It's easy to see the Texans are in turmoil as the off-season gets under way. Their disastrous 2-14 season was nothing the franchise anticipated heading into their fourth season as the league's most recent expansion team.
One problem after another doomed the team, though. It actually started in 2004 when the Texans were 7-8 entering their last game. Hopes were high that they would finish with their first non-losing record in their third year of play. They were playing host to the lowly Cleveland Browns, and the Texans were coming off a shutout victory that squashed the Jacksonville Jaguars' playoff hopes.
Well, the final week didn't go quite as planned. The Texans put together their worst performance of the season and let the Browns snap a nine-game losing streak. Quarterback David Carr was sacked six times
