I decided to merge all coach hirings into one thread, especially since there are so many openings this offseason.

Packers hire Titans OC LeFleur as HC

I guess because of the success of McVay and Nagy that young and slim offensive coordinators are all the rage now. I know nothing about him however, nothing really stood out to me about the Titans offense this year, except Mariota getting injured every other week.

Someone for Aaron Rodgers to push around, I guess. Was a Texan offensive quality control coach in 2008-09, followed Kyle Shanahan to Washington, then Atlanta.

He was actually the OC for the Rams in 2017. One could make the argument that he 'adjusted' his offense to fit his personnel in 2018.

Has there ever been a coach fired from college due to losing and landing an NFL HC job the same offseason? I can’t think of one.

Not a done deal yet, and Miami still has an interview with their ST coach on Friday lined up, but it is believe Kris Richard(Dallas' DB coach formerly with Seattle and the Legion of Boom) will be in line for the Dolphins HC job

Ya, just saw this myself. Would be pretty tough sledding for the NFC North to combine Bowles with that d roster.

Arians just came out and said Bowles has indeed taken the Tampa job. Said "[Bowles] is like a son to [him]" said Bowles thought long and hard about it, and he had to do his best sell job, but they are both happy to be working together again

Just heard this on our local sports radio here. Glad to hear it because the Bucs defense is a mess. What will be interesting is Bowles is a 3-4 guy and the Bucs have a 4-3 roster. Not sure what he will do, adjust his scheme based on what he has or cut loose some of the better players that don’t fit his scheme. Lavonte David and JPP come to mind. Gerald McCoy can be gone either way. They don’t need soft guys that apologize to QBs after they hit them.

JPP is big enough to play 3-4 DE especially if they wide 9 him. Move David to MLB. Not seeing the problem.

Great hire for the Buc's

So Kubiak/Fangio talks broke down over "staffing and offensive philosophy." Kubiak won't be OC and is leaving the Broncos. That makes him available to the teams Elway earlier denied. Interesting to see if he wants to coach elsewhere.

WTF offensive philosophy is Fangio insisting on? Broncos are trying to bring Munchak in, role not specified.

Maybe he's a fan of OB's "game plan" offense. Or Kubes likes to use TE's and we all know how OB's offense utilizes the TE's!
I think Kubiak would be good with one of the younger QB's, like Rosen, maybe.

Wouldn't be surprised if Baltimore tried to get him back. He vaulted them from 25th on pts/29th on yds to 8th on pts/12th on yds. Feanchise record points. And they have a young QB who needs to become more of a passer.

I can see that. The boots, rollouts, etc with him. And TE's that get utilized.

Well if they can fire their OL coach......
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the Colts are letting go of offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo, according to a source informed of the decision.

It's a surprising move considering the strides Indy's offensive line made in the first year under the new coaching staff. However, there is context behind the move. DeGuglielmo was the only offensive coach hired before Josh McDaniels turned his back on the Colts' job. Reich wants to bring in his own guy, per Garafolo.....

Chiefs moved on quick.

The Kansas City Chiefs moved quickly to fill their vacancy at defensive coordinator. The Chiefs hired former New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo for the role, the team announced Thursday. Spagnuolo, 59, did not coach in the NFL in 2018. He last served as the Giants' defensive coordinator from 2015-17, finishing his tenure as the interim head coach. He also served as the St. Louis Rams' head coach from 2009-11.....
