Madden Ratings

I have been playing Madden Football for many many years. I remember I used to scour the Oilers ratings compare them to other teams like the Bills. By midseason, many of the ratings were outdated, especially when a player would go down in the true regular season and a player like Gary Brown would come in and end up taking the job.

But typically, the Madden games underate the rookies until they have proven themselves in the NFL. Fortunately, nowadays, the games update the roster and ratings themselves during the regular season. So in otherwords, if Mario plays up to his potential then those digits will go up. As will the rest of the team in that matter since our Texans are favored to be better this year.

If you look at Reggie Bush's ratings you will notice he is ranked under Duece, and rightfully so. But its obvious that Bush has much higher potential in the long run.

I think its a joke that people actually compare players skills based on a number generated by some game programer .... and just as bad that they propose trades based on the game ..... I play it myself and have for many years .... its a fantasy world not reality .

Do the developers actually rate the players or did they hire a consultant to do that job? I don't think a developer would be the one to blame. Madden is an unrealistic grade out of the box. As it was previously mentioned, the ratings change throughout the year based on the most current productivity. I think they are being as fair as possible.

You know I always thought that was true unitl I sa Reggies Bush's ratings.

Speed - 97
Acceleration - 98
Agility - 98
Catching - 86
Jumping - 87
KickReturn - 92
Elusiveness - 99
BCVision - 88
Spin - 97
Juke - 99

Good lord! He's already te next Barry Sanders, ans he hasn't eveb played 1 game.

After looking at the Reggie Bush stat ratings...... this tells me that Electronic Arts is sold on Bush's talent. Moreover, they realize that he already has a huge fan base. So this is economics 101. You want people to buy your game. So what do you do? Live up to the Bush hype pre-maturally, sell more games. What he does afterwards is up to him and the Saints.

On a personal note, I didnt buy madden football last year. But because of the awesome splashes that the Texans have been making this off season I am primed to make the purchase and play my Texans competively against the nation online!

According to this..Kubiak has cut Joppru :hmmm:

didn't see him on there

Weird thing I was wondering about... I wonder how it would work if you set up your College game version of madden and had stats that were dynamic(able to change as you played throughout the season) and yet able to somehow import those stats you accumulate into the madden nfl version.. and go from there.

I would think it would be cool to be able to make a player start throughout the college seasons and then able to import the ratings into the madden NFL and start from there again from rookie to ......

Don't worry, those will go down next year. Remember when Vick used to be one of the highest rated players?

You can import draft classes from EA's NCAA football games.
