What "Present Day" Rb does reggie bush remind you of?

Texas

Veteran
He really reminds me mostly of Ladanian Tomlinson as far as his college career goes. I beleive he will look something like michael bennet when its all over because I beleive he is a bust.

The bust will be Mario Williams. His stats don't back up his selection as a number one overall pick. I think he will be a decent player, but not at all deserving of that pick. Reggie is an amazing athlete whom we will watch have a productive and electrifying career and regret not picking for years.

I dont think that was the question?

He's saying that in response to the fact that you said that Reggie Bush is going to be a bust.

I believe he will be something like LT for most of his career, and maybe end it sort of in like Brett Favre except as a QB.

I totally agree.

As far as running and receiving skills, the only back I can think of is Marshall Faulk, because he was so good catching the ball. However, Reggie has better moves and is more dangerous in the open field than Faulk. He really reminds me a lot of Gayle Sayers, but with better receiving skills.

I think our offense will Mould just fine. Love Putzier's addition too. I think I am one of the few who still has faith in Carr. Give him time to throw and I and I think he will win games. I agree with the comparisons of Tomlinson and still say that we will regret that decision for years.

I went back and watched the RoseBowl again..... while Reggie Pretty much trucked Cedric Griffen on the 1st/2nd play of the game, I wouldn't compare him to LT.....

Running the ball, he looks a lot like Barry Sanders.... there really hasn't been anyone(I think) in the league with the vision and creativity(for lack of a better word) to juke & elude defenders since Barry decided not to play anymore.

His speed, & his burst reminds me of Steve Smith, & Willie Parker..... damn he's fast.

But as great as those players are, I don't think they would've helped this team last year, even if we had them all on the field at the same time. Our Problem wasn't in our run game. It wasn't with our recievers. Coaching, Offensive Line, and QB.... If you watched any of our games in 2005, there's no way you could deny that.

We've seen what happened to Peyton Manning, Jake Delhomme, Eli Manning, and Jake (the real "Snake") Plummer, when they faced the kind of pressure our QB faced on a weekly bassis, against the worst(as well as the best) teams in the NFL.

Edgerin James, Reggie Wayne, and Marvin Harris....... all elite at their positions couldn't stop the rush from getting to Manning. Who has arguably the best offensive line in the league.

Ahley Lelie, Rod Smith, Tatum Bell, & Ron Dayne...... couldn't Keep that Pittsburgh D off Jake Plummer....... Again, all Elite, and arguably the best offensive line in the NFL.

Steve Smith..... arguably the most explosive player in the NFL in 2005, couldn't keep The Seattle Seahawks off Jake Delhomme.

Tikki Barber, Armani Toomer, Plaxico Buress.......... not enough to keep the Panthers off Eli.

The Texans passed on Reggie Bush, and I don't think they'll look back..... Even if Reggie is gets 350 yards a game & 5 touchdowns a game. As long as we're winning, it doesn't matter....... and we're going to win a lot of football games with Mario helping us out.

Oh man!!! Why couldn't you have joined the board sooner and posted that? Maybe someone from the Texans who reads these boards would have seen it and passed it on to Casserly and Kubiak and we could have saved some embarrassment.:sarcasm:

Clinton Portis, that's what he could have been in Denver's (our) system, but as you saw they traded him off for a shutdown CB and haven't missed a beat and I think our offense can do just fine without him and we'll be better off with Mario.

Reggie bush reminds me of a very underrated RB i think reggie will be just fine in the nfl he is going to be the second coming of warrick dunn.:hides:

I must agree that Bush has talent but the NFL is not college. I just watched a few video clips and noticed a lot of giant holes and slow defensive players in the highlight reels.

To me he looks like Emmit Smith but Emmit made a lot of it happen on his own. My money is that Bush will become a typical running back as opposed to a Sayers.

Sorry, I still feel the Texans were wise to pass on him this season.

I just felt like it needed to be repeated.

They looked slow in comparison.

I don't see the Bush-Emmitt Smith comparisons, totally different styles of runners. Domanick Davis reminds me a lot of Emmitt Smith, similar size, speed, catching abilities, solid runners, although Davis obviously hasn't shown the durability thusfar and likely never will. As for Gale Sayers, he was a phenomenal athlete like Bush and a great allround player, but he didn't exaclty tear the league up running the ball:

Sayers did have a big impact on special teams too, but he wasn't a guy that rewrote any running records or anything like that, so maybe this is the type of career Bush will end up having (I personally hope he has a great carrer, as long as Mario has a great career and the Texans succeed too and we don't have to hear about our pick from every person in the media for the next 10 years).

While Eric Metcalf isn't modern he would be the closest thing I would compare Bush too. A little guy who will have a good NFL career as a utility guy out of the backfield.

Bush will NOT BE a Tomlinson type back, mark my words.
