Which Defense?

i've got two options for week one and frankly to me they both look great. i've got tenn. and houston for my defensive choices. titans would be good because they're going against miami who doesnt have an O-line or running game, and are starting fiedler ... but they'll be playing in miami & they're USUALLY :hehe: good on opening day. on the other hand, if houston can stop L.T., the charger's offense might as well be a bunch of 3rd graders.

I think I would go with Houston on this one. I smell a good day for them.

I would sway to Tennesee, I didn't get a good vibe from the houston defense in the preseason, and I think your prognosis of Miami's offense right now is dead on.

Go with Tennesse. Despite their losses on the DLine this offseason they should be able to shut down the Dolphins. They never were a prolific offense with Fiedler back there at QB, and now with Minor likely to start and Gordon not likely to see much action they will be smothered by the Titans defense. I'd wait to pick Houston's D till the Lions game, or a few games deep into the season when it has time to gel. Once Seth Payne plays himself back into playing shape the Houston defense will be formidable.

Tennessee until proven otherwise.

thanks for the votes ... i'm usually a very slow starter when getting into new things like this so trying to minimize my mistakes. especially since it's not baseball where 150 sum games are played to catch up.

I WOULD GO WITH THE TITANS UNTIL THE TEXANS PROVE THEY CAN STOP ANYBODY WITH SOME CONSISTENCY. I AM A HUGE TEXANS FAN, JUST NOT IMPRESSED WITH THEIR DEFENSE JUST YET. MIAMI HAS BIG QUESTION MARKS ALL OVER THEIR OFFENSE (EXAMPLE MINUS RICKY WILLIAMS AND DAVID BOSTON)

I've learned the hard way to stick with specific starters for the first few weeks (barring injuries). If you shuffle the deck every week you may find that you keep missing a player's big week. I tend to only make a change if a trend develops where a backup is outscoring a starter.

i'm glad i asked! end of the 3rd quarter the titans have 2 sacks, 3 interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and 0 points allowed.
