Seeing the World Cup and the fun competition it brings makes me wonder how exciting an event between countries in Football would be (American Football).

Anyway, who do you think would be the starting players on offense and defense. Only the starters, cause i know its easy to name off the probowlers from last year for the team.

This will likely never happen because our version of Football isn't very popular worldwide. It's catching on in Europe...but that's only one part of the world.

Besides, could you really imagine another country beating a team that has Peyton Manning, L.T. Randy Moss, T.O., etc. etc.?

Sure, there could be the clashing of head, but still...

Well i know it wouldnt happen...but itd be cool to see those guys go against like the Scottish team...Im betting that most countries would be decent.

Anyway post your team.

Yea could you imagine, China VS USA.................

"Shing Shuw catches the ball across the middle and O my gosh!!!!!!!!!", "Ray Lewis just knocked the head off Shing Shuw".

*for the record, I am not making light of sumo wrestlers, I am just saying wow they would be hard to stop on 1st and goal at the 3 .. or atleast a blocking full back.. William Perry move over

also forgive me for my ignorance in the sport. I do realize some Sumo Wrestlers come from other areas of the world (hawaii for example).

just like in basketball at the olympics, eh??:hides: :whip: :redtowel:

Yea, i think you guys would be suprised. Of course other countries would need time to learn how to play the game, but i beleive they could reach the level of the U.S.

Anyway, my starting offense:

QB: Peyton Manning

FB: Lorenzo Neil

RB: LT

TE: Antonio Gates

WR: Chad Johnson

WR: Steve Smith

Dont know enough about OL to give a fair starting lineup.

Defense:

DE: Julius Peppers

DE: Simeon Rice

DT: Marcus(?) Stroud

DT: Chris Hovan(?)

OLB: Derrick Brooks

MLB: Ray Lewis

OLB: Shawne Merriman

CB: Champ Bailey

CB: Dante Robinson (had to)

SS: Ed Reed

FS: Sean Taylor

Head Coach: Brian Billick (I just really like the guy).

Just like in other sports (basketball and baseball) the other countries would get beat up in the early years and then you would see them start to be more competetive. And just like in other sports the US team would be more athletic but you would see a "team" from the other countries do really well. There are fast strong guys in other countries. The problem would be that they don't have a minor league system like we do (college). They would start their "football schools" where they would start training them at six months old and eventually one of the groups would beat us.

This brought up a memory from Team USA....ie The Dream Team. Remember when the other countries were just happy to play against our best? The other teams were asking for autographs and photo ops after the games . They knew they were going to get beat by at least 50 points and after the first couple of years the games began to get closer and closer. America lost its edge and other countries weren't scared anymore. Same thing would happen.

This idea would never work because all the star players listed don't work with each other on a regular basis. No timing or chemistry. That's why the ProBowl is what it is, a time for fans to see their favorite stars have a little fun. It's not a serious game by any measure. That's why I think any "team" of stars that America sends anywhere is a joke. I've always felt we should just send our champions from that year to go stomp on the rest of the world if we're really looking to compete.

That would make the Superbowl even bigger, good idea. I think maybe if they had some practices together that they could pick up some chemistry pretty fast.

other teams have the same amount of time to prepare aswell...and they'd get more than 4 days to practice
