Tight at the Ends!!!!

Practice Squad
Wow!!! it makes a big difference when you use your tightends and H-Backs. It is so close that I would hate to decide who makes the team, but who ever is cut teams better jump on them. But who should we keep????

Bruener, Putzier, Daniels, and Joppru will make the team with Halterman being PS again if he's still elidgable (I think he is).

I think we keep 4. Kubiak said to day that they will be trying Bennie at fullback a lot this week. Interesting. If he does well, do we then keep Halteman also? I like the kid in NFLE. Doubt it, but it would be nice.

Just saw a very interesting tidbit on Bob Allens channel 13 sports cast. He
had Kubiak on saying that Casserly and his scouts made the call on Owen
Daniels.
Kubiak said after the first day of the Draft was completed the Texans,
with the first pick of the fourth round, would be making the 1st pick of the second day and that that night in a big meeting that went back and fourth for
several choices to make with the first pick of the second day, Casserly politiced hardest for Daniels saying he'd be a good pick for Kubiaks Denver offense.
So bottom line, Kubiak gives Casserly credit for the pick. And I always thought
that Daniels was Kubiaks boy from the beginning.

I'm not surprised, Charlie seems to have a knack @ drafting in the 4th round!:cowboy1:

I dont know , I agree with Bruener, Putzier, and Daniels (joppru goes to FB i think) but halterman? I thought Hape was another Broncos carryover by Kubiak?. anyway I just dont know how many FB's we will keep, but if daniels shifts to FB, we could effectively have 5 TE's on the roster. we'll see I guess. anyone heard anything about Hape?? or was he allready cut?

Interesting :hmmm: And thanks for the info!

It was good to see Joppru out there, too (finally!). I think we'll keep 5, with one listed as a FB. This is an important position in this offense. I like it.

What did you expect him to say? Wait - never mind. It was just a flashback. :)

Well I hope this puts the Ko fellas back into the bottle. With a cork on it.

TE is going to be a very tough cut for us. Do we keep an extra lineman or an extra TE? FB's don't improve...might be able to squeeze one in there. If I was a tight end on the Texans right now I'd be fighting for PT on the ST's or learning to deep snap. Good news is means we're getting better.

That's his money round and hell if Bennie never got injured maybe we would of not riped that pick.

we have done good in the fourth, but the problem with alot of talent that drops to 4th or 5th its for intangibles, bad interviews, inconsistent play, injury trends, etc. IE its a gamble. but i guess like the lottery, you cant win if you dont buy a ticket hehe

Well . . since Casserly is gone already, Kubiak could very easily have taken credit for the Daniels pick . . , by simply not saying anything, and let everyone just assume it was Kubiak's pick.

Pretty classy move if you ask me.

Casserly's picks are looking a lot better now that they are being coached up. Some like Weary who were butts of endless jokes on here are now looking like diamonds in the rough. Others like ....well let's watch the season unfold before CC gets some praise. The coaching staff was his ultimate undoing. I'm digging our new depth problems. This offseason's pickups might seem mind boggling in a couple of years.

I agree about the intangibles. Lets see,

Davis: Great runner and pass catcher, but has consistency problems and serious injury concerns

Mathis: Great speed, great returner, but has WR issues, injury issues, and coaching problems

4th rounders slide this far because of problems, and even our diamonds in the rough still show these

I would say Owen Daniels has shown a little more than Joppru to this point. Maybe BJ will get more chances this week. I am going to assume Putzier makes the team just on knowledge of the system alone. He may not be the start, but he can help our younger TE's figure how to get the most out this system. Bruener seems to be the least desirable in this system. We'll just have to see how things unfold. I think they could keep four.
