Cushing suspended for PEDs

So are we going to have a ton of people in denial of this time thinking he wants to be a mommy again?

Other than that, now we have another starter out of the lineup on a injury riddled team. Great stuff!!

Not really worried about it. He's a shell of the player he once was. To be honest I'm more excited about an expanded role for Zach Cunningham. PFF had him as our highest graded player against the Jags. He's a ballhawk.

Give him a little credit. He was a leader on the field defensively getting players lined up. Not that it showed last game but...

Who wouldn't need to use drugs to recover from his legs getting blown out in consecutive years by dirty ass play?

Doesn't matter. Cushing's career was, unfortunately, done a long time ago.

Go on and retire now. Thank you for being the heart and soul all those years.

9.5 million (9.3 in cap hit this year) in dead cap space. How could his contract been so lucrative (and detrimental to the Texans) after 2 knee surgeries and one (now two) PED suspensions? This is a guy who has made the pro bowl once in his entire career and that was his rookie season. Every has been mediocre FA with injury and PED history should be banging on Rick Smith's door to be let in.

I am sure this isn't Rick Smith's fault. Someone told him to give the contract to Cushing.

I am a fan of Cushing. Hate to see him go out like this.

I have written one good thing about Cushing in years. I was a fan early on but the "over-worked syndrome" as his excuse for getting busted for PED's before chipped away at that. As his production declined I thought he should have been packing years ago.

PED suspension I feel is a betrayal of the team. He betrayed the team and the man paying him.

You know what? Screw this dude! F’ing cheater. I don’t want to hear **** about his knee injuries. Thomas Davis came back and didn’t cheat. 49’ers old ILB did it. Came in a cheater and is going out a cheater. Forever tainted. Loser.

How does this affect his pay and our cap? Is that treated like a savings to us? Is he still paid?

I don't know about the cap. But I don't think it's a coincidence that Cushing gets hurt was going to miss a few games and now with the PED's the McNair's dont have to pay 10 games of Cushing's salary this yr. I expect a Buyout soon and the McNair's to be done with Cushing soon

This boy been a juice head since he came in...... we ignored it to long and it has bit us in the behind once again

I'm actually glad........ he was not the Cushing I remember for about the last 4 seasons now....... let the rook and the talent at middle linebacker get that time.... I like the potential there...... not overly worried about this as I am about this O line and this ankle injury of Deshaun Watson..... all our concussed players and how our receivers all of a sudden CANT CATCH A COLD..... Cushing needs to call it quits..... 10 games is the death sentence to his career or whatever is left of it

Only thing I know is whatever goes wrong in the Texans org isn't Rick's fault.

Time to move on. Maybe he should retire. We can't afford to lose a healthy key defensive player for 10 games...well barring the concussion.

well remember the 3 USC Lbers CLay cush and ughh that other guy

I guess clay really was the best of them all .... but whatevers

anywho bye cush it was good while it lasted don't worry I betcha the colts will pick u up LOL

The last few years when Cushing was not close to his old self, he was still a better than average LB. I'm glad we had him, but it's time for him to go now. He's nothing but a liability and a roster spot.

And with that the Brian Cushing era ends in Houston. Doubt he was ever clean, but I feel like that about most of the league.

It's not against the rules til you get caught right? Bye Brian have a nice life.

Cushing's attorney.
Full statement from Harvey Steinberg on behalf of Brian Cushing
Brian Cushing regretfully announce he’s been suspended for 10 games commencing on Sept. 13, 2017. In so doing,he is aware of the negative impact he has had on his team and most importantly his fans. It is with the deepest remorse he humbly apologizes to his fans, teammates and coaches.
After consulting with his attorney and his agent he felt rather than dragging the appellate process out, this would be the best way to proceed.'

Don't you remember, someone else will be enjoying our demise come next draft?

When you see people wearing Browns' jerseys in Houston in the next few years you will be able to tell the tale about how a Texan by the name of Rick Smith rose above all other dumbasses and helped break their curse. He was the chosen one. The one that was to bring balance to the force. The Prince that was promised. Azor Adumbass!

Why is everything falling apart in 2017? No Duane Brown. No Brian Cushing. We may go 2-14 and get the 1st overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Which the Cleveland Browns, not us, will enjoy! As well as the #33 pick overall.

Our only hope now is Deshaun Watson starts every game and plays well despite a porous offensive line. Perhaps we can win 8 or 9 games. That's all wishful thinking on my part. If we win 5 or 6 games this year that may be all we can ask for.

I had posted a load on the Cushing and against the faulty logic of his steroid producing tumor argument and the over-exercise induced steroid argument.............both were vehemently defended by McNair as he received his information by some hired gun medical personnel. To this day, I would love to know their names. McNair has not done a better job of choosing his medical advisors than he has his FO personnel. You don't start with a conclusion and try to force the facts to support them.

The way things are going, Watson will have a great game and then get injured.

Same reason it fell apart in 2013. Piss poor planning.

Cut him now. He will always be one of my favorite Texans. First guy we ever drafted that had an attitude of toughness. He was great from 2009 until he got hurt in 2012.
