Another interesting site to add, I'm not sure how relevant it is to OTs, but here it is anways:
http://www.ourlads.com/DraftAverages.html

This site has the 1st round draft picks from the last six drafts, breaks it down by the number at each position, then their average, maximum, and minimum heights, weights, reported 40 times. Kind of interesting to see how this year's guys stack up against recent 1st rounders.

Interesting that only 4 teams have not drafted a tackle in round one during that time. CLE, NYJ, DAL, SD.

I am in the trade down camp but I also wonder how many RB's or even DE's you can make the same case for. Though those positions have less longevity than offensive line positions.

You forgot us, we haven't drafted a tackle in the 1st round, the Oilers did but not us.

What is also interesting is Denver has picked one. They used the 20th pick on Foster in 2003. He is their current RT.

Anyone care to shed a light on what this might mean??

I guess it shows that the majority of teams in the NFL take an OT in the 1st round of the draft once every career cycle (career cycle meaning about the average lifespan of a good NFL player and how long OTs will last until they need to look for a new one).

It's just as interesting to me that Matt Lepsis their starting LT was an undrafted free agent.

I was hoping that someone with a little more knowledge than myself might be able to tell us which of these guys were busts, servicable starters or franchise type picks.
Well, for the most part we all pretty much know who turned out to be the franchise guys pretty much by definition.

I'm with you, I could point out some of the really good ones and some of the big busts, and most of the guys in the last 4-5 years, but my knowledge of OLinemen doesn't go back that far to properly grade all of these guys. Cadahnic would probably be able to give a better grade on the majority of them.

What I was trying to point out was that if you go and grab a first rounder, you have no idea what you are gonna get. Even someone as high as Robert Gallery(number 2) is a RT. But yes, it is telling that the Bronco LT is a undrafted FA. That might give you an idea of what Kubs might do.

It is very possible we stand and draft Young or trade down for D. We have seen the Denver Oline is typically not drafted in the first round and the denver system is about going forward, not dancing around. However, we also know that Kubes took an underachiever in Plumber, so perhaps he thinks he can do that with Carr. I think at this point Super Mario is a strong candidate for the Texans first pick.

So it seems like everything else in the draft, there is no sure thing. Hit or miss. After a quick look, seems like a lot of these guys end up being RTs.
