Any of you gonna admit to owing Jadeveon Clowney an apology?

This guy's just a one-hit wonder.

He's Andray Bruce at best.

Will he ever be healthy?

Greg Robinson could've been our franchise LT.

Blake Bortles sure was tempting for some.

And of course we couldv'e traded down, dance partners be damned.

Let the fessin' begin..

I wanted a trade down and the Texans to draft OLB, Khalil Mack. The Texans had already put their cards on the table in regards to Clowney....their drills for him were determine his ability to play OLB instead of DE. I didn't want to see the Texans try and teach another defensive player how to play a new position...they'd already done this with Mercilus and the process wasn't quite complete at the time of that draft.

Ur apology should be as loud as Ur disrespect was
Trigger happy on this one, but it will have it's day.

Capologists here are ok with paying 12Ms for Clowney, will even franchise him 2 years in a row , but long term (5 year) deal is unfathomable because HIS KNEES ARE GOING TO EXPLODE!!

I wanted Jake Matthews instead of JD. JD's recurrent injuries reduced his value, then he had 1 good year, now he's going to be sidelined again. I'll apologize if he proves me wrong and stays healthy long enough to be worth a 1-#1.

My request was trading down however possible (there are 31 willing partners if the price is right). I wanted Jake Matthews and then trading back up with whatever we got from the previous deal for CJ Mosley. Had O'Brien got rid of the old guard of Myers and Smith without blowing everything up, we could've had an offensive line of Brown/(?)/Jones/Brooks/Matthews. With Mercilus and Watt rushing, Kareem and Joseph in coverage - a man in the middle like Mosley would've been huge.

So, while I'm obviously a Clowney fan, we could've and should've done better IMO. No apology.

And why has nobody posted Robert Downey Jr yet?

Agreed,

Who was the GM?

Matthews and Brown as bookend OT's would've been sweet and the OL wouldn't be in the shape it's in today even with Brown being shipped off.

I really think these apology threads are stupid.

I wanted Clowney and if McNair hadn't had a lawsuit against him Clowney would've been playing on field turf and no telling how good he could've become.

No apology necessary. He's yet to have a double digit sack season or be in the running for defensive player of the year or even produce at the level of a Watt, Khalil Mack, Von Miller or any of the elite pass rushers in the game. Yet, he might get paid as one.

Maybe, he should be apologizing to us.

I caught few minutes this morn and then again this afternoon 610 radio playing and discussing a clip from BOB discussing some players and these are my words.

Watt: has more confidence as broken leg (most recent injury) easier to deal with than his back and core problems.

Clowney: will be there (field) game 1. Coach repeated it so talking heads were trying to define it and mentioned that BOB earlier said same for July training camp. Of course the contract vs tag was discussed.

On having JD, JJ and Merci together on field "I don't usually say this. You guys know I don't talk about this but those players will make this defense something else. Then there's Reader, and Mathieu and Mckinney and Cunningham and Justin Reid going to be a real good player."

Wait... You'd take a player that was injured 21/2 years of 4 over a 2 time DPOY?
That's "3 time DPOY" to you, sir (and 4 first team all pros...but who's counting?)

Whom should be owed an apology may be a wash.
He should have produced more for The Texans and as fans we expected more as advertised and I'm glad he's coming around but then again it is through fault of The Texans' turf that he was and will always be injured or half cocked.

Do we open the wallet??? Eghhhh~
We should make him earn it this season.
He produces as he should.. over it up. He doesn't like it and thinks he deserves more.. tag em.

You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one
Lol, it's not like this is some master plan. They've been trying to sign him to an extension.
I'm guessing they've been trying to get some discount/structure that protects them somewhat against injury and JD knows that if he gets through this last season teams will be throwing silly money at him regardless of longevity concerns.

Suppose they still have the franchise tag for him next year.

Yup, they can tag him twice if needs be. That works for me until we have a reasonable confidence in his health.
