MONARCH

Noob
Greetings all,

One of my GREAT PALS who resides in the City of Austin, and for whom had the great luck to attend the UT PRO DAY........has stated to me that VINCE YOUNG & COMPANY put on a show for the ages.......

ATTA BOY! For of course we knew that you would........

SPECTACULAR! VERY IMPRESSIVE! ......were just a few of the terms being used throughout the day........for it was equally reported that there were quite a few media players......especially from ESPN (reggie's world) that were trying their damndest to try and find something negative to report.......GO FIGURE.....

.....but many of them reportedly left the activities very disappointed.....indeed........why oh why does ESPN love reggie bush so much?

OH WELL, to my great pal (secret source).......if you should just by chance read this post........BIG THANKS FOR THE SCOOP! .....for I only wish that I was present........HOOK'EM!

VINCE YOUNG, no matter what the occasion, you always come forth a winner.......DRAFT DAY 2006 EQUALLY COMETH!

Listening to Lance Zerlein on 610 am on afternoon show.....said VY was accurate...showed at times zip on some throws....concerned more with throwing a catchable ball.... He talked to 3 or 4 scouts afterwards...some were dissappointed that he didn't throw certain routes(guessing to show his arm strength) session was scripted by Jerry Rhome(his instructor)
said Huff had lost 10 lbs ...quickness helped with CB skills....Cedric Griffin looked good ...projected for safety...D. Thomas caught everything

LZ said VY looked solid..didn't hurt or boost his stock. What Vy does in private sessions with individual teams will determine his fate.

Sorry, don't know your source or his credentials. :twocents:

I wonder where this comes from? Carr could learn many things from VY about "catchable balls". I'm mainly referring to Carr's inability to put touch on his medium to short throws. Carr would is better at VY in his ability to throw deep balls hitting the receiver in stride. IMO this was his specialty at Fresno too.

VY kicked tail today, but the best example is what he can do, is what he did on the field. he is a natural football player that the Texans will regret not drafting, if they pass on him.

i hope these 6 and 7 number decision makers don't screw this up.

when reggie bush faced a fair defense (Texas) he didn't do squat, why waste a #1 pick on him.

choose VY or trade down.

I am with you Brother! Draft him but do not trade down unless they are offering a whole offense line!I just do not know if I was watching the same UT games as the Reggie/Mario lovers. I did not get to see MArio at all but I watched Reggie.I would be happy with either of those guys but I think if we let Vincent go we will regret it forever.Although, Carpenter and AJ Hawk did a great job on him. They are both considered above average so it makes sense.
Vince is better than anyone else in the draft that I have seen.

Scout: Young runs 40-yard dash in 4.58

Quarterback Vince Young was timed in 4.58 seconds in the 40-yard dash Wednesday on what is considered a fast track at the University of Texas in Austin, one NFL scout told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The scout said Young's time was slower than anticipated.

According to the same scout, Young's overall workout was "fairly impressive," but the scout said that Young was not asked to make certain drops and throws that he would have to perform in a private team workout.

I had heard that teams can't do anything physical in their individual "workouts" with players unless their home address is in that city (Vince is from Houston) and that all they can do is interview-type stuff. If that's the case, then today was Vince's only chance to show what he has on the field (he had a chance at the Combine but passed on it).

I think that's why the Titans are having his private workouts here this week.

Well the Titans are having a workout with him tomorrow and they are bringing Titan receivers with them, so I don't know how accurate that is.

I don't know where you heard that (link?), but teams put prospects through private workouts all the time. Tennessee will put Vince through a private workout tomorrow.

There is a rule that teams can only bring in 20 draft prospects in for visits. The exception to that rule is if a prospect is from that team's area, he doesn't count against the 20 visits.

Can we just fast forward to April 29? I dont know if I can argue about this for another month.

The fact is that the Texans are NOT going to draft VY however the arguing is going to go on for years if VY turns out to be better than Carr in the NFL.
