If you hate the Dallas Cowboys, you're going to love Terrell Owens

Terrell Owens is hoping to disrupt his previous team with the release of his trashy new tell-all book. What he's really doing is giving the Dallas Cowboys a glimpse of what's ahead.

Fasten your seatbelts, Cowboy fans. He was a jerk in San Francisco. He was a jerk in Philadelphia. And he's going to be a jerk in Dallas.

He's the best wide receiver in the NFL, an almost unstoppable force capable of taking over games. He's not worth the trouble.

Maybe the blowup won't come in training camp or the first half of the season. But it'll come and it'll be disruptive and it'll be great fun.

The Cowboys haven't won a playoff game in almost 10 years. They're not going to win one this season. They'll be something better than a winner. They'll be the NFL's No. 1 freak show.

To be honest I don't care what he does except do what he is paid to do and that is score. It makes no difference to me if he's happy or sad on the team or if he likes the coach or owner.

They can always cut him if they don't like what they are getting. He won't be the first.

And the other option is he could be fine and score alot. Either way they are paid millions to deal with these players. So they will do whatever they have to do I'm sure.

....and if they cut him, it will ONLY cost them $5 million just for the honor of him trying on a Girls outfit.......remember the guaranteed signing bonus?

Well Jerrah Jones is reported to be one of the best businessmen in the NFL, and this is purely a business decision.

Publicity, even bad Publicity, is still good for business. Getting the Cowboys front page headlines with Owens antics is just what Jerrah is hoping for.

yeah, it's going to happen. Yeah, it's going to be spectacular, as are all of his temper tantrums.

and yeah, Jerrah's going to be smiling all the way to the bank when the media goes into it's feeding frenzy of 'I told ya so' and here is what TO did to prove me right.

as your links said, they haven't made the playoffs in over 10 yrs. So what else is newsworthy with the Cowboys other than TO? Nothing.

The logic of the enemy of my enemy is my friend is usually a sound one.

But in this case, I really dislike Owens to the point that I wouldn't wish him on anyone...even the Cowboys. (I mean, I've got friends that are Cowboys fans.)

I have very little doubt that TO will implode in Dallas like he has everywhere. It is a character flaw, and you can't fix fundamental aspects of a dude's character (unless he makes the choice to do so). But Owens obviously sees nothing wrong with his past actions, so there is absolutely no catalyst for him to change his ways.

My feelings exactly. T.O. has never done anything wrong. It's always someone else's fault. My problem is....he's still profiting from his actions. Why won't the teams and owners black ball this guy. IMO, the Cowboys get everything that they deserve here. He will cause more problems than he's worth.:challenge

I remember all the posts about how Parcells would only last 3 years in Dallas because of the pending clashes between his and Jerry's egos.

Year 4 and counting...

Well the link is wrong my friend. We havent WON a playoff game in 10 years. That will all change this year. We'll be 5-0 after the arse kicking we're going to give to you're beloved texans.

I'm ready to drink some beer for that game. Oh yeah. My ex wife and her fiance or whatever he is now are going to. They got a blue parking pass as well. So between them, me and you we have 3. That should get some people in. BTW he's a texan fan. He catches hell from me and my ex wife so he'll enjoy some company with some texan fans. See you at the game. Well actually I'll see you the night before.

Again not true. Man you and gr8 are very football knowledgeable(is that spelled right?) football fans and still getting this very simple fact wrong.

They made the playoffs in 2003. Was a very quick exit but they did make it.

wondered when you were going to step in DFAN. Looking forward to that game for sure. including the night before. Can't wait to see Jerrah's face when the Texans take the Texas bragging rights AGAIN. :stirpot:

this time at your place instead of ours. :redtowel:

by the way, was the newsworthy part of that 2003 game your referred to about them making the playoffs, with an 8-8 record? Or how they got shown the door so quickly?

Again do your homework. They were 10-6 in 2003. They got shown the door buy the Panthers who wentto the SB.

JJ's face will have a big oh smile on it. But just in case I'm bringing an extra $500 so if a miracle happens and they do get lucky and win, I might have to punch someone in their mouth for talking crap.

So? The Texans beat the Panthers that year. It still does not change the fact that your playoff win drought is longer than ours.

I don't know what to say right away... I think his relentless poking at McNabb and the Eagles could be good and could throw them off of their game, if the Cowboys get up on them early. It might also endear him to the team a bit too... possibly. Sorta like 'the team rallies around their man' kinda thing.

( not sure how after that star dancing act, but it IS Dallas after all )
---

I can tell you this though! I am going to be one unhappy bitter person for the next four years if we get dropped by T.O. and the Cowboys. UGH the mere thought makes me want to take a nap.

EDIT:

Also the Panthers didn't win the Super Bowl... but I don't think you meant to say that.

Okay, excuuuuse my slip of the fingers. Four years of Parcells without a playoff win and there will be no more counting. Is that better?

It's just been so long (a full decade now) since the Cowboys have really mattered in the playoffs that details get fuzzier by the year.

Just as San Fransico fans look the other way with Barry, and Laker fans just love thier little sodomizing adulterer, ******* fans will love T.O.

The crackboys have always had a "I don't care" attitude with thier players. Look at Irvin, They loved him. And what about that guy who got caught with a "van down by the river"?

I have always thought of the Cowboys as 49ers wannabes on drugs.

man, I'm glad we're getting together before the game because this is going to be me after that game. :yahoo:

it's called antipathy DFAN. I usually don't spend alot of my time on the cellar dwellar teams, like the Cowboys. Besides I got enough family member's around to 'update' me after every game. Unfortunately they are the kind that I want to punch in the mouth for talking crap, when they ain't got crap to talk about.

oh yeah, I am bringing my son in law who is a cowboy fan, so I'll trade you one son in law for an ex-wife fiancee, just to keep the scales even on the fan numbers to swap notes with.

If a.j. is insinuating that if they don't win a playoff game after this season, he might be correct. Not saying he'd be fired, but I could see him hanging 'em up. Doubt it though. I think he'll stick around at least another year to see how his young defense comes along in year 3 of his preferred system.

Houston (Oilers and Texans) hasn't won a playoff game since '91.

Unless of course you're referring to the Texans' undefeated record in the playoffs. But is 0-0 really better than 0-1? Did the Texans have a better season last year than the Colts (0-1 in the playoffs) because they didn't lose a playoff game?

Got your tickets yet, gr8? Me and the wife will be in section 115. My brothers and I sat in 114 at last year's Arizona game and I liked the proximity to the exits (never know...I may need a fast getaway after this game :) ). Won't be late for the tailgate this time.

I noticed that as well. However, they should have won and goes to show that you need to stay focused the full sixty minutes. One mistake, e.g., bad kick resulting in a short field, can sure change the outcome.

yep, sect 16, right below you guys.

PM me for the party information. Hope you get to hang with us also. You, LMBH, and DFAN are the kinda Cowboy fans that are fun to hang with. looking forward to meeting the Mrs. this time.

by the way, we have totally wrecked CNNND's thread.

would someone who cares about the Cowboys and TO get this thing back on track?

Yeah just got through watching that game a few days ago ( the NFL ran a short clip on it and I had to break the DVD out ). Kickers! Without a doubt that is the one position that I absolutely love and hate the most in football.

Speaking of the devil though... the Vanderjagt pick up has got to make Cowboy Corral more nervous then T.O.

Actually what that is the one spot that I expect to see the REAL sparks fly. Vanderjagt knocks back a few too many at Billy Bob's before he has a radio spot, calls out T.O. for dropping a few balls, T.O. comes back with the Garcia Red Z Tight Out play, then Vanderjagt shanks it ala' Scott Norwood versus the Colts in the Super Bowl. True Americana Cowboy poetry.

A classic Houston Oiler moment, even though it happened three years before I was born!

I think most people have seen it or know about it? ABC ran that spot several times during the final season of Monday Night Football. But then again I guess I hang to close with Mike Leach at times, so here's the story:

It's from 1972 in the Astrodome... Raiders were killing the Oilers

Saluting the nation

In 1972, the Oilers were billed on Monday Night Football opposite the Oakland Raiders in the Astrodome. The Raiders won, 34-0, in a game that saw Oilers fans hit the exits quicker than Oilers backs were hitting the holes.

Late in the game, a TV camera panned the nearly vacant stands. One fan saw the camera, raised one hand and gave an obscene, one-finger gesture.

Don Meredith finally broke the stunned silence in the ABC booth. "He's telling us his team is still No. 1," Meredith explained.

( lots of good Bud Adams in that article too )

It's good to be in love with Houston or obviously proof that God is dead set on punishing me for wanting to get... bah.

I love the fact that everyone on here hates on the cowboys and says they are so bad of a team...how many games did the texans win last year?? :hunter: :chicken: but i'm not here to take sides cause i like both teams just here to put in my :twocents:

well this is a texans message board and the cowboys are our rivals so we are going to bash them a lot.
