2019 Draft Thread

I think we'll go with a defensive lineman or a TE in the first round. And our two second round picks will be a RB and a WR, both with injury histories. For our third round I'll be to stoned to care anymore.

Looks like the secondary poses an even greater need than the OL.

Yeah no....the o-line should be the priority..1st & 2nd should be o-line. use the other 2nd on a db though...I wonder if we can pry Patrick Peterson away from Ariz. He has stated he wants to be traded & we will have lots of cap space.

Think it's time to move on from J-jo.

so we pick anywhere between 21-24th in the draft? with 8 teams left in the playoffs after this weekend.

We probably had the best record 11-5 , so may be 24th pick ?

Seattle better loose today. Dallas looks prepared, unlike the Texans. We may have back to back 2nd round picks.

I'd like to add a RB or ILB as well as OL & CB.

A QB or edge rusher I would pass on, but the best player available I'd take.

I would have thought that this thread would be in the draft forum

When I look at the list of QB’s the Texans are scheduled to play against in 2019, the Texans backfield will be cooked.

I’m not really fond of the top of this draft class. Greedy Williams will probably be the first one taken but he’s rail thin. I think the real value is later on in round one or early 2nd. I like Amani Oruwariye. I’d like to see Gaine trade back a little and take him. Then start drafting o-line.

I'd prefer to even overpay a bit in FA on OL than use up our 1st rounder. OT is a difficult position to draft well. We have plenty of needs, I'd really prefer BPA in 1st.

Could we pick-up someone like Ja'Wuan James in FA?

All offensive line positions are hard to draft because you don't know how they're going to interact with the guys playing at their shoulders. Your run stoppers can be a bunch of individuals in good-natured competition with each other. But an OL must work as a unit to be effective. That's why—I'm going to come right out and say it—you need a lot of white skin on your offensive line in most cases. For example, look at the Dolts. They have a better OL than we'll probably ever have.
