Hey guys,

Just a quick thanks on the hospitality and great welcome that I had when I watched your texans kick my Dolphins backside a few weeks ago.

It was my first NFL game live, and too see my team Miami play was a bonus. The result in my book sucked, but damn you guys kicked the dolphins butt. I sat up in the stands behind one of the endzones, 2nd level up, and the people around were great. Lots of laughs, jokes, etc etc. At my expense to some point, but it was a great night and you guys helped me tick off the number 1 thing I wanted to do on my life bucket list.

So. Thank you Houston Texans. Your fans, your organisation. Truly a great night.

Regards.

I wasn't there but compliments on my state, people in general, etc are good to hear. Thanks for posting and hope you get to do it again and get other things on your bucket list accomplished.

Expat aussie here Gouldo.
I have been in H town for 12 years now and I remember my first game at Reliant as it was then known.
The experience is definitely an eye opener.
It is a magnificent stadium and my Texans opened a can of whoopass on the Ravens that day to the tune of 42 -12 if my memory serves me right.
That was October of '12.
I was born in Parramatta and lived in the western suburbs for 17 years.
There are some super fans in the tailgate area and they know how to have a good time out there too - big screen TV's and BBQ pits etc.
And beer of course. ;)

I share your pain, I'm from New Zealand and I've been to one live NFL game, and my team lost too.

Fortunately/Unfortunately it was a Texans home game where they got their butt whipped by the Cowboys, although with all the 'Boys fans there and some lackluster Texans fandowm it felt like a Cowboys home game.

So how did a guy from NZ become a Houston Texans fan?

BTW, my biggest unfulfilled bucket list destinations are NZ/Aus. Someday I'll make it!

No one regrets coming down under.

As to how I became a Texans fan that’s simple. Not having a local team to support that I grew up with always made me feel like a bandwagon fan. So when a brand new team was created I jumped in on the ground floor.
