Young Still Showing Good Judgement?

Resident Grouch
Want to party with three of the Titans' biggest new names?

Head for Visions Nightclub & Lounge in Atlanta tonight.

The club is billing Titans cornerback Pacman Jones as the host and rookies Vince Young and LenDale White as his special guests for a bash called "The NFL New Millionaire's Club."

At least that's what the club's website says.

Pac-Man and White? Now thats a pair who will show the right way to prepare for an NFL future...

Another lapse in good judgement by a "local hero"?

Guess I just broke my self imposed ban from any more vy articles, but it was just too good to pass up.

i am a huge VY guy, but doing ANYTHING with Pac-Man Jones spells DISASTER. Based on VY's performance in the Wunderlich he might not know how to spell DISASTER but I am hope he knows the word's meaning...this could turn into Fight Night at the Source Awards or something equitable.

Bottom line is it's probably all about money and fame because VY has that show on BET and I am sure hosting an ATL party will be a few episodes in itself. I am sure the hoochie quotient will be at an all time high.....I may have to check that episode out :)

That reminds me of a joke that I heard. One farmer went to his neighbor and asked to borrow his ax. The neighbor told him, no because he had to make soup. The farmer then asked what did his request have to do with making soup. The neighbor replied nothing, but if I don't want to loan you my ax, then any excuse will do.

Hey Jack! Is that you?

Just don't bring the ax into the locker room before the game...:)

I wonder if Vincent is going to invite and pay for his church to make the trip to Atlanta? I mean I am sure that they don't wear timbs or anything unsavory like that.

Wait a minute.... I know he didn't! Pac Man is using a promo picture with the Texans in the background.

I hope Sage sees that. Maybe he will open a can of spinach on him...

Hey, the dress code is "SEXY". Nothin' says not sexy like timbs. That and striped polos.

So we are led to believe that Young's judgment is in question by this article? Connect the dots is a timeless game.

No dot connecting here. Just common sense.

Is this the guy you would want your number one draft pick, hopefully the face of your franchise, to go night clubbing with?

This Guy

The guy is proven trouble.

As for Lendale, well he can always give Young pointers on how to prepare and train for life in pro ball.:thud:

So to answer your question..Yes I believe that this calls Youngs judgment into question.

But that just me. :twocents:

A millionaire NFL player goes out to a club???? Fire him now! More to the point, he hangs with OTHER millionaire NFL players? Damn him! He should be kicking it with the lepers in calcutta....you people are ridiculous. Seriously...show me an article that says young stabbed somebody in a club, or got into a barfight....or even double parked his car outside, then call his judgement into question. Until then, it appears to me as if you are reaching for some tiny hint of scandall to put on him for no reason.

Good Point. VY is most likely using this as a situation to build relationships with the players, younger ones at least, on his team. This kid is going to be the real deal NFL athelete. He will be a class act on the field and off. Just pray the guy doesn't get lead astray by negative players in the league, who use their fame, fortune, and ignorance of idol worshipers to their advantage. He was all good at UT, the same will come in the NFL. You can already see the maturity in his face when he is doing interviews and such. They say he is really doing well with the offense, the front office stuff, and the new NFL attention from fans.:fireball: :bowser:

I don't know Mr.Southwest. Let's look at this a little closer... there might be some dots to connect.

here's the host of the show
http://www.v-103.com/wandasmith.html

One Wanda Smith... working for the People's station in a RED jumpsuit. What up with that?

( unfortunately the MB management has yet to implement the patented Madden yellow on-screen-marker... so you will have to use your imagination of the me circling the requisite images and drawing the lines )

The real question here is... does Vincent hit it with a wacky side arm motion like that Wayans looking fella? That might've worked with the college girls, but I am not so sure that it will with the NFL women.

More to my point....I question his judgement for going to the club with pac-man.

Pac man, in my opinion, is bad news.

Now if young stabs somebody or gets into a bar fight I will not question his judgment, thats when I would question his character.

There is a difference.

I placed no scandal on Young, I merely questioned his judgement.

Me thinks you protest too much. .:taz:

Ehh ... it's the offseason, not even in the middle of camp, and they're going to a club. Pac Man's a moron but I don't see this as being "bad judgment;" not like he's a wanted criminal or has mafia ties. As much as I can appreciate that David Carr isn't going to be out popping drunken wheelies on his motorcycle, catching STDs from strippers, or settling paternity suits, this doesn't seem like news or a display of unacceptable or even substandard judgment, leader or not. I'm definitely not a fan of Vince, but IMO this is a bit of a stretch for a knock against the guy.

