College Football Random Thought Of The Day

Was looking for a place to post this as I don't wanna start a thread for a true soph QB, but this kid is certainly interesting.

So this looks a good spot ...

A Beautiful, Brash Mind
Josh Rosen isn't holding back—even if the NFL thinks he should

Josh Rosen shouldn't be doing this. He should be measured and restrained, and at all costs, should avoid controversy. But he just can't help himself.

"I am not going to be fake," Rosen says. "I will not be a robot."

"The NFL should be more worried about pensions than CTE," Rosen says. "In the NFL, when you have guys run into each other head-on, full speed, s--t is going to happen. But at least they're getting paid millions of dollars. In college, they've been running head-to-head into each other for what, an education? You see the irony? That's what you're supposed to be using your head for, an education.

"If you have CTE by the time you're 60, but you're a millionaire up to that point, awesome. But if you're medically retired from football because of concussions in college and never saw a cent of anything, and all you got was a scholarship, and you're supposed to be academically sound but you have headaches the rest of your life that affect your work, that's f--ked up."

Welcome to the inside of Josh Rosen's head. You're going to hear things here, and some may offend you. But he's not changing for anyone.

From this distance, Rosen is more than any quip or anecdote or tweet. More than a freshman who got caught with a hot tub in his dorm room. More than a kid who wore a "F--k Trump" bandana over his hat while golfing on a Donald Trump golf course.

I wonder if UCLA's offense is just crap outside of Rosen or if A&M's defense is living up to the John Chavis billing

UCLA's much hyped OL is getting abused by A&M's DL. Rosen is starting to anticipate the hits now and he's spraying the ball and missing wide open guys. Not his best showing.

Speaking of O-line woes, A&M's LT Avery Gennessy just went down... Didn't really hurt our drive though.

My God. That's an instant classic if I've ever seen one, and despite shitty offensive playcalling near the end of the game, A&M pulls out a win against a ranked opponent at Kyle Field.

Also, big balls Sumlin for that 4th down goal line call.

Is this gonna be your tone if Bama takes down USC too? Cause A&M just upheld their part of the bargain.

No, I just like giving it to them. All the talking heads are all up the SEC's butt, so it's fun to see them lose. Especially to teams they schedule thinking its an instant win. ie., Miss St. I like the Aggies. I'm glad they won. Bama can take a flying leap at a rolling donut for all I care!

LOL Miss State was so dang overrated... I think everyone just underestimated how important Dak Prescott was for that team...
Tennessee vs. App State was hilarious as well

Just found the following on ESPN website.....

i

The SEC is 3-3 in nonconference games, but that doesn't tell the entire story. Accounting for the level of competition faced and game site, the conference was expected to win about 4.5 of its first six games, by an average margin of 14.4 points, based on FPI's projections. Instead it has three wins with an average point differential by of minus-0.5.

I wonder where they'll be ranked this weekend. I bet 11 or 12, just outside the top 10.

I think top 10 is totally reasonable.

No. 3 lost
No. 5 lost
No. 9 struggled to beat App St. in OT

Of teams out of the top 10 but ahead of UH, MSU didn't look impressive at all against Furman and TCU is in a dogfight with South Dakota St. Also one of either no. 4 or no. 11 will go down Monday night. And of course UH is the team to have beaten no. 3, which will be the biggest win rankings wise of the weekend.

That could line up as many as 6 teams they should jump with 3 for sure out of the top 10. Ain't bad odds for a week 2 top 10 spot.

Last year I watched the Cal vs UCLA game to see Jared Goff play, Rosen was clearly the best QB on the field that day.

He had moments when he looked good and moments when the pressure got to him. Still has plenty of growing to do. Plus that OL needs help.

Horns are hitting HRs tonight! ND is getting punched in the mouth.

Yeah, they were stomping ND there for a bit. But the beauty of college football is that things can and do change quickly. ND back with the ball on the goal line after a TD drive.

ND scores another TD 28-31 now.

Fun game.

They just need to play for OT now. Run the ball, kill the clock, and survive to fight another day.

That blocked XP turned 2 points was crazy. I'll tell you what though, that Texas QB has a giant pair. The freshman is a stud!

yeah but his freshman center hurting him a lot tonight

Anyone else notice the ND helmets chin straps? Looks like a ratchet style instead of the usual. Must be the new style helmets.

Anyone else notice the ND helmets are now this annoying shiny pimp gold instead of the almost flat gold they used to have?

Pimps gotta eat to.

This is the other game I wantedto watch this weekend & I missed the whole thing.

Hell of a game. This Texas team has some fight in them. It's always good to see a team pull together and get through adversity.

Wow. That was exciting.
Texas pulled that one out of their ________

This Texas squad is gonna have some crazy shootouts in the Big XII this year. Will be a fun watch

It's funny. The Charlie Strong team is all offense, no defense, and the Kevin Sumlin team is pretty much the opposite now. How freaking ironic

After week 1, and Dalvin Cook playing tonight, the 2017 NFL Draft is shaping up as the Year of the RB.
