4 draft picks in trade from Draft Forecast.com

I think someone posted this already on here, I know I've seen the article. I wouldn't count on getting four draft picks all this year, I think you'd have to exchange some of those for future picks (could maybe get a total of two 1sts, a 2nd, and a 3rd, with the picks being spread out over this year and next, i.e. 2006 1st and 3rd and 2007 1st and 2nd). This article approaches the trade fairly well other than I don't think we'd get those four picks all in this draft, and I also don't like many of the picks they made for us.

I'd have to agree with you here....I dont see us getting all four picks in this draft and if we did get an offer like that Id jump on it in a heartbeat, BUT your right some of these picks are very questionable....running back calhoun??? are they serious?? we could def find better than that cat...especially in this draft. d'brick, mcneil, and bobby carpenter would be a dream draft for me...that would plug so many holes and help this young team become YOUNG AND VERY TALENTED. It would be interesting to see what kind of turn around we could pull off with a draft of that caliber.

That would be the trade down scenario that no one could turn down,i like Bush but the players mentioned in return....You would have to be out of your mind not to take it!

Draft Bush or trade

Best trade down article I've read so far.

I would take this trade. I think the Ravens would be a team that would be interested. Depending on what happens w/ Jamaal Lewis, they may want Bush....or they may want Leinart or VY to replace Boller. If we could work out a deal w/ them for picks and Ray Lewis, it would be a great scenario IMO.

Ravens get:
-#1 pick
-Kailee Wong (experienced LB who is cheaper than Lewis)

Texans get:
-#13 pick
-#45 pick
-2007 1st or 2nd round
-Ray Lewis (by trading off Wong, it helps alleviate Lewis' contract)

1. (#13)-Vernon Davis, TE
2a.(#33)-Daryn Colledge, OT
2b. (#45)-Ko Simpson, FS
3a. (#65)-Ray Edwards, DE
3b. (#66)-Jonathan Joseph, CB
4. (#97)-Greg Eslinger, C...or...Jason Avant, WR
5. (#129)-Mark Setterstrom, OG
6. (#161)-Aaron Harris, MLB
7. (#193)-Jeremy Bloom, WR/PR

Interesting idea, I already posted on your draft pick selection in your thread in the mock folder, but one more thought on the Ravens trading. I think they still feel Boller is their man, he had a couple good games at the end of the year to revive some hope in him, I think if he'd flopped in those games they'd probably be looking for a replacement now, but I think he might have done just enough to earn another chance. As for them looking for Bush, I think they'd prefer to stay at #13 and grab LenDale White, I think they'd prefer that power RB to the ultra fast one as that is the type of runner their team is currently built around, or if they keep Chester Taylor or Lewis they might go with DeAngelo Williams if he somehow lasts to #13 to have a change-of-pace guy in there. DeAngelo or LenDale would likely be the starter over Chester Taylor, and Taylor can be the power/short-yardage RB if DeAngelo is the starter or he could just be a comparable sub to LenDale. Either way I don't see them trading up for Bush.

As for the picks this article had for us, I don't like Hawk at #4/5, I'd definitely rather take Mario Williams. It also doesn't make much sense to get D'Brick and Marcus McNeill as Pitts is still a good OT and would be fine at RT, so I'd go after an interior OLineman in the 2nd, probably Nick Mangold. Bobby Carpenter would be ok in the 2nd, but I'd rather look for a CB, and similarly getting Hawk and Carpenter would not be a great choice either, bringing in two LBs high in the draft leaves us with a lot of money tied up between 4 LBs, only 3 of which can start. Calhoun doesn't make much sense, we either get Bush, a big power RB, or no RBs. We don't need an additional filler guy again, we used a 3rd last year on Morency. Dominique Byrd would be nice if he lasts until the 3rd round. Stovall would be great, not sure he lasts that long, and I don't like waiting that long to get a DE (as I said, I would definitely take Mario in the 1st if we trade down, over D'Brick, Hawk, or anyone else).

Trading with the Titans could be an option also.

But if the Texans just pass on Vince and he goes to Tennessee, which is the most likely spot, that means the we have to play him twice a year AND beat him out every year for the division. Now, not only do we have to beat Peyton Manning twice a year, but also Vince. That doesn't sound to good for me.

Now think about this, because Tennessee wants Vince real bad.

For all you people that think Reggie is really the answer, then wouldn't the smart thing to do be to draft Vince and hold the Titans hostage, then trade him for the world to the titans.

New Orleans will still take Matt, because that is their biggest need. That means we could then draft Reggie at 3rd.

See I think Reggie will be around at 3. As long as we don't trade with anyone outside of 1-3, then we could get either one at 3, since Matt is pretty much a lock at 2.

Now I wouldn't care which one we got a the 3rd spot and we could still get something else also, which we need so desperately.

The 3rd spot is ideally where we wan't to pick, not only to save money on the pick, but also, because we could get something for trading down and if Reggie is there, then take Reggie, if Vince is there then take Vince. If the Titans did decide to take Reggie then we could still get Vince at the 3.

Everybody might be able to argue one or the other, but no one can argue with one and another pick or an up and coming DL or OL.

Good find Marcus. The writer goes into quite a bit of detail and lays out some
interesting scenarios. However and in my humble opinion, I don't see a godfather offer in any of those deals. Others might, I don't. What we need
from a team giving us all of their first day picks (even if they are drafting at
#4 like the Jets), and a pick or 2 in the second day is a player on their roster. If say the Jets can add a young starting LB or OL, that might seal the
deal.

I'm with markbeth on this one. Charlie has done good early but very questionalbe in the mid rounds aside from davis and mathis. He continues to pick wayyyy to many projects.
