Training Camp pics are posted...

Great pictures once again. One of the most surprising to me was this one:

It looks as though they've put TJ on one heck of a weight loss program. He looks to be in much better shape than he was during minicamp.

Mike Sherman and Gary Kubiak. Hopefully a coaching tandem for the ages.

I don't get why Kubiak is wearing a sweatshirt though. Can't he tell it's hot out there?

That'll be tough, since Sherman might be gone after as little as one year. Maybe one hit wonders.

Bartkoman Is it me or does it look like Dunta is losing his shorts? He needs to tie that draw string :heh:[/QUOTE said:
Yeah. Looks like it.

He sure is getting taken to school by Walter in these pics.

Did anyone else notice how Chris Taylor keeps making it into the secondary.

you can't tell who is taking who to school in still pics. They may be working on underneath techniques or shading a receiver to the inside or any number of things in practice sessions.

that looks like Wiegart.

I noticed the defense practice jerseys of last regime are gone. Also, looks like Kubiak is taking a more hands on approach to TJ.

May I add that frankly, a person can't always tell what he is seeing watching live unless he knows the answer to these and similar questions either. In addition, people in the stands don't know what a coach told a specific player to work on.

For instance a DB may be told to change his footwork for better balance and not to worry so much about covering the receiver for a series of plays. The coach may see the DB improving his footwork and give him positive marks for practice, while the fans in the stands seeing the same player getting beat twice and draws a different conclusion - he was owned all morning yada yada yada.

BTW, Vinny dont know if you made it out today, but your boy Meco looked good. He had people talking, and he plays not only off great instincts, but he knows the plays. At one point he was even telling Orr were to lineup exactly. Good to see a rookie that gets it, and is hungry to be successful.

You really cannot tell who is getting beat until they all have the pads on and go full speed and able to hit. that is when it gets real.

Manytimes they may be going 3/4 speed and just running plays also to make sure all the line is pulling correctly and picking up blocking and/or trying to get the QB use to a timing of when he needs to have that ball out of his hands, etc

Agreed on DM. Did you notice how low he keeps his butt and is still able to move the way he does?

He also has really good hand punch. Him and Orr were really popping that pad during drills. On the flip side, Charlie Anderson was hitting it like a girl.

Believe me Bearfan there was some hitting today, even without pads. Still was a little sloppy, but those boys wanted some contact. Also, Chris Taylor was nice, with pads on he would not have hit the secondary so easily, but he gets the one cut and downhill style that is necessary to be successful in this offense. DD looked good, eventhough a little slower, but he looks very close to healty I would say 95 percent. Morency was ok, but I still think he was dancing and shuffling too much.

Is this Chris Taylor? I can't wait till the preseason to watch him and Dominic Rhodes.

...And Andre Johnson in what appears to be a screen pass:

I think DeMeco is going to be awesome in the middle. I'm going to try to make it out Sunday morning but I haven't gotten any tickets yet. I'm working on it.

Isn't he injured? They may have wanted him to focus more on technique

Anyone know who the guys are in a group with orange shirts ? Dobie Highschool ? I couldn't make out the logo on the front of the shirts.

Yeah those guys were cool. They were the coaches from scarsbourough(spelling). Good guys and really funny. At first some people thought they were from UT, but there was an TAMU coach out there today. There were a couple of coaches out there today.

pete where were you sitting and what were you wearing, next time I am gonna try and spot the guys from the board. Wish it was easier to know who you guys were without coming up and saying hey are you on the board like a jackass.

Man - those pics look freaking great! Good stuff.

Anybody have any idea on where tix can be had this late? I'm looking to get out there on Sunday as well....

Are you the guy who was the huge Eric Winston fan from last Fall ? There was
a poster on this website who was a big admirer of Winston and was always
defensive about those who critisized Winston. He had "Coach" in his handle.
And if you're that guy, you must be real happy that we drafted him ?

Yes I am him. I am a huge fan of Winston and he has looked really good in practice. I am overly glad we got him and he and Spencer will anchor our line for a while now, as long as they keep developing.

Walter looked good.

I understand what AJ meant about Chris Taylor now. He has really nice acceleration north-south.

In the second practice today without the public, they were playing in full pads.

Morency I didn't really see enough of to say anything about. He seemed to be moving on his feet okay.

Charlie Anderson's knee seemed okay. They said it was a minor injury at the time, two weeks, and I guess they were right.

Who's that guy in the white shirt saluting?

Gwall with the keen eye....yes, that would be me 'saluting' - I should have worn my hat. The guy standing next to me is a photographer from Pro Football Weekly that covers this part of the country - nice guy.

Texan Chick they were in shell for the second practice. Shell is hats and shoulder pads. Full pads does not start till sunday.