Yea..lets deflect this to Carr and start another Carr thread.

While raising my five kids I always told them that you are judged by the company you keep. Right or wrong? idonno:

But again..thats just me I suppose.

I can agree to disagree..moving on and awaiting the start of training camp.

KEITH DAVIS SHOT

The Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys safety Keith Davis has been shot in the head and the thigh, in connection with an apparent drive-by shooting.

Per the News, Davis is recovering from the wounds at a hospital. There had been rumors that he was dead. As it turns out, the injuries are not regarded as life threatening.

He was shot at 5:00 a.m. local time while driving on Interstate 635. A vehicle pulled alongside his car and someone fired several shots. Police are investigating potential suspects and motives.

It's the second time Davis has suffered multiple gunshot wounds. In June 2003, he was shot in the hand and the hip outside of a Dallas night club. He missed the entire 2003 season.

Regardless of whether he'll be able to play in 2006, we don't suggest hanging around Davis in August 2009. Under the current pattern, that's when he'll have his next date with a pair of lead slugs.

We very well might, but it just hasn't surfaced as yet.

Does anyone really think that if Mario Williams was doing these same kind of things, that the Houston media would ignore it?

If you're a VY fan, do you really want him 'hangin' w/ Pac-Man? Remember, this is a guy that doesn't limit his bad attitude to his off-the-field efforts. (anyone have that link showing Haynesworth giving him a sidelines "talking to"?)

I'm w/ Cac's analysis here. It's not about VY's character up to and until he's doing "bad" things himself, but his judgment on this one looks pretty "impaired" from here. Remember that we're not talking about a restaurant or Sports Bar....this is a nightclub.

Much ado about nothing. What is worse, being a 23 year old single guy going to a party at a gentleman's club, someone going 20 miles over the speed limit, eating way to much salt, drinking any alcohol or riding a motorcycle?

All of these and many other vices are there whether you are a NFL player or not. As long as he lives by the professional's rule of your work life should not effect your personal life and your personal life should never effect your business life VY will be all right.

KT, VY may indeed turn out to be "all right." But I think that it is a little Pollyanna-ish to believe that keeping bad company does not eventually lead to bad things.
Check out the endless laundry list of trouble "Pacman" has been involved in or caused

Putting this is such typical bush league. I'm a Texans fan but grew up a Dallas fan..from Ft. Worth..and have been since the 70s. Read ESPN. The guy was driving home from a family vacation and police are looking at it as a car jacking. The first time he was cut but it was found that he was picking someone up from the place. Bad decision but he was not involved in either case doing anything. Just saying. Im my opinion this stuff happens on every team in the NFL and I reserve judgement until the facts come out. Bad luck bad at this time I don't see anything in it. If it does I'll happily retract.

This bush league approach seems to be shared by Dallas fans, also asking the question "why at 5 a.m.. and a carjacking?.... at highway speeds........there is good reason to be suspicious. But many times bad luck is made, especially if recurrent.local update

Since I am in a stir the pot type of mood. What if his name were Bledsoe? Would most people think that he would be on his way to go fishing at that hour? I do not think so.

This whole story is madness.

The club is ( was ) a show sponsored by one of Atlanta's radio stations. White and Young are showing up with an Atlanta native, Jones. It's about as legit as it is going to get.

How in the hell does this have anything to do with the Dallas Cowboys? So I guess Aikman showing up at Billy Bob's for ladies' night was suppossed to have been a really big deal too? Dirty filthy sinners... drinking beer and having sex. What in the hell is wrong with them?

I'm not getting the question Kaiser? As of right now there is no evidence linking him to anything. He could have gotten on the road with from his familys at 5 am. I have done it many a time when I have to get back here from my parents. I'm not making excuses for bad activity but since ESPN usually is in the mood to blow things out of proportion, I'm going with what I've read so far.

If I'm driving a nice SUV and leave my parents place early to beat the traffic home, and I get shot, it is now my fault? From an attorneys standpoint, that is what is wrong with people today..blame first, gather facts later. Considering I've been around here a bit and never have pulled any homer status while supporting the Texans, I'd say there are more Houston fans that illogically throw out Dallas b.s than most.
