Dolphins update on Harrington and Culpepper

SCOUTING REPORT: QB Joey Harrington has looked somewhat inconsistent during his first few weeks with the Dolphins, keeping up the track record he established during his four years in Detroit. That said, the Dolphins are going to be patient with Harrington because he just joined the team. Some of the coaches are troubled by Harrington's tendency to get flustered when plays break down. Harrington will sometimes look like he's scatter-shooting in practice, which makes the people in charge nervous. At other times, Harrington looks like a smooth athlete with the ability to throw precise passes.

REHAB UPDATE: QB Duante Culpepper looked exceptional in the Dolphins minicamp as he ran and cut during team drills and took all the snaps he was supposed to take with the first unit. Culpepper's return has been strong and somewhat surprising. Most players coming back from triple-ligament tears in a knee take at least 10 to 12 months to get back to full strength. Culpepper not only appears on the short side of that estimate, he could even be ready for the beginning of the exhibition season on Aug. 12 against Jacksonville. Neither Culpepper nor coach Nick Saban would make a prediction about that, but Saban left open the possibility.

I saw this clip on him the other day. He could regularly hit the cross bar on the goal posts from 30 yards out. I will give it up to him for his skills to do that. It reminds me of perspective. While often I think of some guys as sub-par, the par is still pretty high.

Culpepper and Carson Palmer's quick recoveries from such massive knee injuries are just unbelievable.

Modern medical science is amazing.

Yes if something happens to Daunte Culpepper this year...we Dolphin fans are going to wish we had Rosenfels back with us. I hope that Harrington works out well with the Dolphins, but man we really loved Sage! Rosenfels should get a lot of action during the preseason games(might even start one or two)...so you Texan fans will get a good opportunity to see him play. I'm curious to see how he will develop under coach Kubiak. Sage may be gone....but I will continue to follow him in the games. Besides..we get to play you guys this year.

Crossbar doesn't move. On that 3rd and 8 pass across the middle he's going to make throws that look more like he is aiming for the crossbar insted of his WR.
And that inconsistancy the scouting report mentioned is called his entire career.

I don't have the Dolphins enough to wish Joey Harrington on them, get well soon Culpepper.

Coach Saban gave his team a nice speech as they were breaking from the OTA's and mini camp. He wanted to stress the importance of them continuing their conditioning program during their 6 week break. As he closed the lecture...he referred to a quote from Muhammed Ali that went something like this....

"I won most of my battles far far away from the spotlight...and far away from the ring. Most of my battles were won in the gym training..doing the conditioning day after day in preparation. I hated every minute of it...but I knew it was worth it, if when I was finished with this game, I could live the remainder of my life as a champion"

Saban even talks about taking his laptop on vacation with him so he can watch film. man this guy is obsessed! Gotta love Saban!

O yeah don't get me wrong. It takes a lot more then accuracy to be able to quarterback an NFL team, but the sheer skill to be able to do that just shows off how good the worst are ( that's all I am saying here ).

I do not however like the Dolphins enough not to see them experiment with things found in the forest of Oregon. So if he started in Miami, great. I'll watch.

Wow, I thought it was questionable if he would be ready for the season :shocked

I've always liked Culpepper. I hope he has a great season with the Dolphins. Coach Saban is a class act, too. I think they'll have some good success with each other this year if DC can stay healthy.

UGh DC? What does David Carr have to do with the Dolphins?

Or are you talking about Dom Capers?

:)

Or do you work for the DOD? Then I guess I can understand. MAPWG secured.
