Are you? I never cared much for UT football so that doesn't really play into my decision. Even if I was, I would have a hard time rooting for the Titans, even with a Houstonian and an ex-Longhorn being the QB. So I say no. Maybe some of you will root for him when he's not playing the Texans. Some of you probably aren't. I hope he stays healthy and has a terrible career! I'm just not a Titans fan.

I love UT, and I'm probably going to go there, but I'm rooting for VY to fail miserably. Why? He plays for the enemy...

Earl was the best to come out of UT. I like A&M a whole lot more. I really dislike the Titans. Nothing against Young. I.m just not sure how he is going to do in the NFL. Might turn into a running back or wide reciever. QB is another story.

No, I'm not rooting for Vince Young. And it has nothing to do with him being a Longhorn or Vince Young (I think he's a great player and a nice guy).

But my attitude of not rooting for him has everything to do with the fact that he's now an enemy of the Houston Texans. How could I possibly root for a Tennessee Titan, under any circumstance?

I don't like UT and I certainly don't like the Titans. I am not rooting for Vince Young. He will probably be a good QB, but I will never never never cheer for the Titans or any of their players.

I could care less what college he played for! I hope he eats dirt everytime he puts on a Titan uni!!!

I am personally not rooting for him. While I could never really wish serious injury of big-time failure on a player, I am not a UT fan, Vince plays for the Titans, and the couple times I have seen/met Vince in person he was not especially cordial, so I have no reason to root for his success from a football or personal standpoint, althoug I can't say I hope he turns into a colossal failure in this league, except when he plays us.

Hopefully my feeling on him turns out like Brett Favre, he ends up being a good player, I respect him as a player, but I don't like his team and don't particularly like him personally so I don't root for their success, but I still admire their talent.

A true Texan fan would never root for a Titan...unless they need to defeat the Colts or Jaguars in order for us to clinch a playoff spot....:stirpot: :tease:

I guess I can see the Vince Young fans in college following him and rooting him, but there's no way I will ever root for Vince Young.

While I am a Longhorns fan and a fan of Vince Young and hopes that he does well. I Hope even more that the TEXANS do even better again the titans. why? Because then it would quiet alot of people down on all of the Vince followers.

Oh heck ya. I'm a UT fan, and not only that VY is kinda like my role model, and he's my favorite player. But I am not rooting for his team the Tennessee Titans though.

i have been a VY fan for a long time now. I am only going to be rooting for him when he is not playing the texans. However, when he IS playing the texans i hope he has a great game, yet the texans still win.

I actually went to Vince Young's going away party last night at Fox Sports Bar and Grill and had a great experience. Vince took the time to come out of the VIP section and walk amongst us little people. He signed anything and everything that people shoved in his face and was always sporting a smile. I have a newfound respect for him. He showed me how great of a guy he really is. So in short, Yes I am rooting for him.

I hope VY stays healthy and is never ever ever injured--and he throws more touchdowns for the Texans than for the Titans. :tease:

I second that. I think he's one of the best to ever wear burnt orange....but now he wears Columbia blue......

There are only three teams he could play for that would not allow me to root for him, and there was zero percent chance one would take him:

1. Pittsburgh
2. Dallas
3. Tennessee

I'll be cheering for Vince's personal success, but I hope the Titans never win anything...

Chow - No, the NFL helmets all have a facemask Vince

VY - hmmm
It's just VY trying to be gangsta with his hat/helmet.

VY is going to play football facing backwards in order to give everyone else a chance. :heh: (sorry couldn't resist another VY joke)

I bleed burnt orange, but those days are over for Vince now. Although I will always be grateful to him for his contributions to UT, he is a QB for a division rival now. I hope we crush him.

Yes, I will be rooting for him to do well.

I've often rooted for individual players to do well while hoping their team crashes. Can't I have both?

No, you can't have both. You are either with us or against us.

I feel this same way about Vince.

I've been a Vince Young fan too long to change now, even if he had been drafted by the Eagles.:)

I currently attend UT and am one of the biggest sports fans that youl'l ever see. Not that it really matters, but I am regularly painted up in orange and white for the football and basketball games.

That being said, I can't root for Vince's success unless he's on another team. It's unfathomable. In fact, I will be actively rooting for his failure (but don't tell anyone at UT. It seemed like some people were ready to lynch me when I said that in the dorms).

Why, oh why couldn't he have gone to the Cardinals? That woulda been fun...

But yeah...he plays for the Titans...traitorous scumbags that they are...so I can't root for him.

Local kid, stayed in Texas when he could have gone out of state....good kid coming from a bad background and evolving into a great role model...historical performances bringing positive attention to Texas and to Houston....wanted to play here in his hometown for the NFL as he loves Houston....yeah, I'm rooting for VY. I just hope we can beat him when he is standing in our way.

Well said Vinny. :hmmm: Vinny, VY? VY, Vinny? Wait a minute I think I am onto something here. :francis:

I'm shuddering at the thought of a 'girls fan cheering for my team :D

Well I'm rooting for Vince....... I'm not rooting for Tennessee though. What kind of a franchise would treat their Franchise for the last(however long it's been) throw him out on his ear, and draft "the next best thing".....

I hope Vince throws for 500 yards/game, and lose every one.

But I also like, and root for Leftwich..... Manning, Culpepper, Warner, Brooks, McNair, and Palmer..... I don't want any of them to win...... well, I'll root for Brooks to turn his thing around, and to take the Raiders to the playoffs..... but other than that.....

Saw my first Vince 10 jersey in public yesterday at the Orlando airport. To accessorize, the guy was (among other things) wearing these powder blue velvety looking pajama bottoms that dragged the 'Men on Football' flashbacks out of the recesses of my brain. Obviously someone from Austin or Nashville headed to Disney.

Couldn't have said it better. I don't think he's going to cut it in the NFL.

I'm not a UT fan nor a VY fan. So I hope VY flops as a NFL QB. Could never cheer for a player wearing a titans uni., butt adams signs the pay-check and I have no good use for him.

I will be rooting for Vince but not the Titans.

Texas Longhorn football is a big deal in my family and Vince has brought the goods. I can remember as a little kid the '83 Cotton Bowl and that muffed punt.

I went to both Rose Bowl games and were the best football games, or sporting events I have been to. And I have been to a lot games.

It is a great feeling for this long time fan to come from behind 12 points in less than six minutes with Vince at the helm and with everthing else he had done in the two years previous.

For all people that will not root for Vince or speak bad about him, you should remember he made it plainly clear he wanted to play for the Texans. McNair has made his choice, and as a season ticketholder I respect that.

But just because McNair has made his choice doesn't mean I can't be behind Vince Young as a player in the NFL. For what he brought to me as a Texas Longhorn football fan, he more than deserves that.

The mose important thing to the Texans is winning football games, not Vince Young.

Winning cures everything in football!

IT's nothing against Vince.......... but some people feel Vince has got to fail...... so that other individuals will look like successess..

That didn't work too well for me with Steve McNair. Initially it did. I was happy to see the Music City Miracle, but I think that meant something because it was the Bills in the wild card round. To think, Rob Johnson actually had a great game against the Titans in that game. History might be a bit different for him if they had won that...nah, he is still Rob Johnson.

They had served their purpose (getting revenge on Buffalo). Anyway, immediately after that I found myself rooting against them. I even found myself rooting for the Rams in the Super Bowl against them (Granted my best friend is a diehard Ram's fan), and it has been all downhill since they put the Titans and Texans in the same division.

I am not a Longhorn hater, so I rooted for him while he was in college. I am, however, a Titan hater and Vince falls into that category now. :hunter:
