Len Pasquarelli of ESPN had this to say about our "beloved" McClain. It was in the ESPN Insider write up.
Punts: Congratulations to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, one of the good guys in the business, on his selection as the winner of the prestigious McCann Award. The award, chosen by the Professional Football Writers of America, honors a media member for distinguished service as a writer.

McClain is a good journalist, he is just a lousy Texans reporter, IMHO. I guess it was all the write ups about the
cowboys and titans
that put him over the top.
