I'll co-sign w/ you on this prediction. However, I think the game against the Cowboys will be somewhat closer. I say Texans 31 - Cowboys 21.

Dolphins were amazing at the end of last year minus Daunte Culpepper.

I have a feeling they'll be the AFC East winner this year, and it'll be a lot closer game than 17-6.

As a guy that grew up loving Uncle Tex, Tom and Roger, then for only a brief moment Jimmy, Troy, Emmitt, Moose and Jay, you gotta understand I still don't want to see the Cowboys get beat that bad (that freakin godawful Jerry or not).

when i saw the thread title i thought you meant 1 win out of 5 wouldn't be bad and if you're being realistic/pessimistic it wouldnt be bad...we've got a killer start to the season
 
Not even talking about the Cowboy game, I think all of the scores may be a liitle high, and the Fins game will be a battle for sure.
 
you know i thought we had a pretty good recieving core, but ESPN ranked us at #20th. I mean come on AJ, Moulds, is enough for me, but add D.D to that cause he is such a threat catching the ball and making plays and J.P now to help the tight end position, that will all open stuff up fou E.M and A.J, and i figured we were at least a top 10. Hmmm is it just me our does houston teams never get any respect, we go to the world series last year, and the sucking chicago cubs still get more air time then the poor stros.

I don't want to see Peyton hurt. He's a quality guy. I just want to see us beat him. Sacks, interceptions, rushes, fumbles....that's all good. Hurting his pride would do more to him than physical pain. Whipping the Colts would be a big break-through for the Texans. We've got to do that to get to the next level. :respect:

Yea, Dolphins fans are excited about this season. I actually have $200 in bets with 3 different people on this Dolphins, Texans game in week 4.

They weren't using him anyway. He was riding the pine for several games last year and they didn't miss him at all. They're D is going to be tough.

They've made a lot of changes on offense that should make them explosive as hell. I'm just hoping that their O hasn't jelled by the time we play them.

Youre nuts. Its not just about getting to McNabb its about getting him down. He has lost weight and is fast again and the Texans did draft some quality players but you cant expect a rookie to play that well in his very first start especially against the Eagles D-Line. It will be a good game though. And you think the Texans will beat the Cowboys, Dolphins, and Redskins? Wow youre in for a very disappointing first 5 weeks. You guys start off not better than 2-3

We plan to pull out the secret weapon against McNabb...Campbell's Thick and Chunky Slow Roasted Beef with Mushrooms. Since you ARE what you eat, he'll play like he's chunky and slow. Wow that was a good one. Face it even after a losing season last year the Eagles are still better than you this year. The Texans have a better running back and wide recievers than the Eagles but without and offensive line they are both useless, the only good player on your defensive line is Mario Williams and he hasnt even played a down yet. Poor David Carr:crutch:

If we can come out of the first 6 games atleast 3 and 3 we have a playoff team.....

Eagles 13 and 3 a year past with or without Owen,,when McNabb is healthy he is tuff to tango...
Indy Colts 12 and 4 Don't mater who they lost they are still in our way..

There is no way in hell the Texans start 4-1. Not only do they have to go up against the Eagles but also the Redskins the Cowboys the Colts and the Dolphins. There is no chance in hell. And of those teams the Eagles are the worst and are still better than the Texans! 0-5 sorry guys

While the act of self deprecation is admirable, the act of including someone else is TACKY. It's wise to keep such comments to one's self.
 
I feel we can go 5-0. We have a great chance of beating Indy this yr. Without "Edge" they will not be as explosive as in the past IMO. Question is...will our secondary be able to shut down Indy's recievers?? I feel that they can. Looking at past games, Texans have done a decent job on Indy's recievers. They have had some great games. Looking forward to finally beating them this yr. and to being 5-0 for the first time in franchise history!!! Go Texans!!!!
 
I think we go 1-4 or 2-3 the first five games. Heck I think we have a better shot of going 0-5 than we do of 3-2 or better.
 
I dont think anyone has a real idea who we match up the best against. I mean we know simple things like, team with slow corner will get burnt by AJ. But we dont know our offensive or defensive style at this point so we dont know who we match up the best against.

Anyway, I'll take a win over the eagles...cause i never liked them, plus ive got friends that are fans. Colts for the division and 1st win, and Dolphins for the money and satisfaction of laughing at my Miami friends. 3 of the first 5 cuts it for me.:homer:

I was noticing the schedule the other day. We got a better bye...finally. However...we catch Washington a week after they have an away game at the Pokes. Back to back road games are hard for whom ever. We catch Dallas after thier two two road games, @ Tenn, & @ Pilly. Then they get us at Home. The point of all this IS...the Pilly game is a lynch pin to our season. On Paper there should be no way we can hang with the eagles. However, I truly believe that the Eagles offensively are rudimmentary and will be untill a WR emerges. If we can find someone to handle the water bug on third down, we got a shot. We end up 3-2, 4-3 out of the gate. All things are possible. But I believe Ogre is correct. Keep our hopes low and our expectations high. :homer:

I realize our projections may seem overly optimistic to an outsider, but we don't think of ourselves as a 2-14 team. We think of ourselves as a team that had been improving every season and should have improved from 7-9 tow years ago to be about 10-6 or so last season. Obviously the wheels came off, but we feel like we had the players to be that good if the coaches had put them in a position to succeed. Now that we have dumped the coaching staff and had an outstanding offseason, it seems logical (in our own desperate minds) that we are ready to have the season we SHOULD have had last year - 10 to 12 wins. Will it happen? History says probably not, but it has happened before. That is where we are coming from.

We have a very tough schedule to start, I'll be happy if we're 2-2 heading into the bye week and the Texas showdown. We should finish the year much stronger as our players continue to improve in the new system and our schedule gets a little weaker. If we start off 4-1 or better, we should be looking at a 12-4 or better season and a division title.

Or reluctance to stretch the field, due largely to our inabiltiy to keep our QB on his feet, has stopped us from putting points on the board, and staying in games past the third quarter. & we've been in it with the Colts(arguably the best team in the NFL the last three years running).

We've addressed our line, our pass rush, our recieving corps, we've got two 1st round corners........

some people are going to be very surprised....... 13-3 baby...... 13-3

it will be interesting if Runyan and Williams matching up..should be a good test for the rookie to learn some things
 
I think we're gonna beat Philly and Miami and that whether we go 2-3 or 3-2 will be determined by how we do against Dallas. Honestly, we'll probably lose it in Dallas. :brickwall
