So no hold out, no one getting muddy? The Raiders think tank still remains challenged when making deals............they didn't have the money to pay a stable Mack (most important position after QB), but had the money to pay nut job like Brown.........it won't end well............and the Raiders will continue to be the Raiders. Look out Derek Carr.
This tells me the Giants plan on drafting a QB. And don't want Beckham anywhere near him. Here are the trade terms: Giants recieve a first-round pick in 2019 (No. 17 overall), the Browns' second third-round pick this year and S Jabril Peppers, source tells ESPN. Browns get Odell Beckham Jr.

A 3rd and a 5th.They pick up Brown with a ridiculous contract for a fifth & sixth.
Really? Why would the Texans do that when they consider themselves a playoff contender? Much more likely to come to terms on a contract.I expect Clowney to be traded prior to the draft
Tend to agree.Really? Why would the Texans do that when they consider themselves a playoff contender? Much more likely to come to terms on a contract.
I don't think they value Clowney the type of money he'll command (Aaron Donald/Khalil Mack money). The team has to make a choice whether to give him a big contract or JJ when that time comes (especially once DW4 gets re-upped). Looking down the line the team is going to back JJ over Clowney. Not an indictment on Clowney as a player just how the team values spending their allotted cap dollars. If they can hit the "reset button" with a 1st round pick and the rookie contract that is associated with that pick over giving Clowney 100 million+ I think the team will do that.Really? Why would the Texans do that when they consider themselves a playoff contender? Much more likely to come to terms on a contract.
Yea if that deal goes down it should inform us bout JDs approximate market value.More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.

Interested to see the trade and the contract. I expect Clowney to be traded prior to the drafta.
I think trades will be a lot more common nowadays after what Bell/Brown have done. Players are willing to sit out now and teams want to get something tangible in return.
For the last 17 years....doesn't get any better than the Texans off-season. Personally, winning a Super Bowl would just duck up all this fun. This off-season has been more exciting than the Super Bowl.
Little early in the day to be getting stoned, isn't it?For the last 17 years....doesn't get any better than the Texans off-season. Personally, winning a Super Bowl would just duck up all this fun.
You are asking THAT?Little early in the day to be getting stoned, isn't it?
He wontIf OBJ doesn’t go full little biatch like Antonio Brown the CLE could really be a serious contender in the AFC.
Kansas City Star calls for Chiefs to cut Tyreek Hill, if allegations are true
March 16, 2019, 8:51 AM EDT
The Chiefs moved swiftly in November to sever ties with running back Kareem Hunt, after a video debunked his claim to the team that he had no involvement in an altercation at a Cleveland hotel earlier that year. The Chiefs now have another situation with a star player, and the local newspaper has called for similar decisive action.
The Editorial Board of the Kansas City Star calls for the Chiefs to release Hill, if it’s proven that he broke his three-year-old son’s arm.
Whether it can be proven that Hill broke his child’s arm is a different issue. His name isn’t listed on the incident report relating to the injury, but the incident occurred at his address. Crystal Espinal, his fiancee, is named in the report; according to the Star, she is currently pregnant with twins.
Another Brown?Hill has a history of domestic violence. He reportedly punched and choked Espinal, who was then eight weeks pregnant with their son, on Dec. 11, 2014. He was arrested and dismissed from the Oklahoma State football team.
ProbablyAnother Brown?
which Brown?Another Brown?

I am interested in your opinion Doc. Given his history, combined with the recent story would it have bothered you had the Texans drafted him in the 5th round?A little more background on Hill's pathologic history:
I don't know I would say bother me as a player. But certainly as a person (especially the unforgivable 2014 incident with his 1st pregnant girlfriend) . He would have been a huge positive on the field for us. But this team would not have been able to deal with the continued off field antics..............which will have finally caught up with him, if the recent episode with a child less than a year following the completion of his probation is confirmed. I think I would "bother" me much less if the fists were directed to a 6' 200lb male.I am interested in your opinion Doc. Take into consideration his prolific career, even though the KC Chiefs haven't won an AFC Championship game, he's made for a heck of an offensive football team.
Sure you would. But that's not what we're talking about. I want to know if you're in the "winning is the only thing that matters" camp.I think I would "bother" me much less if the fists were directed to a 6' 200lb male
I'll watch for that.Johnny Manziel signs with the AAF.
San Antonio had first rights on him, but they turned him down. Now he goes through the AAF waiver process.

