NFL Power Rankings

AtheGreat

Waterboy
saw the rankings and just wondered how yall thought it should be.

http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/powerrankings

In my head, i saw things differently and tried to be as unbiased as i could. Tell me what you think.

My Rankings:

1. Steelers- barely lost anyone, still top tier
2.Colts-Lost Edge but will find a way to fill that hole. they have Payton and WRs, nothing esle matters
3.Panthers- have a huge threat at #2 receiver and Dellhome seems be improving all the time. Just need to find a healthy RB.
4.Pats- duh, its the Pats, they'll aways be up there.
5.Bengals- Carson was great and has room to do even better (and the WRs to help). Rudi gives them a legit threat on the ground and Def. is solid.
6. Jags- Not too much done with them this offseason, though i hate to admit it, they usually field a pretty decent team
7. Broncos- let Pryce go, but if Def. can stay healthy, and Bell do good by himself, they'll be alright.
8. Seahawks- lost key player in their line, but picked up burleson and Peterson. can't go wrong there.
9. Giants- If Eli can keep improving and if they still have a runningback named Tiki, its hard to go wrong. They could reallly use some LB crew though.
10. Cheifs- Barely missed Playoffs last year. have all the makings of a solid team. Priest will be back as well.
11. Dolphins- Culpepper will help them tremendously if he's back to his 2003 slef again. Jason Taylor and Chambers dont hurt their chances either.
12. Cowboys- decent, but not superbowl-bound. T.O. will help them alot. If Parcells can't tame him, no one can.
13. Bucs- Strong D and Cadilac coming into himself. should be good.
14. Bears- Defense wins games. Bears have it. Wins will hinge on if Rex will take the leadership pos. and if Thomas Jones keeps up with last year's #'s.
15. Redskins- good ST w/ addion of Randel El, beefed up WR corps. but their D seemed to be sub-par last couple games last year. Loosing Arrington didn't help.
16. Eagles- McNabb and Westbrook and only take you so far..
17. Falcons- sick front four including Kerney and Abraham. Only reservations are about longevity. Seemed to run out of gas at the end of the year.
18. Chargers- LT and Gates. nuff said. QB situation is still up in the air. P Rivers comeback?
19. Vikings- Brad Johnson showed good leadership coming in after Daunte and winning some games for the Vikes. WRs could be better.
20. Rams- improved D alot this offseason. Jackson is becoming a better back and holt, well, he's Tory Holt.
21. Browns- still could use a real QB. Dilfer doesn't count. Vast improvement personel-wise over last year.
22.Cards- still need some Oline help but, they got the Almighty Edge and great WRs.but i forget, do they even have a D?
23. Ravens- need to find a QB that isn't Bollinger. D is fine.
24. Titans- done well in FA this year, McNair still has a year left in him.
25. Saints- Brees, if his shoulder is alright after surgery, will help them alot. Desprately need some good D players. They'll be looking that way come draft day.
26. Texans- I honestly think this. FA has made all the difference in the world here and i really think that 6 wins is possible. Still need some help on the D side of the ball but O will look fine after the draft. (not even going into the whole draft debate).
27. Raiders- Who haven't the Raiders lost? they have Randy, but who's gonna throw him the rock? Woodson is gone too. Draft may improve them, may not.
28. Packers- honestly dont think that Favre is coming back. we'll see how much Aaron Rogers has soaked up from the guru in the #4 jersey. Also, staying off the injury list will help them alot.
29.lions- Joey HarringWHO? Kevin Jones was, for the most part, a bust. Cant see them with too many marks in the W column.
30. Bills- If they can make it through the off-season w/ enough players to field a team b/c of cap room, they may have a chance. Oh, and do you know J.P. Losman? Neither do i.
31. Jets- CMart is what? 83,84? His time is just about up. They lost their only decent player in Ty Law and wont be able to sign a superstar due to cap.
32. 49ers- Give away your only three decent players and what do you have? nothing. Alex Smith need to learn some more and they need some players. Hey, there next years draft right?

anyway, if you think different, let me know what you think it should be. Love to see what other people think.

I like your picks alot. I think the Pats, Vikings should fall a few spots though and Washington and Arizona should move up a few. I think the Texans could end up in the 18-20 range by the end of the year...

I think Indy will slip quiet a bit this year. They had the best chance they are ever going to have next year and blew it. They lost some solid D players and Edge, that with the mental scars from the way their damn near perfect season ended will be too much for them to overcome.:twocents:

I think Indi's superbowl window of opportunity is still open, but closing quickly. Any back they draft in the first or second round will have the opportunity for great production, Peyton still has his WR's in tact (amazingly), and under Dungy their defense has become one of the better pressure defenses in the league. The Colts will have another few shots at the SB these next 2 or 3 seasons IMO, before they go the way of the Eagles.

I like your ranking's but I think the Seahawks should be 3rd or 4th. They lost Hutchinson, but they added Burleson and Julian Peterson to an already star studded team. On top of that, and most importantly, they retained Shaun Alexander. The Seahawks will be in the hunt deep into the playoffs again.

I think we can be an 18-20 team and then into the top 15 by the end of the year at least. I think we have a team capable of doing that.

