What would you do if....

Imagine it is Saturday and Tagliabue walks to the podium with the first overall selection. What would be your reaction in each of the following scenarios?

They stay put and take:
1. Reggie Bush
2. Vince Young
3. Mario Williams
4. Other
They trade down:
5. We get significantly more value than the draft value chart rates the #1 selection
6. We get roughly the same draft value as the chart

Also, if we traded down, what is the lowest you would be willing to go? If you want us to stay put, just answer "1".

1. I'll be happy
2. Nobody values VY as the #1 pick. I would have been fine with us trading down to take him, if Carr wasn't just extended.
3. A bit dissapointed, but I'd get over it.

Given our true needs, given we already have a QB, given we already have a good RB with another RB with excellent potential - you take Mario Williams.

I'd do one of those little fake claps you see people do at opera's or whatever. You know, they approve of the performance, but they don't want to over exert themselves in their celebration.

2. Vince Young
Ever watch a soccer game?? when the guy scores a goal, and rips his shirt off and runs around the stadium?? Well, I'll be at Reliant. if you see a slow fat guy running around without a shirt........... that's me.

3. Mario Williams
I'll do my Tiger Woods, "Yes" with a conservative fist pump.

If it's D'Brick, I think high fives are in order........ high fives all around.

I'd probably act the same way I did when Vince led UT to two scores inside of 6 minutes on the defending national champions. Sayin OMG........ OMG....... did you just see..... did he just........... OMG.....

WTF??

As long as we get two Firsts, I'd be willing to drop out of the top 10.

I dont know what i want anymore lol

1. Reggie Bush

I'll be okay with it.

2. Vince Young

I'll be okay with it.

3. Mario Williams

I'll probably punch a wall and yell something obscene.

4. Other
They trade down:
5. We get significantly more value than the draft value chart rates the #1 selection

Sounds great to me.

6. We get roughly the same draft value as the chart

Good, I guess.

We have to stay in the top 4 picks AND my happiness for who we get depends on the position from where we got them.

If this MessageBoard supported PivotTables and excel spreadsheets, I could easily post a graphical representative matrix of my happiness/player/draft position contentment.

To put it simply, if we draft at #1, bush makes me the happiest, anywhere else, Williams makes me the happiest.

Given all those scenarios I will take a deep breath, and cherr on the newest Texan, or the prospect of getting even more new Texans.

Oh and I would like to stay in the top 6 spots.

I'm OK if they pick Williams or trade down for chart value. I'm also OK with them drafting Young only if they pre-work a deal to get some serious value for David Carr. I see that as a freaking pipedream so I'm not too focused on it at this point.

As for the trade down, I'd be OK with dropping down as low as 6 for the first return 1st rounder. I'd like to see the early picks go to 2 defensive players (one rush end and one cover corner). Later picks would fill in positions such as OL, TE, DE, LB and more DB prospects. IMO, we don't need RB, QB (unless we are going for a wholesale change with Young and planning to trade Carr for some SERIOUS value) or WR.

I'll probably be disappointed when they end up picking Reggie.

They stay put and take:
1. Reggie Bush I'd be thrilled to see what he can do for our offense and would be completely unsurprised
2. Vince Young I would be upset that they take him at #1 when he's not worth the pick for our team, but I'm 100% sure that won't happen so I'm not worrying about it
3. Mario Williams I would honestly be a little surprised that they actually did it, but I'd be doubly thrilled because I think he would bring the greatest positive impact to our team
4. Other
They trade down:
5. We get significantly more value than the draft value chart rates the #1 selection Depends on who we draft with our new top pick, if we get Mario or Bush then I'm ecstatic, if we settle for someone else but get a really great deal (as in both this years 1sts and next year's 1st from the Jets or maybe 49ers) then I'd be ok with it as long as we use the other added picks intelligently
6. We get roughly the same draft value as the chart Depends on who we take with our first pick, if we still get Mario or Bush then that's great, if we have to settle for someone else I'm upset

Also, if we traded down, what is the lowest you would be willing to go? If you want us to stay put, just answer "1". Just stay at 1 unless we get both this year's 1sts and next year's 1st from the Jets, or the same deal plus a 2nd from the 49ers

Added my answers in bold

really i just see it as a choice between Mario and Reggie and i would be happy with either.

a trade down with the jets or SF would be very interesting in my opinion and id watch every minute of day 1 then with #4/#6, #22/#29,#33, #35/#37, #65,#66

i'll be sad for a brief moment if they take reggie bust, and anything else i'll be excited about.

Reggie Bust?

They're all busts until they play an NFL game or two.

Come on, now. I don't want us to take VY...but I won't stoop to the level of saying he's going to be a bust.

Only an injury is going to stop Bush from doing pretty well in the NFL.

1. Reggie Bush - i'd be okay with it
2. Vince Young - i'd probably kill someonne
3. Mario Williams - i'd be extremely happy
4. Other - anyone other than d'brickshaw i'd be upset, except MAYBE AJ
They trade down:
5. We get significantly more value than the draft value chart rates the #1 selection - i'd be so happy i'd cry
6. We get roughly the same draft value as the chart - as long as we land d'brick or mario i'd be pleased.

Its not stooping, its predicting. It wont even take an injury...just a defensive coordinator with a few brain cells. Mark me down as saying it.....this isnt a new position for me.

1. I would be happy
2. I would be happy
3. I would be happy
4. I would be a little confused
5. I would be ecstatic
6. I would be a little confused

1. I'm OK, not thrilled.
2. Thrilled.
3. Better than 1, not as good as 2.
4. Depends who the tiger is.
5 & 6. Thrilled.