it feels like that at first...
Then I think of it as the NFL 'settling out of court'. If Reid and Kaepernick didn't have something of substance (how much can be debated) why would the NFL agree to buy him off??
I read somewhere the settlement cost each team $684,000 per team. A small price to pay to get Kaep to go away forever. Signing Reid to a dealThat plus the fact that Elway said he tried to sign Kaep and he declined.
I wonder how much $$$$ Kaep got vs Reid or if they just split the settlement after the lawyers got their cut. If they split the $$$$ Reid came out the real winner in this deal.
Him that figure seems low, I've read a couple reports that the settlement was around the $60-80 million range and that would put it at what $22 mil?
NFL Paid Under $10 Million to Settle Colin Kaepernick GrievanceI read it was between 22-30 mil.
But even if it was 60 mil that's less than 2 mil per team and I could see why the owners would settle.
The NFL Live talking heads talked about this today. They mentioned the non-disclosure agreement that govern both sides in this case. Even the article starts out by admitting neither side (NFL nor Reid Kaepernick) officially broke the silence....

An NFL spokesman declined to comment. An attorney for Messrs. Kaepernick and Reid said they are respecting the deal’s confidentiality agreement. No where in the article is this $10M figure attributed to anyone, either side, by name.
I don't believe it.
Smells like click-bait to me.
I know. I subscribe to the hardcopy version. The Wall Street Journal is not in the habit of using clickbait approach
Exactly. Right now we have 2 competing anonymous sources. No way to judge between them.Doc, you know I get suspicious of statement/data that can't be traced back to a verifiable source. I wanna know who leaked that $10M number.
I always feel much better about "facts" when specific legitimate sources are named. Along your line of thinking, you might enjoy this SI MMQB article:I know. I subscribe to the hardcopy version.
However, my statement:

Jameis Winston plans to play at 250 pounds this year
Posted by Josh Alper on March 24, 2019, 9:53 AM EDT
The Buccaneers offense is going to have a different look with head coach Bruce Arians pulling the levers this season and the guy putting the plays into motion is going to have a different look as well.
Quarterback Jameis Winston was at Arians’ golf tournament on Saturday and revealed that he’s going to be a bigger presence on the field than he has in past years. Winston has been listed at 231 pounds, but said he is working to build up muscle mass ahead of the season.
“I’m getting it. I’m going to play bigger this year,” Winston said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “I’m about 250. Yeah. A solid 250. It’s just about hydration and being at the peak body, too.”
This is shaping up as a pivotal season for Winston as he is unsigned beyond 2019 and his recent play has done little to make anyone rush to give him a long-term deal. We’ll have to wait to see if going bigger leads to better things.

Heaviest Quarterbacks in NFL History

I don't know..It's going to take steroids to pull that off.
What are you trying to say?
“For those who say you shouldn’t have signed Bobby Hart, who is going to play right tackle?” Blackburn said. “Who? Oh, maybe you’ll draft one in the third round and he’ll come on. Really? You’re going to bet your season on that? We may still draft somebody. We haven’t had the draft yet. But you just can’t criticize. In our business you have to solve the problem. If you’re not going to play him, tell me who? Trent Brown at 17 million? Really? A seventh-round draft pick? Let go essentially by his team. Really? We can’t go to WalMart and buy off the shelf. A high quality starting right tackle? That doesn’t exist [in free agency].
“You have to deal in the universe of options you have. We ended up signing eight guys. That’s probably above average. Were they perfect? You’re not going to get perfect. . . . There aren’t perfect options out there. We asked Willie Anderson if he could go to a time machine and come back at age 25. We’d love to sign him, but you have to deal in your universe of options. I think the data would say we signed more guys than most in line with the cap that we talked about. If there are surprises out there we’ll try to be flexible and aggressive, but normally there are no surprises out there.”