Not necessarily the teams i think should START in the top 5 but who i think will end up there at the end of the season, in no particular order

Denver- A very good, very scary team.
Atlanta-Mike Vick led teams win games, regardless of how you feel about his style. An improved defense, and this is my pick for super bowl champion
Indianapolis-I dont think they will be an elite team, i think the loss of edgerrin does more against them than they think.
Tampa Bay-Cadillac is a beast, michael clayton should return to rookie form, and chris simms will only get more comfortable. Mark My words, tampa will easily nail one of the wildcard spots
Pittsburgh-Well coached, defensive team. Defense wins championships. No reason for them not to win the afc north.

the problem with these rankings is that miami isn't #1. that is all.
Yeah. Bummer. 1974 seems like such a long time ago. There weren't any microwaves, people had 8-tracks in their cars, The USSR still existed, Richard Nixon had just resigned and Skylab was still in orbit around the Earth.

Just kidding (although all the above is true). Love your uniforms.

THE YEAR IS 2050....WORLD PEACE HAS BEEN REACHED....THE ORDINARY AUTOMOBILE HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH FLYING VEHICLES...A COLONY HAS STARTED ON THE PLANET MARS....THE HOUSTON TEXANS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Fat chance of that happening.

World peace, I mean.

Flying cars we already have. It's called Los Angeles Freeway Traffic.

I think the sportsline guy is spot dead on. I liked yours also. The point is, our team needs a lot of help.

sportsline guy had the Bengals at 15 - maybe without Palmer, but with him they should be top 10.
I know he had us at 30 but I think we should be hire than the Lions and Bills. Both have uncertainty at QB. The Bills have 3 players fighting to be the starter, Nall, Holcome, Losman.

LA freeway traffic is flying cars??? I dont think so...when I was stationed in california the last place you wanted to find yourself was in traffic along the 5...we moved about as fast as snails.

There is a reason because the AFC north was not won by them last year, the bengals did, and the bengals have gotten better this offseason where as the steelers have simply lost some players and gained none. Also, dont be suprised if the browns improve with all of their signings and improved play because of their coach's second year. The steelers will have a much harder season this year.

nope but they'll be tough to beat. I think it might be the Colts year this year. But hopefully not

Sorry call me a hater or what ever you want. If Indy couldnt do it last year with the soft schedule and the inside track to the Super Bowl in its nice dome stadium, then I dont feel they are gonna do it this year or maybe ever. They are losing way more than they are gaining, and I dont know why people assume they will just pull some back out of the *** end of the first round and he will outproduce one of the elite backs in the game :ok:. They lost alot of defensive depth and it wont be easy to replace in the later rounds. And with all the money tied up in a few WRs and a QB its hard to sign anyone. :twocents:

I think we have made some serious improvements with the addition of Moulds and Putzier, which will give DC some weapons that he has sorely lacked. However, the two obvious holes still remain from last seasons: O-line and QB. While the new offensive weapons should help with our sack problem slightly, it is up to DC and the line to step up and deliver. All of the other acquisitions so far have been replacement of old players with fresh faces and fresh attitudes, which should be a good thing as well. Until we prove it on the field, I would place us anywhere in the lower quarter of the league. I would like to see us move up the ladder during the season, though I doubt our defense will allow us to go up much beyond the middle of the pack. Of course, if we show any signs of improvement from last year, I'll be happy!!!

Offensivly where set (QB Carr RB Bush FB Cook TE Putzs WR Moulds WR Johnson WR Walter/Mathis what more do you want?) expect for are Line (if we get Tutan and draft a Linemen we should be ok.) D are front 4 looks good (DE Babin/Peek DT Johnson DT Smith DE Weaver.) we have a hole at linebacker without Wong but Orr did play well last year (have Greenwood and Cowart.) are secondary is looking bad but if we can somehow get Buchanon playing decent and draft a FS and let CC and Earl battle it out at SS we should be ok. Pluse we have DD as trade bait (if we can manage that.) I say where playing with the Fags this year and fo sho! winning the one in Houston.

I think you guys are crazy. After what the Steelers do to us last season, I thought someone from NY would call in to stop that game. If it would of been a fight, they would have stopped it. If it would of been a horse, they would of shot it. The steelers D is for real and they are loaded. They don't have many peices to replace to get back into the play offs. As long as they are pretty much healthy, the can stop just about anyone. P-burnt is still looking for Willie Parker.
The only good thing about that game is they didn't Kill Carr. Lot of offensive lineman should of given Mr. McNair his money back after that game. They're not the eighty-five bears yet...but they're close.

Befor you guys whip up another 10-6 season on paper this off sesaon like you did last year, I think you better wait and see what happens in the opening eight weeks. Can we draft and improve this team tremeduosly ? No doubt. But no one is going to lay down for us. That first eight weeks is like the Bataan Death march. No matter who's on the team......Brutal. Anytime you switch defensive schemes, you can pretty much count on a season's worth of agony. I don't care how great the coach is. Switching defenses is not seamless. The only good thing you can say about that schedule is we finally caught a good bye week.

Wake me up when the bengals have a quarterback again....or the ravens or browns for that matter.

Speaking of the Colts, I hate to say this, but it seems like many times the Super Bowl winner is the team who SHOULD have won it the year before. This year, that would be the Colts. Next year, it will be whoever SHOULD have beat them in the SB or the playoffs this year.
