thanks bongo.

not really the news i wanted to hear but at least its news....and he's not kidding...its a lot to sift through.

here's the meat and potatoes of it:

3 team deal.

raiders want to move up to #2
saints want to move down to #4
jets want to move down to raiders #7.

raiders want leinert.
saints want mario.
jets want brick.

tom condon and al davis are the 2 biggest players on trying to get this going...a number of other teams have been contacted and may take a role if one of the 3 cant agree on compensation.

this deal does not include the texans but spells bad news on any chance for us to trade back. we have no leverage and the rest of the nfl isnt buying that we wont pick bush.

porter likely to be invollved in the trade.

thanks again bongo. even if its bs its entertainment.

If that does happen, then I think it is foregone that Vince will be the new Titans QB. Personally, I think they'd prefer Leinart, but will be fine with VInce.

I think the Jets would get the 7th and not the 2nd and 7th. Probably just a typo.

Does anybody else think the Saints are getting screwed because they are only getting the 103rd pick and the 4th? Is this trade supposedly done on from a money standpoint from the Saints point of view? Or are their possibly players moving in this deal (someone mentioned porter) like Stallworth or something.

Cruiser: I joined the army 'cause my father and my brother were in the army. I figured I better join before I got drafted.

Sergeant Hulka: Son, there ain't no draft no more.

Cruiser: There was one?

for a guy who "can't say a lot," he sure says a LOT.

the general thought here appears to be that an NFC South team will try to draft leinart. new orleans just signed brees (and they wouldn't have to move to take him anyway), carolina and atlanta are set.....so that just leaves the bucs, who have simms, who would probably be used as trade bait.....i guess. leinart is certainly a perfect fit for gruden's offense.

So you see Leinart as Rich Gannon, minus the mobility?

leinart is tom brady. he's perfect for the offense because it's complicated and needs a lot of quick reads and passes.

Bongo had this to say: "no there is a team willing to give up three number ones for the right guy.......and the Texans are talking to this team..............if that deal goes down it will kill this one we have been discussing.................and yes it does involve Bush."

Who would that be, the Niners? They have two #1's this year and could throw in next year's as well, and I expect that will end up being a top 10 pick. At #6 we have a good chance (I say good chance because on another site I said gurantee and someone pointed out there are no gurantees in the draft, and rightly so.) we could still get Hawk, Davis, or Ferguson. This is all assuming this fella is referring to San Francisco, we'll have to wait and see.

the niners and jets are two teams that have no reason to trade up at all. oakland is another. no shock that all 3 are rumored to be trading up.

I'm not buying into any of this trade rumor, if this guy really worked for one of the teams that is allegedly involved he wouldn't be getting on all these message boards and dropping small tidbits of information about this blockbuster trade that his team is working on and potentially compromising the whole situation. This is about all the "concrete" information that you can expect from this next week:

1) Expect there will be all kinds of trade rumors this coming week.
2) Expect that there probably will be a deal or two made.
3) Expect that the majority of the trades will not come until the very end of the week if at all, probably not even until draft day.
4) Don't expect the Texans to be involved in any of these trades unless someone does somehow offer us three 1st round picks and more.
5) Don't expect Vince Young to be playing for Houston, it will be Reggie Bush or Mario Williams.
