Which remaining WR would you target?

I was just curious to see peoples opinions on this.

Peerless Price
Kevin Curtis
Quincy Morgan
Eddie Berlin
Eric Moulds

That's not all of them of course, but those some of the more notable names. I think I would choose Price.

I would choose none of them. The WR core currently on the roster is more than sufficient to cause problems with defenses. Not to mention draft 1 or 2 in the draft as well.

Of course, not on your list, but Javon Walker would be outstanding if the Texans could get him cheap enough. He is good.

I still dont think that we will get Javon Walker, because he doesnt like Mike Sherman, but I think that the only way that we can get him is

1.If we have cap room
2.He actually wants to come here
3.No one will take him
4.If he comes cheap

because he said he would rather retire than stay in Green Bay.

price is probably the best choice as of right now...but i would wait til after the draft to sign a receiver because they will have to come at a discount after the draft

Just curious, who out of our WR's do you think can be a reliable #2? Kevin Walter with his 300 yards and 1 TD in 3 years? Mathis with his 5 catches last year? I like what we've done so far, but I think we still need a good #2 WR to loosen up the Defense.

Trade Chester Pitts for Javon Walker and draft D'Birckashaw Ferguson.:yahoo:  :pigfly:

But really, I would trade a 3rd rounder for a young Pro-Bowler.

Getting rid of Gaffney was a mistake in the first place. The problem with the passing game wasn't the receivers. Heck, take the injury time away from Andre Johnson and even he had a bad year. Should the Texans get rid of him, too? Kubiak has put the Texans in an even worse position than they were in the first place by messing around with a situation that wasn't a big problem and in the process created a minor mess that diverts some attention as well as capital on the real trouble areas of this team. Now they'll have to either waste money or a draft pick to fix up the problem that Kubiak created. Of these guys, I suppose if you can get Curtis for real cheap then you MIGHT get the situation back to where it was before Gaffney left because Curtis produced fairly well when he was in for Isaac Bruce. Then again, Gaffney produced fairly well on a 2-14 team as the go-to guy when Andre was out, so I would see it as a wash.

Well, the Texans and rest of the NFL tend to disagree with you. The best offer he got was 1 year at 900,000K per. Gaffney was another bust in the seemingly neverending line of them on this roster.

i'd take eric moulds if i had to choose, from ur list, but i wouldnt mind seeing walker come to houston, i think he would be a good compliment opposite AJ. And i did think J. Gaffney was a reliable target, i mean he wasnt fast at all, but he was a very good 3rd down target. of course that what his position is designed for.

Are you a Titans fan because all of your suggestions are detrimental to the team. Gaffney was.... Ok, but the guy did not scream out anything more than average.

If we could get Eric Moulds on the cheap (one of our 3rd or 4th round picks) then I would take him. I would like to go after Peerless Price though. I don't know if he had a complete falling out with Dallas or what, but I think with the right coach and system he can and will be productive. In 2003, he had 64 catches for 838 yards. Granted, that was as the #1 reciever, but if he could get that as our #2 I would be extremely satisfied.

we don't need anything other than competitive depth for training camp at WR. People are very dismissive of Jerome Mathis. As a rookie, he was a bigger plus for us on offense than Bradford was. Unfortunately, the previous staff was enamored with 30 year old WRs who run poor routes and can't catch.

At worst, Mathis will be able to stretch the field, AJ demands a lot of attention, Armstrong and Walters are both plus posession receivers and Putzier can cause matchup problems with LBs and SS. We are sitting pretty at WR. If we fix the line at get better QB play, there will be abundant opportunities downfield for us.

Do ppl forget that Peerless Price has had Michael "I think I'm a QB but play like a RB" Vick throwing to him in Atlanta? Do they also think or remember that he played behind Terry Glenn and Keyshawn at Dallas, as well as having Drew "I can get the DAMN ball to you if there's a way to stay upright" Bledsoe as his QB? He'd be the best value for money guy available atm out of the leftover WR's and I'm sure he could play #2 behind AJ and you can rotate your other guys around in the slot. At least he'd have a QB here (yes I know, that's still debatable yet) throwing to him as well as a RB and now an actual TE to help him get open and used!!!
