After the Jets, Broncos, and Falcons pulled off a rare three-team deal, it got me to thinking about us and the draft. We would be greatly helped by getting Reggie Bush or Mario Williams but could also use some better/extra picks by trading down. However, we can't trade down too far because we'll probably lose out on both of them, even moving past #2 might be too far depending on what team ends up there. The Saints now don't need a QB after signing Drew Brees, and while they could stay at #2 and take Bush (if we don't take him), Mario Williams, or maybe D'Brickashaw Ferguson, A.J. Hawk would probably be the best fit for their team, but he's not worth the #2 pick. The Jets could be interested in trading up, especially with their two 1st round picks that they now possess. At #1 they could go for Leinart in case Pennington doesn't pan out or they could go for Reggie Bush as their big-time playmaker to complement Curtis Martin and eventually replace him. That said, what would you guys think about this trade and is there any chance it could be put together (I think we all know Casserly isn't going to put together a complex trade that doesn't rip us off, so it's up to the Saints or Jets FO):
Houston:
Receives: #2 from Saints (2600 pts.), #29 from the Jets (640 pts.)
Gives up: #1 to the Jets (3000 pts.), #66 to Saints (260 pts.)
New Orleans:
Receives: #4 from Jets (1800 pts.), #35 from Jets (550 pts.), #66 from Texans (260 pts.)
Gives up: #2 to Texans (2600 pts.)
N.Y. Jets:
Receives: #1 from Texas (3000 pts.)
Gives up: #4 to the Saints (1800 pts.), #29 to Texans (640 pts.), #35 to Saints (550 pts.)
Thus, the Texans trade down from #1 to #2 and in turn get to move up from #66 to #29. This still leaves us guaranteed to get one of our two stud playmakers and may make our decision easier if Bush is taken at #1, and it gives us a late 1st round pick to grab someone like Nick Mangold and we are left with:
#2 (Still get whoever is left between Bush and/or Mario at a cheaper price)

The Saints move back two spots to make Hawk a more reasonable pick, they regain their 3rd rounder from us, and add the Jets #35 so they can fill two more holes and are left with:
