My 7-round texans mock

travfrancis

Waterboy
1. QB Vince Young - Texas
2. MLB D'Qwell Jackson - Maryland (jackson seems to fit the bill for what DC Smith wants at mlb)
3. CB Jonathan Joseph - USC (could be a huge steal, would be our #2 cb)
3. C Greg Eslinger - Minnesota (classic zone blocking center)
4. TE David Thomas - Texas (would have really liked to have taken an elite te in the 2nd round, but just couldn't pass on jackson at that point)
5. FS Marcus Hudson - NCST (fs with good size, could be a steal)
6. OG Chris Kuper - Arizona State (offensive guard who should fit the zone blocking scheme)
7. LB Travis Williams - Auburn (fast lb/s prospect, drafted for special teams)

I'll ignore the VY pick.

D'Qwell Jackson, Greg Eslinger, and Jonathan Joseph are great picks, but I don't see David Thomas falling past the third. If he does, I'd snatch him in a heartbeat.

no offensive lineman until their 4th pick?

^ would you feel more comfortable if i made Eslinger the 3rd pick? saying the 4th pick is pretty misleading since our 3rd and 4th pick are back to back.

I wouldn't be to concerned about where we draft o linemen, the denver system has a way of getting the best out of players.

I would feel more comfortable with Brooks in the second instead of Jackson. I also will not say anything about the Vince pick.

d'qwell jackson is the #1 rated mlb in the draft, as of right now brooks isn't even in the draft.
I would take Brooks over Jackson. He was a projected top 15 last year.

tis true, i was going on mere speculation and hope. but you are correct.

Now, if Brooks enter and is there at #33...the commisioner wouldnt even have to leave the stand in between pitts pick and ours.

haha, i might also, but i'm not considering brooks in this mock draft, we don't even know if he got kicked off the team or not, nor do we know if he'll be in the supplemental or real draft IF he was kicked off. on top of that we don't know how serious of a thing it was that he did to get kicked off, have no implication of where he will be slotted in the draft.

Yeah, IF he is gone, I dont care if he murdered a grandma for her groceries, he is a stud MLB that our team needs that should be there for our #33 pick.

(I was joking about the grandma part)
