Marcus Vick Late Pick

Marcus Vick

Height: 6-0 | Weight: 201 | 40-Time: 4.42

Official Bio

Strengths:
An amazing natural athlete...Has rare speed and is extremely quick...Has a cannon for an arm...A major threat to run and can beat a team with his legs...Is very strong...Is more accurate and already a better passer than his brother was in college...Played well in 2005...Has outstanding potential and a huge upside.

Weaknesses:
Has character issues that make Maurice Clarett look like Walter Payton...Very raw and will need a lot of development...Only started for one season at the college level...Streaky and inconsistent...Struggled against top competition...A major risk who is just as likely to end up in jail as he is the Pro Bowl...Extremely immature.

Risky pick but might be a value if he turns out to be a PLAYER or anything similar to his brother waste a late round pick on him and see what happens.

Not in a million years.

McNair (and now Kubiak) are putting an emphasis on getting good character guys.

Everyone wants to draft VY. Honestly I cannot figure out why. Has an extremely awkward delivery, makes some poor decisions not to mention he will probably have to sit and learn for a year or two anyways...WHY waste a first round pick on a guy like that when u can get one in the 6th or 7th, it's stupid. Vick is faster will sit just as long as VY and can get him for MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper, you just have to tame him. Basically VY is a PROVEN leader and not much more just POTENTIAL

freaking sweet, it turns into a VY thread

anyways he has terrible character to go along with the fact that he sucks, he does just look up his stats against big time teams like Miami.

not in a million years, not even if we had 18 7th round picks and he payed ever fan 5 dollars...he's a joke

I dont know y but if I were the Texans who would we sub in if carr got hurt?

Sage Rosenfels? LOL I think we wasted money on him

I would rather have Dave Ragone be #2 but y not take a chance on Marcus Vick?

If we take him in the 5th or 6th, and ends up straightening out, he could potentially end up being around a 2nd or 3rd round steal, so I say y not try?

I dont think he will be like clarett, cuz clarett hadnt even played the sport in 3 years.

Interesting idea but wrong guy IMO...Rolling the dice with a 7 on Reggie McNeil if he is still there is a move I like better.

The only bright side to signing him would be the ability to have one guy be an auxillary WR and 3rd string QB. But there are better guys to do that with who dont tote guns and buy beer for minors.:twocents:

agreed, not that I like Mcneil that much but if we are going to get a project QB/WR I would much rather have him than Vick

When Marcus gets his head together (it will happen) watch out because he will be a force and a steal of a pick in the 4th or 5th round.

Marcus Vick is Ryan Leaf, the difference being Leaf waited until the pros to completely implode. Dude has already proven he couldn't take the scrutiny and pressure of being "the" guy at a VT program, and he should (but won't) expect nothing but hard knocks early at the next level. He's a guy who when things are going well, he's on and looks great, but when it's a bit of a struggle he simply collapses; they call that "mental toughness" in the ole' NFL, he has none. If we get any QB in the late rounds, make it McNeil or Omar Jacobs if he falls for some reason...

What has he done football wise to make you think he will be any good?

he completed 61% of his passes (good) for 2190 yards 15 tds and 10 ints

he was a joke in the miami game, and he is rotten, you guys have to be kidding me, get over the fact that his brother is Michael

I don't want to waste anything on this guy. I wouldn't even want him as a Texans walk-on. I really feel that our organization has a lot of class and respectability. Don Capers and the face our team, David Carr, has really given that to us despite their on-field performances (or lack of). I'd like to keep it that way.

I would be afraid to go to the games with him in the stadium, he carrys a gun eveywhere he goes I might get shot:eek:  He does not have that WOW playmaking ability like Mike. Plus, if you do your research, VT had one of the weakest sched in the NCAA last year, and when they finnaly played teams with talent they were beaten by large margins. I think he is way to much baggage, give him some years in the CFL and let him earn some respect and grow out of this imature state he is in. I hope he does well in canada!
