Law and/or Plummer

These two still remain in the FA market. Plummer is expected to go for the minimum salary to the Titans, because that's all they can fit in their salary cap situation. Should we entertain a pickup of this guy? He's had injury problems and some other items, but the guy is pretty good. He's been with a bad organization and bad coaching.

Law I would love to have, but he simply wants too much right now. I still think we should bring him here and see the facilities and talk about tax advantages of being a Texan. Although, he does like to get paid, but he is a talent and would be a fine mentor for DROB, not that DROB is bad. It just would give him someone else to help him refine his techniques.

Kubiak said that our DBs are one of our strengths. Maybe between MacKenzie(sp?), Buchanon, & Faggins the CB opposite Dunta will be OK with an improved front 7.

I really wish we could get one of those two but the odds are not good like everyone said Kubiak said he thinks that CB is one of our strengths.

The following is a link to an article on Ahmed and this problems.

Seems like he tried to stay a part of the organization. As I understand his situation he is still getting or got a lot of money from the 49er's despite his release. He could be a real cheap pickup and he is a CB. He could add a lot of competition for Buchannon, if he is healthy.

Three things about it are:

1) The Titans are hurting on cap space and can't offer much and I wouldn't mind offering a little more to pull someone they like from their grasp.

2) I think from reading and what I heard in the past of 49er's interviews this guy was really good his 1st 4 years and sounds like he was a team guy who tried to remain in the organization. He's the kind of guy I think Kubiak could do wonders with. Its hard to attend meetings where you are not wanted. That took a lot of guts.

3) The only remaining question is he healthy and are his current injuries behind him. He's young enough to give us a few years and he sounds like he might be hungry enough.

I like the idea of having Plummer here a lot and I don't only think he'd give Buchanon competition but that he'd beat him out for #2 corner. I wouldn't mind paying him to come here but it's not up to me, it's up to the front office so I just don't see it happening.

plummer would be good enough to be our #2 and thats saying a lot considering he is bad. Ive watched him for 5 years now and he goes down hill more and more each season. He has horrible work ethic and doesnt play through pain. He gets beat on the deep ball, ALOT! Big WRs just eat him alive.

With that being said i think if we got someone to show Buchcanon how to play the position he would be a good #2. The guy can cover he just never turns and tries to make a play on the ball, but he is in the face of a lot of receivers.

Thanks, those are interesting comments. May be that's what Kubiak has seen. I know some have said he's not down on Buchannon, so may be Kubiak realizes Buchannon has't had good coaching. We and the Raiders haven't had the best coaching staff the last several years.

My views on Plummer are also based on the price difference and the age difference between Law and Plummer. Your raising questions about his true ability to cover and that's valid. Like to hear what others think about these two guys.
