Coaching Staff - A+

3960AD

Noob
I was just reading another forum and forgot that we had Mike Sherman. Nice.. what role is he playing again? Offensive Coordinator? Assistant Head Coach?

Jesus thats an amazing combination. Sherman and Kubiak. I think its as good or better than Kubiak and Shanahan (Denver) combination. Lets see if it pays off for us.

We got Richard Smith as our DC. He did ok at Miami, they had tons of sacks. Hopefully he could do the same thing with our Dline.

Overall, I think we have a good combination.. on defense and offense.

Yea...I have been saying this...Our coaching staff is one of the better ones in the league.

I believe his formal title is "Assistant Head Coach in charge of the Offensive Line" or something along those lines...

Thanks... I wonder where on offense Kubiak would help the most. It looks like we have a rookie WR coach. Kid looks 18 ...

Well if Sherman can make something out of this train wreck of an offensive line, he will have well earned his money. Same with Smith if he can get any significant snaps out of the right corners and patched quilt safties. Only granny sews that well. We'll see.

Our staff has one coach on it that has any head coaching experience at any level. The jury is still out until we practice and play some games.

true that, but I like our odds

I am optimistic as well, but I am not all in until I see these guys perform on the field.

call it a case of Blind Faith if you must but I love the changes both substractions (Casserly/Capers/staff) plus additions (2006 draft class, f/a aquistions & Kubiac/staff). its finally gonna start being fun & the earlier your on board not only the more fun you'll have you can also say I told you so

Believe me I am extremely happy about the old staff being gone and the acquisitions we have made, but re signing Carr is more of the same in my opinion as he still touches the ball every snap. There is no way to coach a player what to do on the fly such as a QB, WR or RB. The defense and the Oline I think we will see the most improvement. What is comical around here is that the bulk of off season is over and we think by Cass resigning we just got better. Just does not make sense and frankly is pretty petty and sophomoric.

What is comical is apprarently not understanding that a GM plays a role in all personell decisions.

Not speaking for Porky, but I like our offseason. For the first time, I am genuinely, sincerely excited about our prospects for this upcoming season, and not merely hoping that somehow, Capers and Co. will screw up less this time around.

Obviously, time will tell, and we do have a tough schedule, but in my esteem, an 8-8 season is very possible.

While I certainly hope this to be true with all my heart and soul, it is a subjective opinion at this point. You're only as good as your last season in the NFL, and without a point of reference, we really don't know how well this staff will perform. Only a few months to go to find out, tho'! (It can't get here soon enough!)

Porky, stop implying that I'm too young for the job!

And somebody change my diaper! Now!!!!

Your sufficiently experienced wide receiver coach,

Kyle Shanahan

This offseason was good. So, once every 4 years he gets it right. I like the 25% ratio. I think by 2423 if we keep adding to the nucleous, maybe we make the playoffs with that kind of ratio. And yes, I know, he is a weak GM and only listens to his coaches yada, yada, yada. What happened to the buck stops here?

I agree with this. Our O-line has sucked for 4 years and we need to get some improvement going on it. I see on another thread some with short memories are already predicting a run at the playoffs for us. Yeah right, we are going from 30th on offense and 31st on defense to the playoffs in one year. Yeah, that will happen.

I'm starting to think that we are the only fans in the NFl that a) know how old their WR coach is and b) care (I'm not sure care is the right word...concerned, maybe) about it enough to even talk about it.
