And with the 32nd pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, The Houston Texans take...

Grid

All Pro
Fred Bennett, Cornerback, University of South Carolina.

Ever since we got Dunta Robinson, ive been watching the defensive backs at USC, and I like em.

They play physical.. and thats what we want in our system.

So im watching Fred Bennett this year. As of right now, im saying we take him with our first round selection.

I'll say with the 11th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the Houston Texans select Cedric Griffin, CB, University of Texas.

What's wrong with him? Seriously, I don't think he'll fall out of the top 10. I don't follow college football closely enough though to think of a player that will go in the 2nd half of the draft.

1. This wasnt supposed to be a thread talking about where we would end up drafting. I just put 32nd because I didnt know what other number we might be, and didnt want to make some kind of statement about where I thought we would finish this year.. so I went with the 32nd, since every year, every team is hoping for the superbowl.

2. Cedric Griffen was drafted by the Vikings in the 2006 draft.

I'm just not a fan of players who switch positions.

 We have servicable safteys right now, Id like to see us get a stud in the draft either Meriweather or Laron Landry.

Ditto. I don't see the second coming of Steve Smith with this guy. More like, Hurcules Walls.. remeber old Oilers fans ? Ran Like a scalded dog. Hands of stone. I.e., Hurc the brick layer.
Had no problem taking Dav Anderson on day two as a ST/slot guy. I'd have a problem with a Ginn pick.

We'll see what he lifts at the combine TS. I'm guessing, guessing mind you that it won't be much. And they're not suppose to push off, but they do. The rules help the little guys...but 190 lbs is still 190. Look at Steve Smith this weekend. Look at those arms. Makes a difference. I don't know but my instict is telling me Ginn is going to have trouble getting off the line. And a late receiver is death to a timing pattern. Not to mention his blocking ablity @ his weight. I'd just as soon let someone else bite the Ginn apple. Tell ya what , he tourches UT...I'll reconsider. But like someone said, he'll probably be gone by the time we're on the clock. There is a reason the little recievers fell in last years draft. Steelers were foulish to move up for Holmes.

After the past two RBs out of UT, I'll pass.

Seeing how well the Steelers have done in the draft in recent years, I won't believe that until (if) he becomes a bust.
