Should we re-sign Lamar Miller

He was fired because OBrien and Easterby hatched this plan to get caserio and cal thinks O'Brien is the next belichick.

It was complete buffoonery.

^^^^THIS^^^^. Totally agree. It makes Cal look weak and easily influenced by strong willed individuals in a position to do so.

Pure speculation... except for the buffoonery part

I know this!... I'm not sold on foreman either but I guess we oh hell idk.. just put the back up QB once he goes down..."1st and 10...1st play of the game...its JOE WEBB up the middle! And NO ONE...saw...that...coming!!!"

Too bad Texans didn’t get in on Jordan Howard. This unit is one injury away from being a liability.

That would've cost a low level draft pick and $$$$ and $$$$.

You really think the Texans will ever make a move like the Eagles did?

I mean there's an unhappy all pro LT that wants to be traded as we speak maybe the Texans GM will make a call and see if he's truly available and what the cost of a trade may be. Wait.....

If Texans thought they really needed to address RB group they could have drafted one. Josh Jacobs was on the board @ #23. Would have been nice for Watson to have a true playmaker paired in the backfield.

Pretty sure he was discussed in the war room over tackle but Texans went for need over BPA.

Give me a trade up for Dillard and a low draft pick trade for Howard.

Have the Eagles made an offer on Trent Williams?

I see what you did there.

You think we were target the eagles 2nd round pick RB from Penn State? btw...why did the Eagles plays us like that during the draft?

Concerns about Foreman

Running back D'Onta Foreman has done a great job getting his body ready for camp. He hasn't done a great job being a running back yet. He did not have a good drill when the backs were practicing pass blocking against defensive backs. He struggled and didn't even see any premier pass rushers while doing so. A few of his movements were sluggish. With a break coming up soon how he finishes the week will be something to monitor.

D'Onta Foreman Has Work To Do
The Texans are pulling back on what they are asking D'Onta Foreman to do at the moment. Bill O'Brien alluded to making sure Foreman is a runner first, and the focus is not too much on his need to improve his pass protection. On Sunday, Foreman struggles in pass pro drills against defensive backs, and it continues to show it is a work in progress.

Foreman is watching other running backs like Lamar Miller, Taiwan Jones, Karan Higdon Jr., and Josh Ferguson take part in the passing game. His role is dimisnishing, and part of that could be due to his limitations as a back in certain areas right now.

At this point, Foreman would be sliding into Alfred Blue's role from the past few seasons with Lamar Miller getting the bulk of the work. The Texans are working to find a third-down back for the offense. If they can find one, it could mean limited snaps for Foreman if this trend continues heading to the off-season.

I don't think it should be surprising that DF is having some difficulties. As much time as he missed just healing he should have some catching up to do. Muscle memory can fade if the process your conditioned to has not been put to use for a long time. If DF has the desire and the effort he should be given a fair amount of time to pick things up.

What should be surprising is we didn't really look for a replacement

Good thing we drafted another TE this year. Did OB really think this guy was was gonna wake up one day and know how to block?

Quote of the day

"Different strokes for different folks...with all those running backs with the exception of Lamar (Miller) it's special teams. Where are they on special teams? What type of effort do they give? When you watch guys like Taiwan Jones, Josh Ferguson, (Karan) Higdon, (Damarea) Crockett, and you see the effort they give on special teams that goes a long way. (Cullen) Gillaspia, obviously at fullback. That's a big part of it too."

When asked about what he is looking for in a backup running back Bill O'Brien mentioned each running back by name except for D'Onta Foreman and Buddy Howell.

Foreman could appear in a two back set with Gillaspia. Might even be able to come up with a few wrinkles in that set. Heard both are good receivers.
