The Texans will have joint practices with a 2nd team............the Detroit Lions...........before their preseason game Aug. 17 .

Doesn't make sense. Colts went farthest in the playoffs.

This points to how badly O'Brien's offense hurt our team.

I’d say it points to how much 1 game can skew a stat. There was only 1 divisional game OT shootout this season where both QBs had high QB ratings. Game 1 Texans/Colts.

It doesn't say anything about divisional games

With Mercilus on the final year of his deal, Duke Ejiofor tearing his achilles in an offseason workout and no deal with Clowney... Texans have an increasingly large need for an edge defender. Wish Justin Houston was still on the market as insurance.

Expect them to bring in someone like Derrick Morgan or Shane Ray for a visit.

Hope DJ Coker is out future starting center. Jamal Davis replace Edgifor, Hairy becomes safety as does Lonnie Johnson. Higdon replaces L Miller, my boy Chris Johnson converts to corner, Drew Lewis becomes as good as I think he can. Pridgeon becomes an NFL guard and Ta'amu beats out our 3rd string QB.

IMO different type players. Clowney can play OLB and DE. I see Crosby as OLB and Omen as a DT/DE. Can be wrong about latter and I like him as a replacement for Covington.

I hope Omenihu works out. But the more I watch him the more concerned I become about his ability to translate his game to the pros. I see some Clowney-esque plays on his college tape due to his ability to time the snap count and take advantage of his impressive length to beat OL. Also, that same Clowney ability to get skinny and squeeze between OL beating them off the snap to get into the backfield. But I don't see Clowney's lightning fast first step and I'm worried about his ability to make splash plays in the NFL. When I watch him I see a splash player... for better and for worse. There are plays where he is immediately in the backfield blowing up a play. And then there are plays where a TE is driving him off the line like he's being blocked by Quenton Nelson. The Oklahoma game was the perfect example of the good, bad and ugly of his game.

The rookie DL I am most excited about and think makes the quickest pro impact is Albert Huggins. An absolute steal that he wasn't drafted. But I don't see a guy who is "just a run stuffer". I see a guy with a deceptively fast first step to go with a heck of an anchor. He can make big plays but he wont get exposed and become a liability near as often as a player like Omenihu. I think those traits translate better in the NFL which is why I could see him getting more playing time. The more I watch Huggins the more impressed I am with his play. Also impressive is his character. He would have been well within his rights to transfer to a school that would make him a starter. Particularly when Wilkins opted to return for his senior year when it was "Huggins turn" to start. But he stuck with it and when Dexter Lawrence got suspended he got his opportunity to shine and played very well in the College Football Playoffs.

Agree but long ways before needing either of those two to play much. Huggins is more of a steady nose tackle type. May never be every game starter but solid depth. I'm still watching cuts from other teams.

Yep most likely interior pass rush contributor on roster is Carlos Watkins. Need him to fulfill that 4th round pick investment.

That 93.5 QBR was due largely to allowing 37 points in the first game with Houston.

I corrected my post... obviously not before you quoted me.

So you take that game out, what was their QBR allowed? Does that explain the cluster of a passing game in the playoffs?

Found this.............makes one think that one of our UDFA could be a matter of opening a Cracker Jacks box.

Fisher actually played some TE and HBack in his rookie season. I like Fisher, but his atrial fib, even though calmed with an ablation procedure is far from an assurance that he will be free of the arrhythmia, Multiple such procedures are not uncommonly required, even after years following the initial procedure. But what may be even concerning is the lumbar disc herniation that landed him on IR last November. This may have something to do with his desire to lose weight and change position, although this may not make his risk of re-injury all that much different.
Jake Fisher has been cut after Bills mini camp. His conversion evidently has not been impressive as his heart and disc conditions have taken their toll.

Im waiting on the Wembley tickets to go on sale and wanted to ask is there a definitive best area of the stadium to buy tickets.

I saw Giants-Dolphins at Wembley in around 07 and the seats were pretty high up but a decent view considering.

With this being a once in a lifetime event possibly, i want to get really good seats, is the sideline the best or is it better viewing from the endzone?

Does JJ play throw and catch all around the stadium before the game or are there certain areas he tends to go?

My "live viewing experience" would be to aim for lower bowl about midway up if you want sideline (tv) view. If you want "all 22" view looking down the field from the endzone, you'll want to be higher up to see the other end of the field when the action is over there.

To me, being at a game is about what you can't get from a TV. So I don't worry about viewing everything or a bird's eye view. That's why I chose front row seats on the 15, Texans sideline. You can hear & feel the game and see the most critical play, red zone, right in front. Also great for seeing behind the scene player & coach interactions. The stadium has screens for what you may miss out on & you can DVR for detail.
