To summarize on this fine Monday morning. Texans fans are left as roadkill for the machevellian manuevering at the highest levels of finance. Texans fans are lectured by the prince of pomposity Mr. Casserly as to why they need to keep their traps shut and let the pros take care of the club.

The league: We have two huge problems to deal with and they are related. How to show the rest of the country we tried our best in NO and...how to get the hell out of NO as soon as possible. With Reggie Bush they had the leverage they needed to accomplish both goals. He'll light up the highlight reels next year and give the poor folks in NO a show. Then he'll be dangled in front of his home town peeps as an inducement to get them to move the franchise to LA. McNair playing the willing part of the proud hurt billionaire would tell Reggie to stick it after his agent said all the right(wrong) things to get a billionaire seeing red. The fans in Houston, an after-thought.

Paint the pig's lips. We the fans got punked. Next year's season ticket holder got majorly punked. He was willing to trade the W for the lightning in a bottle. Long term I'm sure this will be the money move, LOL. People looking to be part of a phenomenon need to find another thrill on Sundays.
 
is this the first angry "the nfl made us do it" post? everybody check your cards, who won the pool? i'm looking at V-Man, i think you came closest by guessing that 8:30 would be the time of the first conspiracy theory.

Glad to hear it. You happy that Reggie Bush pulled a stealth Eli Manning? He didn't have any intention of signing with the Texans. He wants to be with the LA (insert new team name) by way of NO. This was a setup from the get go. They just did it stealth style so there wouldn't be a furor.

I guess it's all a matter of the perspective you choose to take.
 
It is unbelievable that some people just don't take no for an answer. First it was because Bush is a cheating hoodlum, then because he wanted 70 billion dollars, then it was because Casserly was trying to flash us all the middle finger on his way out, and lastly, McNair obviously secretly hates his fans and wants to tank his billion dollar franchise, because he gets off on pain.

I have read of one crazy conspiracy theory after another on these boards, but bottom line, plain and simple, this was, is, and always will be a football decision, no matter what BS editorial you read: Reggie Bush is potentially a game-changing running back, and we needed a potentially game-changing defensive end a whole lot more.

End of story, cut and dried. Take your conspiracy theories and write a novel, but if you are a fan of this team or this league and are intelligent in the least, I hope you will embrace this for what it is. Once the bile settles.

P.S. I love this draft and I am excited about this upcoming season. Have not been this excited since they announced we were going to have a team here. Though I have attended many games I have never held season tickets (financial constraints) and I finally had the opportunity to sign up for them the other day, and was told that there is currently a 3-4 year waiting list. If you dislike the direction this team is taking, I invite you to turn your tix in, or sell them directly to me: I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Answer this question? Do you think they would have signed Bush if he worked with them to get a deal done early? All indications I get are that they would have taken Reggie Bush if he made it easy enough. He didn't and they gave up. And I'm supposed to be impressed here? Sorry, I know all the reasons for taking Williams and such but please don't sell us a bill of goods as to why it ended up the way it did. We didn't get our guy because he didn't want to be here. Be honest and we can move on.

"All indications" ... that's your first problem. You are buying into what the talking heads are offering because they, like you, are so blinded by Bush's potential/hype that they refuse to see anything different. Read Michael Smith's ESPN column, and listen to me when I tell you that I know this had nothing to do with money, that was a Casserly smokescreen. Williams was the guy since he interviewed here. We signed Williams to more than we offered Bush. If you doubt my knowledge regarding the team I invite you to review my thread in which I called the Williams pickup a good few hours before ESPN or anyone else broke the news. I am not selling you anything but the truth, you can believe what you want but just know that you are wrong.

How do you know so much? Are you in management or guessing just like everyone else? How can you say it wasn't a sign-ability issue when all indications point to it being a sign-ability issue. This is the fallout you get with having a leaderless team. Basically they didn't think they could reign in Bush and were afraid of him being bigger than the team. The tent wasn't big enough. Nobody was going to tell championship familiar McNair how to run his championship organization. And Bush didn't want to be here. Period.

Lol my sources stay private. My writing is my resume and it speaks for itself. Like I say, believe what you want, but it had nothing to do with cash. It was a football decision all the way.

I have to say, I thought Mario was drafted due to onfield factors, but now I'm hearing all of these McNair quotes stating that he didn't want a holdout and other statements about the finances of the situation. If you assume that Carr can be a premier QB in this league, which you have to do if your Kubiak, then Mario is the right pick; it's simply not wise to tie up all the cap on offense.

A few days have gone by and I still can't understand why they would pass on Reggie Bush. Is Casserly trying to end ticket sales, or is he just trying to commit suicide. I am sure I am not the only fan that feels that way. Hopefully someday Mario Williams will record 30 sacks in a season, it would take that sort of season to take our thoughts away from Reggie Bush.
