Looking at the numbers I would not have a problem of Glenn Earl at SS and Jammal Lord at FS.

Then having C.C. Brown fill in at either position or in nickel positions.

Jammal Lord could make the team, but he's definately going to have to fight for his spot since Kubiak has done such a great job so far building our new team. I think starting is a little bit of a reach but our 5th and 6th round picks last year started a lot of games last year so anything can happen. I think Brown and Earl are solid in their safety positions anyway.

true true. I've heard somebody (maybe TC) say that michael stone was a kubiak favorite, so pencil him in at the FS spot.

Ha ha, I don't know if you read my comment or not, maybe we are just on the same wave length. I just have not heard too many people give props to Chris Mckenzie, Jamal Lord, Kevin Curtis, and John Walker all in the same post.

Don't forget that John Hoke is still the secondary coach, even though the scheme changes, I don't see someone going from practice squad to starter.

The only question is the roster can not support 13 DBs, 10 is usual amount. So my guess is either Mckenzie or JWalker is the 5th corner and Curits or Lord is the 4th safety and depending on the other choices the final DB spot will be eithr R Walker or JSimmons.
 
I would think Texans will put McKenzie on the 53 man roster and stick John Walker on the PS

Kevin Curtis will prolly be on the PS and Jammal on the 53 man roster

I see Simmons making the team without question and Ramon Walker getting released before season starts

how about those predictions

I think you're right about John Walker. Maybe he'll be like McKenzie should be this year and make the team in his second year. I think we keep Curtis before Lord if we keep any of the two on the 53 man roster.

I say Lord before Curtis; Practice squad players are typically better than NFLE players. Also, Lord has had more time to get acclimated to the NFL and Houston's system.
 
The only thing that's stopped Curtis is injuries...otherwise he could have been on a 53 man roster for a few years now. There is a reason he was drafted in the 4th round in 2002 and that's because he has talent. Realistically though they will both be practice squad players. I think Michael Stone and Ramon Walker are set in as backups to CC Brown and Glenn Earl and that's all we need at safety.

He did, but back when they ran the option all day. I find it funny how Eric Crouch, Scott Frost, and Jammal Lord all were QBs for Nebraska and ended up at different positions in the NFL. Also, I think that Lord and Curtis aren't elidgable for PS anymore, so if it comes down to it, Lord gets the nod. Just curious, what happened to our last NFLE product who had some serious hype around him, didnt he get cut? :ok:
 
This is year #3 for Lord at safety, so it is time for him put up or shut up. He has been on the practice squad for 2 years.

I beleive Curtis has been in the league for too long to be on the practice squad, even if he has been injured.

I think that is a big generalization to say pratcie squad players are typically better than NFLEurope players, even if you did say typically.

I say Curtis is a better safety then RWalker, but RWalker still makes the team because of his special teams play. However I do not see where Simmons fits unless he beats out Mckenzie for the final CB spot.
 
What is interesting about Jammal Lord that not alot of folks know, is he was drafted to play running back.

He is a pure athlete.

Jammal and Kevin both have good shots of making the 53 man roster, the only real difference in the two is injuries.

Jammal has never been injured in his NFL tenture, Kevin has been injured three times.

I give Jammal the nod. Curtis should be cut by the end of TC.

But don't get me wrong, Kevin Curtis is a remarkable athlete and has a perfect chance in Houston to make a statement.

Yea, I think that is right about JL being in 2k5

He is number 46 I think?

Now that he is 20 though, I would really like to see that number around the ball on the defensive side.

I could have sworn CC said safety on draft day, at the time the Texans had older safeties, Brown was drafted the next year as insurance

Umm, no--at least not by the Texans. Some game manufacturers may have anticipated that result, but the Texans said from day 1 he was going to be tried 1st at safety.
