HOUSTON

Coutee is back with a 3rd hamstring.........he was brought back too soon after his 2nd.........reported that "he is trending up"...........only the brain dead would put him back on the field this Sunday

Hopkins still on with a foot........still feel he's dealing with a Jones stress fracture........hope he makes it through the season

KJak is new with a groin injury..........has been dealing with an ankle injury earlier this season........if not resolved completely, lower limb instability can go hand-in-hand with groin tears

JJo added back in knee after being cleared from last report..........again both of these injuries can be feeding off of each other, one compensating for the instability created by the other

Jordan Thomas with a new hamstring

Blue with a new thigh injury

Mercilus with a "new" ankle..............had a previous long-standing hamstring........then suffered an ankle injury ~ 1 month ago

Reid with a new knee

Demaryius Thomas with a "new" wrist..........suffered a wrist injury in preseason with the Broncos........then again in mid Oct with Broncos...............did not miss games for his wrist injuries

CLEVELAND

OL Austin Corbett (foot).........new

OL JC Tretter (ankle).............suffered a high ankle sprain mid Oct and has not practiced except for walk-through Fridays since , though he has played through the injury missing no games.............................suffered a grade III MCL which required surgery week 7 2016 for which he was placed on IR.............MCL repair was not performed until the end of Jan 2017 because it was reported that he could conservatively rehab his injury

TE David Njoku (knee)..............has been dealing with an undisclosed knee injury since the beginning of Oct, but has missed no games.....and until yesterday, has missed no practices

TE Seth DeValve (calf)...........sustained in practice last week

DL Larry Ogunjobi (shoulder)............sustained in practice last week

DB Tavierre Thomas (abdomen)............likely he is dealing with a "sports hernia" sustained week 10 (first appears on Injury Report last week after the Browns Bye)

LB Tanner Valtejo (knee)............sustained last game..........history of knee scope last year for undisclosed knee injury

Doc, you think they let Foreman play? Think they only have 1 more week (Dec 6th) to make their decision to activate him or sit him the rest of the season, right?

As I posted in the Injury Thread, to me things do not look promising for him. The Texans may force the issue of releasing him to practice just as time runs out, and he will be allowed to begin practice.........but he will have only 3 more weeks to become game ready. Then it may already be Jan............and how prepared and productive would you expect an even uninjured RB away from the game for 14 months be? Bottom line, his rehab has taken unusually long, and he and the team can give all sorts of explanations, but all point to a poor finale to this season.

Only change is an upgrade of Jordan Thomas to FP.

CLEVELAND

Only change is the addition of LB Jamie Collins Sr. (shoulder)........sustained in practice today..........Nov 2017 sustained a Grade III MCL which required surgery and IR...........missed all of this past offseason rehabbing

Doc, do you think his return to field has taken so long do to the severity of the injury or do you think, as has been hinted at on 610, that he did not keep himself in shape and maybe has added some extra pounds? :fridge:

There is really no real variation of severity of an Achilles rupture........for the most part, an Achilles is an Achilles. But when rehab is completed successfully, potential of return to adequate performance is very dependent on the player position due to the amount of stress on the Achilles that is required to play the position...........the RB position the worst. In Foreman's case, it hasn't been so much a weight conditioning factor as it has been a blunted rehabilitation of his injury factor.............an already difficult road for return, complicated by questionable commitment/effort.

Coutee and Watt are both questionable for Sunday.

Coutee should not play this soon after his 3rd hamstring.

Watt continuing to be seen on the Injury Report for his knee is not a good sign post tibial plateau fracture repair. He's been on the Injury Report intermittently for his knee, but now for the first time back to back...........the degenerative changes are expected post this injury, as it by definition it includes significant articular cartilage damage of the tibial plateau...........and in ~50% will include tears of the meniscus, very likely since Watt required an extensive open plating of the fracture(s). Most of the continued trauma to Watt's joint does not come from practices, it comes from game play.

The simplest of plateau fractures (undisplaced Type 1) is illustrated below. It fractures through the bone, but does not carry through the articular cartilage and the meniscus (in white).

This displaced Type I fracture (most common variant of Type I) goes through bone, articular cartilage and meniscus.

Other variations become much more traumatic to the knee joint surface structures, as they break into the joint in more than one spot. (Since Watt's fracture was displaced and unstable requiring plating, I must conclude that the fracture was beyond a Type I)

CLEVELAND

No real surprises on the Browns front.
