O-line runs deep

Watching the O-line talent pool runs deep and the Bush interview I REALLY REALLY like what D'brick said. " I think if my self as a body gaurd. I am soely responsible for the health and well being of my QB" ......
I tell you what I like that kinda thinking

While Bush said " i may be a small peice of the puzzle they are missing" yadda yadda " help win more games" yadda " not like were going to the Super bowl or anything"...

Caught a part of D'Brick's interview. Have to say he came across as a very well spoken young man--much better than average.

IMO, we can't go to far wrong with either RB or DBrick. Both bring real positives with them and few negatives. Can't say the same thing about a VY pick though. WAY to many possible/probable negatives to bet the teams future on IMO. Possible high return, but it seems to much like betting the franchise on one turn of the cards. Not my style.

Both Reggie and Ferguson have great attitudes and work ethics... but I do love the body guard statement, it seems like he takes offense to giving up a sack, I like that.

there is no way I'd go D'brickashaw with the 1st pick. consider in a trade down but not over Mario Williams. I'm really starting to think that the Texans go with Daryn Colledge with the 2nd rd. pick this kid could really handle the LT position just hope his stock is not rising too high that he goes in the 1st.

Supposedly many teams are wanting him at Guard at the next level.

Are you saying D'Brick is not worth the top overall pick, or you wouldnt pick him there? If you are saying that he is not worth it, then you are wrong, but we all have our opinion on who we would pick at #1 and who we wouldnt. Oh and I really dont get this Mario Williams thing. You guys want to pick the BPA, which at #1 would be Bush, yet Ferguson is the better player out of him and Mario Williams, so its BPA unless an offensive lineman is involved.

Colledge will never earn a first round grade and I doubt that unless we pick him he goes anywhere near the top of round two, maybe around the middle though.

I agree:ok: After the virginia pro-day, he could be worth the #1 pick IMO. As of right now if we trade down its for D'brick not M.Williams. Who better to be Carr's personal bodyguard:sumo:

HELL YEAH, thats what I'm saying & I might add in plain English.

If the Texans do as expected and take Reggie Bush (which by all accounts now seems like a lock) Colledge MUST be the pick of the Texans in the 2nd round. maybe not the BPA but if they go Bush they go Carr and David will get better protection. too many red asses on the line waiting to get whacked if the offense does not improve. And to your other point I'd take Mario over D'Brick anyday, but I doubt the Texans take another D-lineman after last year taking Travis Johnson

I think that the Texans will be forced to take D'brick #1 if they want him, as I see Tenn. taking D'brick over Young, which for the record I called before young proved to have cheated off a rock.

Colledge, by most accounts will not be the best OT for our system left on the board at that point. Jon Scott is a much better prospect than Colledge.

I would take D'brick over Mario at #1 anyday.

Travis Johnson at #16 makes me laugh too. :)

Our best scenario is to trade down and get D'Brick and plug holes left over from last off seasons fiasco. The character exhibited by a few of these players is very eye=opening.

man your crazy :ok: no way the Texans take Ferguson over Bush, no way!

the draft is deep at tackle and the Texans will address this NEED in the 2nd rd. end of story.

as far as who has the better NFL career between D'brick and Super Mario we'll see won't we :)

lets see.. we are already pretty strong at RB, and the draft is deep at OL. This leads me to one conclusion. Trade down to 3-6. Draft DE Mario Williams and pick up the best OL in the 2nd rd. We REALLY REALLY need a pass rush.

ehh, we'll see.

I wouldn't put it past our FO to take D'brick over Bush, but in the end I think you will be right.

The Texans will address A need in the second, but not "THE" need. That should be addressed in the first IMO.

Max Gean Jilles or Marcus Mcneil would be nice value picks in the 2nd round.
It's not that I don't think they are both day one picks. But I was under the impression that you look for the quicker guys for the zone blocking scheme.
Didn't see the number but Max G-j was very impresive for a big man in the standing leap. Move 350 pounds that high...awesome. TBS, I don't think either player fits the system. At right Gaurd, both players in our system might be a liablity. Just not quick enough. Wouldn't surprise me though if Dallas takes him with their 2. Mangold looked absolutley awesome. I would definatley break the rule for him. His hips were a little high in the three cone drill, but hey he's a rook. Got all the tools. He's worth a #1. I'll be surprised
if he slips past Indi. Don't think he'll be there for the 33. JMHO.

I like you. You 're well read and up todate on all of this...However....

I got three problems with RB...outside the fact I lost five hundred bucks on him in Vegas...
1. He's very light. He's sculptured well no doubt, but 201 is still 201.
2. I have yet to see him block a LB. I'm not against a light guy, however the guys got to be able to block. Robert Smith, Gayle Sayers, Sweetness, all could block. See Steve Young & Lawerance Phillips.
3. ALL of his big runs are outside the hash. If Texas could figure out a way to bottle him up, how long do you think it will take NFL co-ordinators to bottle him up ?
RB will face a lot of nickel and dimes when he is on the feild. There's a reason ole Pete went with Lendale White in the second half of that game. And untill the 6:18 mark of the fourth quarter, he was right. I was one foot & a VY away from winning my bet. I think RB is a special player no doubt. A once every two generations player. But he's not with out his warts.

It will be interesting to see which way they go. They draft any of the three I'll
be on board with the pick. All three have warts. I believe they'll take Bush simlply for the fact they'll find no one to trade down with. As far as the Mario drum beater, He's not Peppers ok. He's good. He's worth a top ten pick. But he's not Peppers. JMHO's. If the team passes on Brick....there will be no other prospect in this draft that will be able to beat out Pitts in the '06 season. JMHO. If you can live with that , I can too.

I wouldn't draft D'Brick with the 1st pick either ...and there isn't one that I saw at the combine that I'd pick with ANY 1st day pick.

ALSO, I think all this weight that D'Brick is adding is going to be a crutch. How does he know his knees are gonna hold up under all that excess through the rigors of an NFL season ...or career for that matter. I say he's a good kid ...but will be a liability.

I agree...the need for a pass rusher is pretty high. It will help secondary also. The DB's won't have to cover for like 8 seconds if the QB is under pressure.

Ur right Mario Williams is not Julius Peppers, he is bigger stronger and faster. 6'6" 295 and ran a 4.66 40. Has the size to play DT when we go to pass rushin downs to get all of our Pass rushers in there.

Imagine this:
Left DE: Jason Babin
Left DT: Mario Williams
Right DT: Travis Johnson/Robaire Smith
Right DE: Antwam Peek

Gettin to the QB has been a problem all 4 years of existance for the Texans and with these 4 out there on 3rd and long, the QB would have less time than in the past. This would help Faggins and Robinson immediatly. At first, I thought D'Brick was the way to go. And now Super Mario is the flavor of the week for me. But either way the team would be improved, the only way for the draft to be a bust is to take Bush or VY.

You could add Weaver to that list also, put him in one of those DT slots.
