Early Game 1 Prediction

Bartkoman

Practice Squad
I know this is really early, but the start of training camp has got me excited. :francis:

I think it will be
Texans 17
Eagles 13

I've never been one of the "McNabb is overrated" bandwaggonners, but he does need people throw to and Philly's receiving core is weak. Also thier defense is rebuilding (as is ours).

I think Kubes and the team come out fired up and will try to prove that they are a new team. This one could go either way, but since it is at Reliant, I have to say the fans give the Texans an edge and we pull it off. If this game were in Philly, I might go the other way.

Texans 1-0 :texans:

Are there really that many people who think McNabb is overrated? I thought it was just what's-his-name on the radio. He's not the best QB in the NFL, but he's obviously one of the better ones.

This is going to be a hard game and unless our D just comes out buck wild and starts laying the smack down, Philly will very much so be in position to win this game. However, I can see with all the new excitement and being at home 17-13 Texans is very capable.

I won't predict a score but I think it'll be within a touchdown and the Texans' running game should be pretty effective. The Eagles have to prove to me that they're a better run D than over the past two years and I really like the way the Texans are setting up for the run with the new staff, deeper, more athletic line and a (presumably) healthy DD.

Oh, and I think this year we start to see a bigger impact from Morency.

I think I'll wait to see what the preseason shows me before I start making predictions. It's not that I think y'all are way off or anything, but I've been burned in the past by the preseason performances.

Yeah we have to make sure that ref in the last game we played the Eagles isn't there and keep honest when Philly goes to punt. Philly loves to pull out the tricks on opening day.

After last year.. I will withhold any optimism until the final pre-season game...

I forgot about that. Was it last year they tried the onside againt Dallas (again) and got burned for the TD?

I hope Kubiak is prepared for any gimmicks.:howdy:

Man, I hope we look better in our first preseason game than we looked last year. We were absolutely terrible in preseason. I know preseason is meaningless, but I still believe that it can help build confidence to start the regular season if you kicked ass in the preseason.

Is that just a homer pick or do you have any basis for it?..:shades:

Just take care of business against the boys from dallas...:coolb:.

Andy Reid will outcoach the rook, I don't know what the score will be but the birds should win. If I had to make a prediction I woulde say 17- 10 Certainly could be a good game though and anything could happen but Reid is serious this year, From all reports the normally quiet Reid has been into everyone's stuff at Training camp. All teams want to start out fast so that really doesn't mean anything, I just think after last season the whole team is quiet, unified and getting very very prepared and will take advantage of the under the radar status they're getting. Big red will be at his coaching best for this game and that's pretty good. The big X factor is that there is no game film to study of the new texans other than what Kubiack wants to reveal during preseason, our divison rivals will all have some game film to look at, but we are coming at you blind.

One good thing about the texans fans is you hate the cowboys almost as much as we do. Outside of this first game I'll be pulling for the Texans all year.

24-14 the Good Guys.

I predict a good day for Carr and co and a marginal day for the Birds as everyone including McNabb and the vaunted "Andy Reid" will be trying to figure out our Offensive game plan and our defense adjustments with little to no tape to work from.

I think the question should be "how many games will we win?" Because it sure won't be the first one.

And I've never had any respect for McNabb. He can't take criticism. I saw that even before the Rush thing. He's almost as much a baby as that joke, T.O. But they both can play, I'll give 'em that.

With Kubiak as coach, I see just the opposite. I don't see any excitement in regards to the Texans this year except on this board and thus I don't see Reliant Stadium offering the same home team advantage that it did with Capers in there. I do believe the wind has gone out of the team's sails. The electricity that was there under Capers has long since disappeared. As for if the Texans will win, heck, maybe they will. The Eagles aren't that good a team without Terrell Owens as proven by last year -- injuries or no injuries. But who cares? Bad team beats another bad team at home. Nothing to write home about.

When the Texans were a new team in there 1st year they played the Cowgirls from the NFC east and won 19-10, started off 1-0.
The Texans are once again a new team playing the NFC east they will go 1-0. Any questions?:superman:

Yes, Continuing along with that logic wouldn't the texans will have the first pick in the draft again in 2011? or would it be 2010?

The Texans are 50-50 in the first games of the season pulling the upsets on the Cowpatties and Miami. It was almost a tradition until San Diego and the Bills beat us the next two which were games we should have won. A .500 in the opening game aint that bad of a stat compared to what the Texans have created. I guess if we want to start winning it should start with the first game upset. Not that the season is doomed and Carr imediately goes to the trading block if we dont. It would be great catayst though.

I think will come down to fewest mistakes, which ever team turns ball over more will lose. I think Texans knowing Colts next up will want to send a message to rest of NFL especially about 2005, only image is of little girl in "Poltergeist"....THEY'RE BACK!!!!:respect:
