Redskins Fans Thoughts On Mario Williams and DROY Award...

http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156653

Ignore the embarrassing homerism with Roger McIntosh.

I'll admit, I did not pick Mario Williams. Instead I picked Ernie Simms but then said the man will probally play so hard he'll blow his head off along with DROY Chances so I then gave it Kimberion Wimbley from the Cleveland Browns instead.

Just thought I'd let you Texans fans know what other fans were thinking of his chances.

Rocky McIntosh is a good pick for DROY, though they are probably just being homers like us. Or maybe I just have tend to overrate players from the U?

Yea lol, most of them were except FootballGuy2677(Me).

Roger McIntosh is a first rounder is just his size and knee injury along with the trouble of getting of blocks at times put him in the Second Round.

I think he can succeed in Gregg Williams system like most Linebackers do especially since hes created Linebackers out of a former safety(Lemar Marshall/Middle Linebacker) and a undrafted Free Agent(Antonio Pierce/Middle Linebacker). Then theres Marcus Washington who has never had under 130 Tackles in it.

-------------

Anyway, Mario Williams has a good shot. He has the measurables, speed, confidence, and skills and has a stud DE in Anthony Weaver who could attract double teams. Or If Mario Williams attracts double teams Anthony Weaver should dominate instead.

Although I heard Anthony Weaver was going to Defensive Tackle so...yea...

Oh and about Roger McIntosh being undersized supposely... He is 6 Foot 2 Inches, 231 Pounds (shakes head).

Note: Our Safety is the same size as Roger McIntosh....messed up,

In the end it doesnt matter, Williams will still be considered a bust unless he gets 20+ sacks, 4 picks, casues 8 fumbles, recovers 5 of them and a few defensive TD's. Even if he does all that, Reggie Bush would have to either not play or play REALLY REALLY BAD for Williams to be considered a better player in the publics eyes.

I think Mario is going to be a great player , Id love to have him on the 'Skins, but he is always going to be known as the guy the Texans took instead of Bush.
Looks like Skin fans are harder on him than alot of texan fans....Makes you really take notice of all the homerism on the board...

Actually, I agree with that. ESPN hyped Reggie Bush to a god-like status.

I predict that Bobby Carpenter will win DROY...But, I would not be too suprised in Mario wins it. I see him having a 50-60 tackle year, with roughly 4-6 sacks.

If Williams can come in and do that, I will be happy with what we got.

I would be o.k....but if Vince, or Reggie ended up doing better theres always going to be that what if factor...But I'm hoping Mario turns out to be the number one DE in the leauge...

funny how every thread has at least one reggie bush reference to the negative somewhere in it.

what a bunch of children.

edit: as a franchise, you guys have a lot to learn about being fans. don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch. saints fans know reggie isn't the whole team but you guys seem to think williams is your whole defense.. and well, he might be.
Nobody is saying that Williams is our whole defense, but rather that he will help our team more than reggie would. Newsflash he play in the same division as the Colts, Reggie or not we're not out scoring them, but have to stop them, defensively.

Also don't you think you are being a hypocrite comming here accusing us of praising Williams, when you go out of your way praising Bush (acting like he's the savior of your team). For god sakes all your posts here are about him, btw hows the hammy doing and have you signed him yet. You don't see Texan fans going to your official team's message board pimping Williams. (oh I forgot you don't have one)

word....go troll somewhere else.but anyways i have an oddball pick of ngata.his stats wont be great, but i feel he can really have an impact on their team this year by allowing ray to get back to what he does best.but i also dont think double digit sacks is out of the question for mario.that would lock it up.

We're not anit-bush, we're just pro-team. As a bandwagoning troll, you have a lot to learn about respect. You don't hop onto another teams MB, slander their top pick who is already signed and isn't down with an injury. Sufice to say, we have more defensive talent than your team has offensive talent. Mario was just a key piece, a coner stone to our team. Think Carolina and what Peppers did for that defense. Reggie's is going to be a large contract, and he will split time at best this year, but unfortunatly what you don't realize is that he is VERY likely to do that for the remainder of his career. Homerism is quite obvious in every sense of your posts, and your fan-base in general. I know your city is looking for someone to cling to, but a one-legged holdout is not the answer.

I would have acutally looked forward to a BOBO comment versus reading this one. It is a shame that NOLA does not realize this pick was just a marketing ploy. If they drafted anyone else the city would back them still like they have in the past, but now that GOD has entered the gates of NOLA... The saints can come marching in. That will be their new fight song entering Hop-A-Long Bush leading the band playing "As the Saints Come Marching In"

Hey stop back when you have signed him and not broke the bank because he has already pushed the fact that he is going to want more than Williams. Can you guys afford that. for a Part Time RB???

See you in the playoffs... Well at least you will be watching us on TV.

Au contraire mon freire it is you who has a lot to learn. There is no chicken nor egg on your property until you own it as there is no lay away in the NFL. You are correct in that we should not count our chickens before they are hatched, but at least we have something signed.

I like AJ Hawk to win DROY award. He seems like the most ready to play stud defensive player in the draft. The Packers will be on the verge of the playoffs (8-8/9-7) this year.

I really disagree. I don't think Hawk will be DROY or terribly close, I don't even think he will be the most productive LB this year (Ernie Simms). I also REALLY disagree that the packers will be 8-8/9-7. They did very little to improve their team, and Farve and his errors are coming back for another round of 25 picks or so.

I have to say that I am a little scared of the packers defense this year. I think they made the biggest moves regarding defenses with the addition of AJ and the other LB from Iowa, and signing Woodson... That was their weekest parts of their defense was their LBs and secondary getting burned.

Although I have not seen any reason to be scared of Favre yet as he lost 3 of his 5 Offensive lineman in the past two seasons so we will see if he can stay off his back. I hope not.

I predict a linebacker to win the award. Give me AJ Hawk. I think he is going to a team that has an underrated defense. He will have the help of Woodson at CB, and Barnett at linebacker. The defense will be in the top 10, and AJ will get the points for it.

Top 5

AJ Hawk
Ernie Sims
Mario Williams
Brodrick Bunkley
Demeco Ryans
