Raiders | Rumor alert: NFL Draft trade
Tue, 25 Apr 2006 08:51:03 -0700

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports one rumor making the rounds has the New York Jets (No. 4) swapping their first-round pick with the Oakland Raiders (No. 7), who want a quarterback.

Raiders | Brooks is not the answer
Tue, 25 Apr 2006 09:27:45 -0700

Steve Corkran, of the Contra Costa Times, reports the Oakland Raiders do not see QB Aaron Brooks as a long-term solution at quarterback. They will probably take a quarterback in the upcoming draft, perhaps as early as the first round.

i see it happening to.

actually they don't want a quarterback at all. a raiders fan should be able to tell when davis is toying with the media.

Where does it say they want Leinart? They are likely after VY.

FWIW--Peter King reported VY's meeting with Al Davis was very brief and in his opinion didn't show any real interest.

yep, davis talks to prospective draftees for several hours. the young visit was a half-hour at the most. says a lot.

If a QB slips to Al Davis that they have the highest rated player available, I could see him pulling the trigger, but with the amount of holes they need to address in the draft, I cannot see him trading up for one. Of course, this is Al Davis we're talking about.

They need safety help, offensive guard, could use a quarterback if they don't think Walter fits the direction they're going in and most of all, linebacker help.

When you've got Tyler Brayton and Grant Irons playing OLB you know you have some issues.

Wouldn't be surprised with a QB pick at 7, but would be if they traded up.
