Your Houston Texans Draft Guess

Blake

Pick who you think will be chosen in each round by the Texans. Whoever gets the most picks right WINS!

Ill start this thing off.

Round 1: Reggie Bush, RB, USC
Round 2: Darnell Bing, S, USC
Round 3: Ray Edwards, DE, Perdue
Round 3: Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas
Round 4: Clint Ingram, ILB, Oklahoma
Round 6: Paul Pinegar,QB, Fresno St.
Round 7: Frostee Rucker, DE, USC

You're Up.

I would, but I will not lie, after the fourth round it is a crapshoot & I dont know many players after that. I know I want Reggie first, Erik Winston second.

Okay, I will play along. This is my basic Texans mock I drew up a few weeks ago. This includes no trades, which I suspect at least one of these picks will be used in a trade.

1. Reggie Bush - HB (USC)

2. Thomas Howard - OLB (UTEP)

3a. Daryn Colledge OT/OG (Boise St)
3b Alan Zemaitis - CB/safety? (Penn State)

4. Anthony Smith - FS (Syracuse)

6. Anthony Schlegel - ILB (Ohio St)

7. Chris Kuper - OG (North Dakota)

Even Vince Young picks Reggie Bush. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

This isnt who I want. Just who I think the Texans will select. I still like Reggie Bush.

Round 3: Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas
Round 4: Troy Reddick, OT, Auburn
Round 6: Justin Wyatt, CB, USC

1. Mario Williams
2. Jonathan Joseph
3a. Rocky McIntosh
3b. Daryn College
4. Antoine Bethea
6. Leon Washington
7. dont care

Assuming this rumor of trade back into the first is of usual KFFL quality (weren't they the same people who said we were trading Carr for Ricky Williams?):

1. Williams
2. Winston (if he falls that far) or more likely J Joseph

Past that, no clue in hell. I don't know enough about the players still available, so it would be pointless to guess.

1. Reggie Bush, RB USC
2. Eric Winston, OT Miami
3a. Abdul Hodge, ILB Iowa
3b. Pat Watkins, FS FSU (or best DB available, possibly Cedric Griffen)
4. Victor Adeyanju, DE Indiana (possibly Ray Edwards, Chris Chester, or Greg Enslinger)
6. Will Blackmon, CB BC (fingers crossed, could also see us taking him in the 4th)

Round 1: Reggie Bush, RB, USC
Round 2: Ko Simpson, S, SC
Round 3: Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas
Round 3: Daryn Colledge, OT, Boise St.
Round 4: David Pittman, CB, NW St.
Round 6: Reggie Mcneal, QB, A&M
Round 7: Frostee Rucker, DE, USC
move pitts to gaurd, word on the street is he would do better as an interior lineman

As a counterpoint to the drool, I don't think Blue is that great of a prospect due to physical limitations, namely that he is slower than my Grandmother is right now (God rest her soul). I see him as a 5th rounder at best, but he might be a good value pick at that point. I don't want any part of him on the 1st day. I saw the dude run at the combine. He is slooowwwwwwwww. :ok:

I'll play along as well.

1st Round: Reggie Bush, RB, USC

2nd Round: Abdul Hodge, LB, Iowa

3rd Round: (1) Ko Simpson, FS, South Carolina (2) Darryl Tapp, DE, Virginia Tech

4th Round: Daryn Colledge, OT, Boise St.

6th Round: Tony Scheffler, TE, Western Michigan

7th Round: Kevin Boothe, OG, Cornell

I will puke if we draft Greg Blue, and I'm a Georgia fan. After the Auburn debacle I was down on him and then came the West Virginia game. :brickwall

1. Reggie Bush RB USC 5'-11" 202 4.39
2. Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College 6'-6" 266 4.74
3. Ko Simpson FS S Carolina 6'-1" 209 4.49
3. Daryn Colledge OL Boise State 6'-5" 299 5.05
4. Gerris Wilkinson LB Georgia Tech 6'-3" 238 4.69
6. Brad Butler OT Virginia 6'-7" 310 5.35
7. Will Mongomery OL Virginia Tech 6'-3" 300 5.12

1. M. Williams (DE) - I gotta believe.
2. D. Jackson (MLB) - Best in the draft by most rankings but could make it out of the 1st.
3a. J. Scott (OT) - Could be a steal.
3b. D. Manning (CB/S) - Top Sleepr in the draft in most opinion.

Quite frankly after that I don't know enough to guess on it.

They are all offensive linemen with Mario Williams being the exception.

1.Mario Williams
2.Eric Winston
3.Andrew Whitworth
4.Fred Matua
5.Troy Reddick
6.Pascal Matla
7.E J Whitley

Did I just hear Bob McNair say on KTRK that Defense wins superbowls? I am now an official supporter of the "Texans for Defense Commission" as Bush appears to be a ploy to reduce MW's value.

1. Reggie Bush - RB - USC
2. Jonathan Joseph - DB - USC (Carolina that is)
3. Abdul Hodge - LB - Iowa
3. Daryn Colledge - OT - Boise St
4. Mark Setterstrom - OG - Minnesota
6. Barrick Nealy - QB - Tx St
7. Rashad Butler - OT - Miami

I'll play. Danish Texan's Mock featured Kiwi @ 33. Makes sense to me.
Down with Davin Joseph or Jason Allen @ the 33.

1. Prince Reggie RB USC
2. Miathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College
3. Abdul Hodge ILB Iowa
3. Daniel Manning CB/S ACU
4. Jeremy Trueblood ORT Boston College
6. Reggie McNeil Slash Texas Agricultural & Mechanical
7. Jason Spitz OG/C Louisville

Believe my 7 will be the steal of the draft.

Mario Williams would be my choice after that take the BPA. I'm hoping this draft goes like some of my ebay sales, in the very last minute have a deal that the Texans can't refuse.

Here is my 3-round mock draft I just posted, so check that out and leave your comments:

http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zone/messageboards/showthread.php?t=21832

This is what the Texans ended up with (a couple of trades involved, go check out my mock for thorough description), I'm sure it's a rather unique view on things:

1) Mario Williams, DE
26) Laurence Maroney, RB
65) Daryn Colledge, OT
77) Gerris Wilkinson, LB
109) Antoine Bethea, S
170) Marques Colston, WR
252) BPA - not going to lose any sleep over this one

I am quite sure this will closely resemble our draft if these players fall to the position I have us taking them.
