Just for fun: If you could bring back any 1 former Texans...

...player in their prime for this season only, which one would you bring back?

Cannot be any player currently on the team like Watt. Can also be any player who ever put on a Texans uniform, so Ed Reed counts. Also, consider the team as is in its current state and draft picks they have upcoming.

For me, even though we have talent at the position I have to go with Andre. Just too dominant of a player and with Watson making plays off schedule, Hopkins and
Fuller drawing coverage prime Dre might rewrite the history books.

Duane Brown LT, Andre Johnson WR and Arian Foster RB.
With an offense like that, this would be a fun team to watch.

Either AJ or Arian Foster.

But lean toward AJ to see the magic between him and Watson.

Honorable mentions would be Seth Payne and DeMeco Ryans.

If it's in the players prime(not just as a Texan) then Bosseli or Reed would be hard to beat. Would fill a big hole either way

If it's as a Texans player it would have to be AJ, only HOF caliber player the Texans have had

Thought about Reed too. Just from a talent perspective alone. Him and honey badger could be really special.

I would go with Arian. Pair him with Watson what would defenses do? Couldn’t defend that. Especially with the aerial attack we had last year with bombs to Fuller and Hopkins.

I don't think Arian would be Arian in OB's run it up the gut offense

Right now Arian Foster would make this team better than Andre Johnson would. We don't have a shortage of people to throw too. We do have a real need for a legitimate franchise RB who can create his own holes and exploit all those guys trying to drop back in coverage as well as catch out of the backfield like Lamar Miller.

But it's a completely natural reaction to want to see what AJ could do with a QB like Watson on the team.

This is super easy. Arian Foster without question. You give last years Watson a running game like we had when Foster was killing it, WOW! Having a running good running game would make Watson’s life so much easier.

He was still putting up good numbers until his injury.

He was putting up good numbers in Kubiak's ZBS scheme... be a bit more difficult under OB's (does he have a) scheme?

Remember, your adding to current roster and coaches, not what he was prolific in back in the day

1246 yards (4.8 ypc) in 13 games during BOB’s first year sounds pretty good to me.

Damn, it would've been nice to just say "all" Houston pro football teams....this way I could add a Optimus Prime, Earl Campbell to this offense and with Watson, this would truly be something to watch. Also worth noting, he would fit whatever scheme O'Brien has in mind and not even OB could screw that up.

OB's 2014 offense still had AJ, Myers, Brown, Brooks and Jones. Think Arian could replicate that with the OL we have now?

Matt Schaub. Position of greater importance than talent. In his prime, a great backup QB, which is so important on this team.

Probably not, but simply commenting that he’s been successful under BOB. You appeared to have implied he could not.

Was just trying to point out that expecting him to be the same under OB that he was under Kubiak was probably not realistic

Among those favoring a running back, why are there no votes for Dominick Williams?

Alex Gibbs
Give him a year, maybe two, to get his guys in and trained and we'll have a good O-line again

if it has to be a player then I vote Arian Foster (man it was hard not to type Andre Johnson but Hopkins fills the WR void more than Miller or Blue fills the RB void).

:)

I’d say Gibbs counts.

I just don’t know if he and OB’s styles would mesh.

OB's 1st season they still ran ZBS. We don't now.

I still like the ZBS. After watching Shaub move around like a stork/giraffe - trying to buy some extra time, can you imagine how well Watson would fit? I enjoy watching the game reruns of the Rams, Falcons, etc .... any of the ZBS teams. They seem to run so smoothly. You can build an awesome ZBS in two drafts .... it takes a long time to build a Dallas type power blocking line. They need to be nearly all 1st round picks. Then, when one of them gets injured and they put in a backup, the line looks like Ned in the First Primer !
