For those that don't like the E-Mo nickname

lol I noticed that when I went to take that quiz too. I honestly don't have a problem with the nickname but I know some people do.

Why would anyone have anything against that nickname, it's not like it's naughty or anything. Only some extinct birds could possibly get grumpy :)
 
Here is some current definitions of the term. From what i hear from teenagers its sort of an insult to be called an 'Emo' kid. I won't be calling him 'Emo'. Just 'Moulds' is fine by me or 'That badass receiver in the endzone w/the football' LOL

A. Emo
An entire subculture of people (usually angsty teens) with a fake personality. The concept of Emo is actually a vicious cycle that never ends, to the utter failing of humanity, and it goes something like this:

1. Girls say they like "sensitive guys" (lie)
2. Guy finds out, so he listens to faggy emo music and dresses like a dork so chicks will see that he is sensitive and not afraid to express himself (lie). He dyes his hair black, wraps himself in a stupid looking scarf, develops an eating disorder, and rants about how "nobody understands".

B. Emo

A group of white, mostly middle-class well-off kids who find imperfections in there life and create a ridiculous, depressing melodrama around each one. They often take anti-depressants, even though the majority don't need them. They need to wake up and deal with life like everyone else instead of wallowing in their imaginary quagmire of torment.


C. Emo

Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.


D. Emo

Emo is a type of music appealing to modern-day punks and indie rockers. Some emo is full of complex guitar work, arty noise and unorthodox song structures and some emo is closer to punk-pop but a little more intricate. Emo lyrics are deeply personal (see sadcore), usually either intimate confessions or poetry. Emo grew out of the conviction that commercially oriented music was too artificial and calculated to express any genuine emotion. The term "emo" (sometimes lengthened to "emocore") was initially used to describe hardcore bands who favored expressive vocals over the typical barking rants.

Also: Emo can be used to describe a person who listens to obscene amounts of "emo" music. Many (but not all) emo kids are usually found wearing Chuck Taylor shoes, used T-shirts with random prints (usually found in thrift stores) and often wear thick, black, plastic glasses (even with no prescription).
 
Reminds me of E-L-M-O. Sesame Street characters don't make good WR's, well maybe except Big Bird. But I digress.

I've never been a fan of the "first initial, part of the last name" nickname. I've always felt that you give a person a nickname the represents something about them (serious or funny)
 
AHHHHHH!!!!! I hate Emo and Emo kids. Not because the are different and weird (then i would be mean) but becasue they think that anyone who listens to mainsteam music or "conforms" to social norms is selling out or is not as good as them. Emo kids are a detriment to society. As he said, they are fake and only dress and act like that to either get attention or......i dont even know, but they are anoying and are the people that go out and do all the stupid things just to get attention and their music is really annoying and depressing. Sorry but this is years of frustration built up and i know it has nothing to do with football but please leave this post up so people can see what they are associating Eric Moulds with. Please.

Whoa, calm down dude. While no one likes pretentious artsy people who cry all the time and listen to bad music. This is about what we are going to call our new WR. I mean is it so hard to type a few extra letters or say a few extra syllables?
 
yea really i am sorry about the Post/outburst, but that is what Emo means to me. Either way i think overall its not a bad Nick name but i would prefer something that actually relates to some aspect of his character or game. Its cool if eveyone uses it i just wont. Again i apologize and every one has my permission to use Emo...........sorry....again.

Seriously... back when I was in school we called them "Goth"... these "emo" kids seem like Goth kids, but more influenced by Old Navy :).

I have no problem with it.. if I hated melodramatic teenagers who lived in their own little imaginary world and felt that no one understood them...well...id hate all teenagers :).

Its just a nickname :)..any "high school meanings" that may apply to it, need to be left in high school.

Emo isn't exactly "goth." Emo is short for "emotional" and is a genre of music. The bands named earlier in the post, and others such as Dashboard Confessional are emo bands. If a person is "emo", its a slang term used to describe a wide range of fashion styles and attitudes somewhat affiliated with emo music and its related scenes.
 
Emo is from "emotional" punk. It started with bands like minor threat and some how got turned into bands like fall out boy. Go figure.
 
I've been saying E-Moulds and my father thinks I'm talking about some home improvement products.

I'm Emo then, although I would not consider myself THAT young anymore. I just happen to like Frou Frou which HAS TO BE a so-called Emo-band.. :)

I'm still in school though, that must be the connection :)
 
if you really want to see emo in houston go to club 1415 on a wednesday night. they are all there and they have exactly the same hair..
