Do any of you feel like you owe Texans an apology?

Sure, not every play was perfectly executed but personally, I love that win - that was a gutsy, gritty performance full of character.
I see our boys copping a lot of criticism and I have dished some out too so I fully intend to give credit where it is due and this is where we can all start to get behind our team again.
I don't want to see the chicken littles whining about this one.
The defense was pretty darn good and DW4 gutted it out with what I think is a busted rib or two.
Blue manfully ran that pill hard when called upon.
That catch and run by Nuk in OT was determination at it's finest.
Plenty to love about this one.
Go Texans!

Yes, I owe them one....I predicted them to lose based on the three games earlier. The players played a very good game and that was some run and catch in OT. It should have never come to OT if the first half play with a half yard for a TD on 4th Down had been a decent play call down the middle. Players Grade A -- BOB Grade F

Like I said, not perfect, but why should Texans players want to win for a bunch of whiny baby "fans"?
Time to give some love for a hard earned win.

I don't owe the Texas Residents one damn thing.

They owe the State, City, and County an apology for being a garbage team through most of their existence and managing to make the Houston Oilers look appealing in hindsight. Should have just named them the "Texas Residents" if they were going to be this ******* vanilla.

Uncle Rico

Ur apology should be as loud as Ur disrespect was
if you bailed out on the team with all those walls of text on how the team doesnt deserve your love anymore then please keep writing those chapters, they seem to be redirecting the negative outcomes on the field and giving the rest of us some hope that this season isnt wasted PLUS the chuckle always helps.

Bye.
Go root for the Cowboys.

Since 2002, the only really enjoyable seasons we had was 2011, 2012. possibly 2007 if you like offense.

Everything else has been frustration and let downs. Of course we are not the browns, but its like I feel like if we were spotted 4 wins before the season even starts and given 6 1st round draft picks we would still miss the playoffs.

And "fans" like you wouldn't say a single bad word to any Texans player or coach if you were face to face with one.
So there's always that.
WTF are you talking about? I'd love nothing more than to talk shop with Romeo and give him an earful. I study the game as best as I can and would give my opinion to any and all. O'Brien I would deck immediately and deal with the consequences (so if yall see 'Redbeard punches Bill O'Brien', I probably need bail).

As one of the handful of folks that have actually been around longer than me, and thus literally longer than the 'Texans', I think you're not really doing your part as a fan by still being here Herv. You need to be shiny and happy like other NFL fans. I mean, look at look at Mike Tomlin ... now THAT is a fan of his team.

I don’t think fans ever owe the Texans an apology, but the Houston Chronicle sportswriters sure do. After reading what Jerome Solomon and Jenny Dial Creech had to say, it was as if they actually were disappointed that the team won.

I know a lot of people hate O’Brien’s guts, but apparently the Chronicle has adopted the position that everyone does, and have decided that a little objectivity is no longer necessary. I’ve previously stated here that my interest in the team is not what it used to be, and I don’t post that post much anymore, and more than likely I won’t the rest of the week about the Texans. But if those clowns at the Chronicle think their obvious anti-O’Brien bias is helping things, they are sadly mistaken. If I want to read sh!t like that, I’ll just come here. Expect much better from a big town newspaper.

I will apologize because I didn't think the Texans would beat the Cowboys because they never beat the Cowboys in the regular season anymore. I am thankful that they finally did.

I do still wish that the Texans start winning games in a more convincing fashion. Right now they remind me of the '91 Oilers after the blowout win against Denver.

Hell know. Really?? I am referencing coaching, upper management, and owner when I say HELL NO!!! The players win in spite of everything. The Texans (owner, management, and coaching) are wasting a possible franchise QB, WR, etc. with their decisions. DW will never reach his full potential as it stands now. Best case we get into playoffs with no hope. Most likely injured.
Players no real complaint.

Nice win yes. I am still a fan even though I give honest criticism sometimes. They still are not a great team and they’re still not the favorites to win the Super Bowl in February which is all that matters. I am sure there will be more constructive criticism coming.

