i am starting to develop fear!

Ryan

THIS YEAR
over the past two days, i have had this really bad feeling that the texans will make the biggest mistake ever and not pick reggie bush!! Its been worrying me that they will take mario williams, who should hardly make the top 10!! I know the VY thing is down the toilet now which also kind of upsets me bc he will be drafted most likely to the tennessee titans who we see two time a year. Reggie Bush is the most exciting player to come out of the draft in years and the texans will be foolish if they pass that up!!!-Ryan

MSN implied on their home sports page that the Texans will take whichever player they can sign to a deal first. It said they are hot and heavy with Mario's agent trying to get him signed.

I wanted Vince all along but that isn't happening.

A.) The Texans already have Dominick Davis and have signed him to a well-deserved multi-year contract. Without Bush, the Texans would still be set at RB with a good player who could even become pretty close to Bush if the OL improves. Remember, Bush got all his yards behind one of the best OLs in college. Put a rookie back behind a bad OL and, well, you might get J.J. Arrington all over again. B.) If the Texans don't take Williams, then NO will take him at #2. Where do you get the idea that Williams isn't even in the top 10? C.) Like I've said many times, this isn't fantasy football where you take the guy who scores the TDs. The Texans at this time have nobody to rush the passer but they do have someone who can rush the ball. Take into account that Weaver can't rush the passer and is an injury waiting to happen, they'll need someone like Peek who can replace him/come in and rush the passer when need be. D.) For where the Texans are right now, Williams is the guy. Many say that the best pick in the 2002 draft was Julius Peppers, not David Carr. Maybe that same thinking will take hold on Saturday.

The logical pick is Williams and from what John McClain says, that's what will happen.

This thing is crazy. John started out with the team taking Vince, changed it to Reggie and is now switching again.

If they don't take Reggie I wonder why?

Yeah, just got a call from my dad (in houston) who said 610 just reported that...

A.) It looks like the Texans may have reached an agreement w/ Mario - 5 yrs w/ an option yr, and....

B.) Casserly is gone after the draft to take that position in the NFL office.

Never in my life have I seen the man so irate. Hope he doesn't kill anyone driving home on 45 south. (And I hope this report is false.)

I think EGO, HOUSE GATE, FAMILY ATTITUDE, and GREED did them in. I posted earlier Bush's world was collapsing around him. It has. Now, look at who they get to negoiate with. NO or BUD, but may be not. Could Bush now fall a long way in the draft.

Two words -- Dominick Davis.

I don't care if we take Super Mario, I would just hope we don't take him as a #1 pick.

I still this all this is hot air trying to drive Bush's contract down.

I really don't think the NFL cares that Reggie's family was blackmailed by some shady sports agent.

Especially since he's claiming to not have any knowledge.

Regardless of what he did or did not know, I hope those agents rot in jail.

I think if the Texans don't take Reggie the Saints will.

I have to admit I'm surprised if the Texans do take Mario. We've been hearing for months it would be Reggie.

This is absolutely ludicrous. How much friggin' money are they going to spend on Defensive Ends. They just signed Peek to a 1st round tender. Picked Babin in the 1st round two years ago. And signed Weaver to a huge contract. Now they're looking to add a fourth DE... with the 1st overall pick? This doesn't make sense even by the Texans' standards.

Unfortunately, I think there is more to the story than we know and McNair and company were scared off. To big of an investment to have somethink funky hanging over them. I think they were also trying to bleed McNair dry and it didn't work. Williams is really the better player for the Texans. Its going to be interesting.

AMEN Brother.

This is the best thing for the Texans. And before long all of the fantasy football GM's will see it.

Bush is liable to really tumble. NO doesn't need him with Deuce and I'll bet the Saints are crying crocodile tears tonight because they were counting on Williams. After all, they aren't going to take a QB since they already have one and no need for a RB either. They might even take D'Brickshaw. Then the Titans will probably take Young/Leinert.

My question now is why Weaver? Or, better yet, does Weaver switch to DT? I am assuming that Williams will start at SDE, Robaire and TJ/Weaver at DT and Babin/Peek at WDE. This leaves us with 4 quality, and expensive, DE (unless Weaver makes the switch I earlier predicted) and 3 starting quality DT's. If everything works out well, we could have one of the best D-lines in football, which could mean one of the best defenses in football, combined with the already improved offense. Things should be very interesting come Phillidelphia.
