FSU, Bad Attitude, Reality Check.

I saw in a different thread that FSU players seem to have a bad attitude in the pros (http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zone/messageboards/showthread.php?t=24084). I didn't want to argue it there, as it conflicted with the topic of the thread. But, here, I will discuss the reality of that situation.

I dont see the argument about FSU alum having attitude problems. Like someone said before. If a winning attitude is a bad one...please tell me, because that seems to be what every FSU player carries with them to the pros. They love to win, especially in big games.

The argument about TJ can't be tied to FSU, as he is just an underachiever. I haven't heard about him talking back to a coach or anything like that. I do remember a fight he got into one time, but that doesnt seem to be an attitude problem, as I have also got into a fight on the football field before.

Deion never had attitude problems he is just very good at what he does. Around 40 and still a formidable pro. I dont see this argument; do you mean he was cocky? I dont see why he wouldn't be, I mean seriously.

Derrick Brooks has been the best LB in the NFL several years now and is a role model for all aspiring pros.

Brad Johnson is a good pro, and might I had has a Pro-Bowl ring at the QB position.

How about Anquan Boldin. I dont think I have ever heard him speak to the media, not even much in Tallahassee. Oh by the way he is the leader of the WRs in Arizona. A crew including himself, and Larry Fitzgerald (second coming of Moss?).

How about Alex Barron, the replacement for Orlando Pace in St. Louis....haven't seen him complain much, we'll see how that pans out though.

Laveranues Coles, Darnell Dockett, Warrick Dunn, Chris Hope, Dexter Jackson, Sabastian Janikowski, where the bad attitudes at?...Brad Johnson, Greg Jones, Samari Rolle, Bryant McFadden, Travis Minor, Corey Simon, Chris Weinke, Javon Walker.

Should I got on?...Peter Boulware...Michael Boulware, brothers with rings. Both out of FSU as LBs, but Michael ended up playing Safety for the Seahawks. He is only 24 by the way. I guess the Seahawks don't really know what they are doing huh. Walter Jones didn't seem to give them mcuh problems. I guess they couldnt get enough of those bad attitude FSU players when they picked up Ray Willis, another big tackle, in the 4th round a few years ago. Or how about when they nabbed Peter Warrick. Didn't they pick up two undrafted FSU players this year. Oh yea they did, Matt Henshaw (TE) and Gerard Ross (CB, actually a guy that didnt start all the games for FSU last season).

Do your research, homey. http://www.warchant.com
Your right though, you could never build a championship team around those low-lifes.:ok:

As is the case for teams, leagues, and sports, the bad news will make the news 99% of the time more than the good news. Look at it this way: there are two newspapers, one has the headline NFL player suspected for murder and the other has NFL player donates millions to NOLA relief. The first one will be the news of the day and the second would come after the words "in other news..." Let's look at recent news, we hear about every NFL player arrested or caught in a scandal, but I doubt we hear even a tenth of news such as all the work NFL players did for hurricane relief. My point is that the general public will focus more on the bad news, maybe won't even hear the good news, and use that to form an opinion on a group, or in this case, a league. As they say, one bad apple ruins the bushel.

FSU also turns out more top tier nfl players than any university in the country...you want to talk about a university that puts out poor attitudes and underachievers, you need to look a bit south...to the U

Jeremy shockey...attitude issues, wont control his temper or workout with his team
kellen winslow...underachiever/hurt
sean taylor-running legal issue

FSU also kicks out people with character issues....note that AJ nicholson exited off the team, and randy moss had to go play ball at marshall.
Hmm...he can't be called an underachiever, for he doesn't qualify for achiever. He played something like three games. I'll give you Jerome McDougle there, though.

Warren Sapp, The Rock, Jonathan Vilma, Edgerrin James, P-Burnt, Andre Johnson, Willis McGahee, DJ Williams, Ed Reed, Clinton Portis, Reggie Wayne, Sinorice Moss, Santana Moss, and our new LT Eric Winston.

As compared to your list and Ray Lewis...and....

Unless you went to FSU you don't know, it's a Florida thing. The players are never bought down to make them think that they are not the way, truth, and light, but most get it together in the pros. Florida is kinda wild and while it may be an attitude to some, we were taught to never think low about yourself and others will treat you that way to--also other Floridians don't consider this to be the case, different strokes for different folks

you mention jeremy shockey because he doesn't train with the giants, but shouldn't you knock javon walker for the same thing since they both train at the university of miami. really though i don't think that is a knock on any player because from all the reports everyone that trains down there works there butts off and come into camp in great shape. plus jeremy isn't really in the same conversation as winslow and taylor. you mention his attitude problems and how he can't control his temper, but he doesn't get into trouble off the field and don't know when his temper has caused any major problems. as for what school has more problems with players the only big arrest of a miami player in the last couple of years is antrel rolle, while fsu has had off the top of my head ernie sims, fred rouse, kenny o'neal, and a.j. nicholson get in trouble with the law. you mention how they kicked a.j. off the team but wasn't this the second or third time he has been in trouble (when i say this time i mean the trouble he got into before the orange bowl). one other question, when did micheal boulware and the seahawks win a ring?

You are right...i went to school @ Florida A&M...Not far at all from FSU...And I have a lot of family in Florida which i visit regularly, and it is just a different atmosphere and Floridians do have a certain confidence about themselves that some might see as cocky...:hunter:

You start a thread because you feel that your program is being unfairly attacked and then in that same thread you have to try to shift focus to the most dominant college football team in the State of Florida. What's up with that...?

There is no shift in focus, the two teams you speak of are the same, and that is the Florida State Seminoles. Week 1...Canes vs Noles. We will see then.

Nice try 'Nole. Sadly I don't think either of our squads are that strong this year, so it may be another "battle of futility" similar to what we witnessed last year. Good luck.

Why is the best game of the year on Week 1? Why can't it be in the Fiesta Bowl? :stirpot:

Actually, this year the Fiesta Bowl isn't even the best game of the year...I think there are two games in Phoenix: (i) Fiesta Bowl; and then (ii) the national championship game. Pretty odd...

I am guessing it is Ohio State v. Oklahoma - although I would prefer Miami v. Notre Dame!

We are actually a pretty strong squad, and i think you will witness that on Week 1. Too bad I can't go to the Bottom to check it out.

Remind me how many national titles you guys have won again? Just checking...yawn.

Also, I am sure you enjoyed living in Trailerhassee - quite honestly the nastiest city I have every had the displeasure of visiting. You should be proud.

Well, we might as well make it interesting...how about some sort of bet re: Avatars? I am not message board savvy, but I would imagine that we could come up with something to make it fun - i.e. loser has to use the winner's school mascot for each of their posts for a few weeks.