The defense was pretty darn good
Against a Cowboys offense that has no offensive weapons outside of Ezekiel Elliot I am not overly impressed. Yes we did a good job stopping the Cowboys run game but when that has been the only reliable part of the Cowboys offense that is not as big of an accomplishment as it normally would be.

As far as our offense goes I was impressed that the O-line held up and did a solid job but we left too many points off the board by not scoring TD's in the red zone.

Players Grade A -- BOB Grade F
I am proud of the heart our team showed but the truth is we should be a better team than what we are and that falls on coaching.

Ah so this is another 'not real fans' thread, I didn't catch it initially.
As soon as I read “chicken littles” I knew what this thread was. The labeling of one fan onto another fan is as old as team sports itself.

Fans have the right to complain. A lot of them pour money hand over fist to forfeit their one relaxing day to take their family to the game. Their expectations in Houston is for the team to at least be competitive. That’s a pretty low bar that the Texans fail to hurdle all to often. After awhile the mediocrity on the field translates to frustration in the stands and Homes around the city. In order to prevent complete insanity some fans, like myself, fill in that space with mild amusement and apathy. The bar is on the ground.

All I will say, is there was alot of Astros gear in the stands last night, to go along with the Go Astros chants in the stands.

Just sayin.....

Beating a bad Cowboys team is not close to disproving a vast majority of fans problems with the Texans.

They dont give me a refund of money, time or anything else they receive from me as a fan..... why would I owe them anything because of the first two wins in a row since 2016?

By the same token, we have had some close games against good teams as well.
Apparently that doesn't count.

They count if all you care about are "moral" victories.... but when your team hasn't had two wins in a row since 2016, its kind of unrealistic to expect them to go undefeated the rest of the season.....

It doesnt nullify the problems some fans see with the team.

Sunshine fans saying or even implying they are better fans than the frustrated ones is about as flawed logic as stating forum join dates = a better fan.

I apologize to the Texans:
  1. For expecting them to win more than two consecutive games since 2016
  2. For expecting O'Brien to call more than one running play at the goal line
  3. For expecting the team to show up ready to play in the first quarter
  4. For expecting the trainers and medical staff to recognize and address that they need to do something about these recurring hamstring pulls
So, I apologize for setting my expectations so high.

My fault.
I guess I just have a low tolerance for excessive whining after a pretty decent win.
The ad hoc quantifying and nit picking gets really old after a while.

LOL

This is the most hilarious thread I've seen on TT.

Now if you want to start a do we owe the Astros an apology thread I could get on board. Remember all of the vitriol after the three 100 loss seasons.

90% of people here was rooting for cowgirls lol I am done with fans here. they all want texans to lose 90% of times. this site has some **** fans.
Your math is like O'Brien's red zone offense. I challenge you to find five posts were posters were rooting for the Cowboys.

I don't know which one is worst. Some anonymous fan claiming they are a bigger fan than another anonymous fan or fans who pull the premature "no respect" card

only some of the play-calling.

When the 'Texas Residents' start winning convincingly and regularly like the local hardball team does, I'll consider an apology. Right now, the TRs deserve the harsh critique the fans are dealing.

We should buy a ps4 for the mcnairs along with the new madden. So they can realize it's not as hard as it need to be.

Since when is wanting your team to be sustainably competitive against the highest order of the league 'excessive whining'?

The nerve of some fans for having such an uppity level of expectation, huh?

And there's nothing ad hoc about the same continuous expectations and criticisms that have been around for years and years now.

We all want that - let's just savor the little victories when they come along.
After all, they won a very physical game in prime time.

Norg?

They're still not out the doghouse yet. Win a few more games and the vibe around these parts will be lit.
Several people see us winning 7 games & screwing up the draft. Others fear we'll back into the play-off & be one & done, as we aren't "real contenders." I think it's going to take more than "a few wins" to turn this crowd around.

Bottom line the Texans were determined to win and they did it in spite of their coach. The players have my admiration and sympathy. If Watson played with a broken rib he will have to go on IR. We all knew it would happen sooner or later but why now, in an intradivision game?
