Are you serious about the Carr/Banks thing, Go-to guy is AJ, and I see Babin having a good year.

It seems the Carr / Banks dilemna is overshadowing the REAL question - Domanick Davis, or Jonathan Wells?

First of all there is no QB controversy, Carr will start.

DD and AJ will be the 2 go to guys.

Dunta will have his bumps just like any rookie CB but will play solid enough, and Babin will have a big impact on the pass rush(7 or more sacks).

No way! The RB battle/delema that might develope could be between Davis and Hollings. Davis is #1 going into training camp. But if Hollings can cure his fumblitis, and can learn to hit the holes, and find the running lanes, who do you start? I've never been a fan of rotating players, but this would probably be the short term solution for this upcoming season. But would Hollings' speed and break-away threat give him the long term advantage over Davis?

I think he was being sarcastic with the DD/Wells comment. As in, saying there is a QB controversy between Carr and Banks is like saying there is an RB controversy between DD and Wells.

 On my roster Banks does not make the final cut. Most teams love having 2 quality RBs Davis & Hollings. Just think of what we have if Hollings was to beat out Davis. Will that happen probably not, but what if? :fight: :fight: JMO

I love Hollings and his homerun threat speed, if he can stop fumbling he should atleast challenge for playing time (I have been a big Hollings supportor). Should be intresting to watch in camp

Banks will make this team. You can't have Ragone as the #2 because he played like "Number 2" last year when he stepped in. I don't expect Wells to be on the roster, but it will be interesting to see what happens to Symons in the midst of all this.

Wells is probably history.
If he is gone (which he probably is), do we bring in a 3rd RB to put on the roster or keep 2 RBs (Davis, Hollings) and 2 FBs (Baxter, Norris) on the roster. I really like both Baxter and Norris. Should be a fun battle in camp at both back positions.

Holling could out produce DD in preseason, but guess who will start? DD! Thats right. DD is a special runner, he runs with patience and that what separates him from Hollings.

Plus DD was the 2003 Rookie of the year w/ an O.K. front line. Now with the edition of wade I can only imagine what he will do with a full season, because he was injured for some part of last year.

That isn't even a question....Carr is the Texans 1st string QB.

Go to man is A.J. of course.

Out of our draft picks....I say Babin will have a better year....not to say Robinson won't do so well. It's just that I think Babin will be slightly better with them having a good year.

Dont forget that Olandis Gary won the ROY (I think), doesnt mean that you win the ROY you have your position back the next season. I really like Hollings and the speed he brings to the table.

In addition, we employ the same zone blocking scheme as the Denver Broncos

Dom must be very happy right now. The offense appears to be solid and the defense is deeper than I thought it would be at this time. I think the Texans are going to bee like that train that can sneek up on you when you are walking down the railroad tracks.

Carr is the starter if heathy. Period.

The #2 backup job I see as being Bank's one last year, with Ragone in the #3 role. If Ragone progresses this year, then I think they will move him into the #2 spot next year, with Symons assuming the #3 role, IF they can keep him. I am a Symons fan, and I think the best thing that can happen is that he can be put on the PUP or IR list. If he goes to the practice squad, it is my understanding that other teams can sign him to their active roster. I can certainly see that happening, and would hate to lose him.

Carr (no question)

tough one. I see AJ the main guy, but it wouldn't suprise me that on 3rd down it is Gaffney or a TE (I can't name one, because I haven't seen Joppru's catching ability, I already know about Millers)

Draft picks..hmm I am thinking Babin's will make more of a mark. If our DL stays healthy, he should be able to make an immediate impact.. Personally I want to see what Peek can do with a healthy D-line in front of him. Robinson should do ok if we can get the pass rush needed and he should be covering the #2 guy, but he will be on an island and it is a tough position esp. for a rookie.

Running back situation. I think we will stick with DD. That seems to be Capers style, a tough north-south runner. Hollings IMO ... is still an enigma to me. He shows great speed, but I don't know how he is in between the tackles. I am leaning towards him being our change-of-pace pack when the opponents Defense gets tired.
Wells better either a)show alot of improvement at RB or b) a special teams demon or i think we will be gone and we keep Norris/baxter. (heck we may go with 3 Rb's and 2 Fb's)

Good post. Why can't we have more threads like this?

My sleeper at running back is James Allen. I think he will come out of retirement.

I also believe that we will waive David Carr and get Cryin Leaf as our QB of the future.

Point well taken Fiddy, but that's kind of like saying just because Manning and Mcnair won co MVP'S that doesn't mean that they get their position back next year. All I'm saying is that with the numbers DD put up last year while only starting in 10 games is worthy of a starting bid this year. I'm thinking if he would have started the other 6 games we could very well be talking pro bowl numbers.I like Hollins and what he brings to the team as for as speed, but he has played running back in what three college games I just think he needs more time.

That would be too bad if James Allen came back I was just getting into his rap career. :bag:
