Anthony Weaver?

Texas

Veteran
How did AW do? I spent most of my time watchin Mario so I didnt get to watch weaver to much.

There was 1 play in particular where I think 2 or 3 o-lineman completely blew him off the line and LJ just ran right through.

And the reason that LJ walked in is because a ref tackled Glenn Earl and got straight in his path until LJ was in the endzone.

Then it was the fault of the other DLmen and LB's for not making a play.

I don't feel extremely disappointed in our run defense. Yeah it wasn't good but LJ's gonna be doing that to a lot of teams this year.

I didn't in partically like what I saw out of AW tonight. It seemed as if he was getting pushed around inthe middle a lot. He may be better off at playing the DE postion like we originally planed him to do. Unless he greatly improves as we progress throughout pre-season I would diffently like him playing DE.

Ryans got caught in the wash after he came up too far when he tried to shoot a gap. He vacated to the weak "A" gap, LJ went to the strong "A" gap. Weaver ended up about 7 yards off the line in the wrong way.

2 or 3 guys hit him, What would you have liked him to do then?
Maybe the 2 or 3 guys that were not blocked on D should have made the play.

You know what I am going to hold a learn to play DLine thread in a couple days, I really am.:shades:

somebody quick sign that ref to play defensive line AND offensive line......WOW a two way player (Chuck Bednarik lives):twocents:

for what it's worth LJ never got into the endzone...I hope most of you were watching closer than that.

Great start though!

Personally I didnt think that he did very well at all, but I'm not gonna rage on him cause as stated KC has probably the best G-C-G combo in the NFL so anybody play DT on the opposing team is gonna have a hard time. But I in that situation where he got double and pushed back like 7 yards, I would have loved to see him stalemate that double and if he's able to do that then LJ has a harder time getting through that line..

"True, just retelling the most memorable Anthony Weaver moment of the game for myself."

IMO, we seemed a lot softer up the midle against the run than I expected or would want. Still, it's just the first preseason game and they were against one of if not the best inside O-line combos.

Yep. We need to watch the trend there the rest of pre-season to see if they get better. Just like we need to see if the o-line trends downward or if they really are, um, decent. Is that the right word?
